Absolutely brilliant and undeniably groundbreaking, with an awe-inspiring number of classic episodes. Demonstrated what the infant medium of TV was capable of. Most iconic theme song ever.

I never caught up with this show until it was streaming on Netflix. It's shocking how timeless almost every episode feels. Almost any time I watch something from before 1970 (movies also, but especially tv), it feels so dated that you have to put yourself in the time to even try to appreciate it. Not this--the ideas are completely fresh, even when I've seen them ripped off or parodied dozens of times. Really impressive work.

Holds up incredibly well for a decades old black and white anthology. The quality of episodes is way higher than any modern day counterparts with only Hitchcock's series rivaling its variety and quality.

The Twilight Zone is often mentioned among the best tv shows of all time for damn good reason. It might be impossible to overstate how good this is for its era and how influential it is on modern sci-fi.

Best TV writing out there. I just really love this show. So many freakin good ideas -- one after another. Very, very impressive. Rod Serling is the man.

Rod Serling is one of the most creative people in television history. I could watch this show all day.

Upon watching the entire series straight through, there are definitely a lot of misses among the hits (often 30+ episodes a season though!). I still consider it to be by far the greatest anthology of all time. It's the show I wish I had written and the one that discouraged me from trying to write. Is that not the highest praise?

Rod Serling, Richard Matheson and Charles Beaumont were three of the greatest writers of weird fiction of all time, and The Twilight Zone was a showcase for their talents. To be fair, I haven't seen beyond the first season and that was some time ago, but the memories I have of it are almost universally positive. The only one caveat I will mention is that, as you would expect from a series with so many episodes made so quickly, they're not all classics.

Some classics mixed in with mostly gibberish. Worth checking out the best bits only.

Variable but not infrequently quite good.

Seen through season 5. Favorite episodes: The Last Flight; Nick of Time; The Invaders; A Penny for Your Thoughts; The Odyssey of Flight 33; An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. Runner ups: Four O'Clock; No Time Like the Past; On Thursday We Leave for Home.

Out of the eight episodes I've seen so far my favorite would be the season one finale ("A World of His Own"). I'd like to check out some more of these at some point.

It has some misses, but the hits hit hard.

It's got an undeniable charm and intelligence. Like the man in the pilot said, "when a story is well-told, the viewer will sit straight and listen". -- Great episodes: 1.01, 1.05, 1.11, [...]

The first three seasons were awesome and inspired, the fourth season had decent stories but the episodes were too long and tended to drag, and the fifth season was pretty mediocre for the most part.

One of the all time greats.
