It's all-in with the comedy, and every joke lands with the solidity of Jimmy Tatro's jawline and the lightness of Noah Galvin's falsetto. The climactic performance stirs the heart, but only as much as music and passionate performers can - a bit more substance to the drama could have balanced the Buskin with the Sock* and made this a perfect treat - but as it is, it's a lot of fun, for everyone on screen and off. *I just learned that the drama masks are called this.

A real winner. Basically every single joke lands, the cast are incredible, and it has the perfect blend of admiration for and mockery of theatre types.

Surprisingly humorous, it moves briskly and introduces a variety of engaging characters. While the dramatic moments may not hit the mark, the exceptionally strong finale more than compensates for it.

Amazing. I was 'pissing my pants' at the chapstick bit. Great cast. So funny

Strong Christopher Guest vibes. Much like the best musical theater, an objectively ridiculous experience that will make you laugh and cry at the dumbest things.

I'm not really a fan of theater or musicals, so I felt a bit disconnected from the film. There were some funny moments, the cast was delightful and I found the climax quite emotional. Still, I wonder if the mockumentary style was the best choice to tell this story. I also found myself wishing they had invested more in main the film's world to a broader audience. It's easy to see how much better this could play if you're into the theater scene.

Cute and amusing enough, definitely has that improv smell to it but I had some chuckles. Ending songs pretty good. I kind of got suckered into it by Ayo Edibiri being in it though and her role is actually tiny - I’ve been pranked lol

The kids in Theater Camp have talent and there's plenty of humour in the script (especially the musical climax), but the plot isn't particularly novel nor well-paced, and the characters are rather grating. A mixed bag overall, but worth a watch if you're in the right mood.

What a joy to see a classic, old-school comedy which uses every minute of the movie for a machine gun fire of jokes. I was predisposed to dislike it as I find the adults it satirizes to be anathema, but I was won over. There is so much warmth here, amply helped by the many kids having fun on screen which is a bit of a cheat code. Combine that with a joke hit rate far above 50% and you’ve got a good old-school comedy; a loving satire so much more digestible that one soaked in bitter brine.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, the mockumentary framing is only there to justify the title cards, which are only there to beef up a thin script (the moment of the camp's salvation deserves more than a couple lines of text) but that's a small gripe. Every little snapshot of this niche, dramatic, weird, and wonderful world is perfect and hilarious ("Can I offer you a roll? Or the chilling tale of how I lost my daughter?") and I was crying with no tear stick in sight during the final number.

Nice to see the mockumentary genre again, especially in these capable hands. The film never drags, even in the muted dramatic sections, and it drew more than a handful of big laughs from me. Very entertaining and cute.

Too cheesy for its own good - this film is like a long episode of Glee, only set at (surprise surprise) summer camp, with mainly tween characters, teachers aside. This could be fairly enjoyable and a good bit of fun for some but its pretty predictable and won't appeal to all - if your not into this sort of film then this won't be for you obviously but if you enjoy seeing youngsters singing their heart out and like a feel good film then this may be for you.

More endearing and pleasant to watch than it ever is really laugh out loud funny. Don’t get the Guest comparisons at all since this lacks the acidic bend a lot of his films have.

A sweet mockumentary with funny characters, good jokes and an interesting setting - a good time from start to finish.

This is fine, but I am realizing that I find something off-putting about Ben Platt.

A bit uneven as it took a while to get going but got better as it went on through a strong finale. Very funny mockumentary.

I'm not a theatre kid but this mockumentary is good, even for people like me. It loses some steam sometimes but the laughs that are here are fantastic. The "Women Cannot Read" song is genius. But I knew I'd like this movie when in the first couple minutes I already laughed out loud. Jimmy Tatro is perfect for this type of movie. He was in it a bunch but I still wish he was in it even more.

This is a very well-written, well-acted comedy with some solid heart. It isn't a super fresh take or anything so it probably will be a niche comedy tops, but I'm very glad to have seen it. Fun times.

Based on the premise Theater Camp had the potential to be really cringey, but surprisingly it's not. Everything about this movie is just so confident and self assured. The casting is really good even down to a hilarious cameo at the end. Unfortunately things falter slightly in the third act as all of the various conflicts start to converge. Luckily though they're able to right the ship with a good ending. Not totally amazing, but there are a lot of lovely moments sprinkled throughout.
