It may be a poor feminist remake of 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' but for fucks sake: Weaver is as classy as she is hot, and Hewitt is as hot as she is, erh, hot. Boobies and legs that go all the way up into heaven, I'm a guy and what the hell do you want from me?!

Nope. This score has to be extremely low. Our cable was out and this was the one movie that my date and I could agree on watching. About 30 minutes into it we were equally shellshocked by how horrible the movie started and the annoying musical riff that kept being played over and over and over again. Then the cable came on and we were able to watch 90210. I think this movie might not be given a chance to be finished. If we do watch the remainder the score might change (good or bad).

Sigourney Weaver is comedic perfection in this mediocre film elevated only by her performance.

Worth seeing for purposes of ogling Jennifer Love Hewitt. But just that part--don't seek good acting or anything such. But another major problem is the film starts out being a morally-bereft sleezefest but then later tries to resurrect itself and have a "message". It utterly fails for it has no grounds for doing so and the attempt is rather pathetic anyway. That makes it insulting on top of being worthless. Avoid.

I think that because the situations are clever, the dialogue is sharp, and the actors put in a good effort, Heartbreakers ends up working well enough as a romantic comedy. The simple fact is: I had fun. I laughed for most of the way through it, and I didn't find myself feeling bored for long, even if the two-hour runtime is too long. There's enough fun to be had here if you enjoy these kinds of thing, that I think it's worth watching.

A film I wasn't expecting to like but ended up thoroughly enjoying. Silly, yes, but filled with good comic performances and Sigourney Weaver looked better the older she gets.

Thank goodness Jennifer Love Hewitt has a hit show now, because continued garbage like this would have relegated her to a life full of autograph signings at shopping malls.

Jennifer Love Hewitt looks great, there are some cool visual flourishes, the jokes that work really do, Sarah Silverman and Zach Galifianakis make surprise experiences, and Gene Hackman is entertaining to watch as always, however, the two main characters are terrible people and you really don't enjoy spending time with them. Most notable for being directed by David Mirkin, from whom you would expect better, or at least something a little edgier and more subversive (he also has a cameo).

Good thing for Jennifer's skimpy hot little outfits (her cleavage is usually in frame) & Ray crashing in at the end of the movie to bring on some real humor. The rest of the movie is some kind of mishmash of bad smoking jokes & romantic comedy that tries to be interesting. Kinda cute, if it wasn't loaded with unsuccessful jokes, it would play a whole lot better.

Heartbreakers is delightful. Sure, Jennifer Love Hewett's romantic subplot is boring, but her and Sigourney Weaver's relationship is engaging; the whole thread about the mother grifting Gene Hackman is hilarious; and Ray Liotta brings some real menace to the picture. Criticker, I'm disappointed that you've rated this so low.

Formulaic and predictable. The movie would be endurable if Hewitt had any charisma; the other actors, though talented, can't compensate for her or for the dreadful script. Jason Lee is absolutely wasted here, as his trademark smarmy wit is not used at all, and he is instead employed as cliched and boring, cookie cutter sensitive romantic lead.

The story is totally confusing, changing the course all the time. Even for a comedy, is not very acceptable. Jennifer Love Hewitt is hot here, but its performance is very bad.

A blithe caper romcom in the mode of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Heartbreakers on the whole gathers a screwball momentum which echoes the urbane comedies of the studio era. And like those films, it gets by on star power, which includes Weaver's command of farce and Hewitt's bouncier elements. Possibly the biggest wonder is Liotta, who delivers a very funny caricature of his mobster screen persona so absurdly over-the-top and consistently hilarious that he almost steals the movie even from Hackman.
