A sadly typical film for Thornton and Blanchett: two great actors who seem to lend their names to an awful lot of mediocre rubbish. Easy enough to watch but ultimately pointless, it has neither the plot nor the script to warrant its two-hour run-time. Willis is pretty wooden too.

This is a fairly formulaic film of its time. Its entertaining enough to pass the time, with quirky characters, the whole good cop/bad cop mentality at play, some fairly amusing scenarios depicted but its also, for the most part, fairly run of the mill stuff. It has a bit of a comic book style look and feel to it, with one particular character being especially unpredictable and 'kooky'. Its pretty cheesy stuff, not without its amusement factor but its hardly an amazing film per se.

While all the elements (and pedigree) of a good entertainment are here, the film is too overlong and sluggishly paced to work; efforts at a more placid version of an Elmore Leonard tale are intriguing (especially with Willis, Thornton and Blanchett turning up the charisma as the colourful protagonists), but a lack of urgency, and an inability to get a handle on the correct tone for these characters and their knotty interpersonal relationships, makes it a minor chore to get through.

It's fine but ultimately forgettable. Thorton is the only one who really stands out.

Better than I think anyone would imagine, but also notorious for being the last movie that had the balls to put hair on Bruce Willis' beautiful bald head.

I love this movie. The roles of Willis and Thornton are excelent! Blanchet is wonderful either. Very funny and well done movie.

I really would recommend this. Its fun and definitely has good moments between Thornton and Willis. Worth your time if you come across it, but I wouldn't go on some sort of quest to find this movie and watch it.

Nicely written, and great chemistry between Willis and Thornton. Drags in the middle with way too much Blanchett screen-time and miscellaneous relationship throw-away dialog but what can you do. If only we could have had more development of the stuntman and less of Blanchett, particularly considering how crucial he was to the plot. Anyway, the ending is good.

Obviously, it is the cast that drags anyone to see this bore-fest. While mildly entertaining, Thornton is the only one who produces any laughs, and Blanchett is uncharacteristically bad. As I am from Oregon, however, it is fun to see them goof around in my stomping ground.

"Bandits" is highly amusing in the way that it embraces its own silliness with such admirable passion. Sure, the plot is absurd, but the script is deliriously zany and Barry Levinson delivers in the director's chair. The cast is also strong: Billy Bob Thorton is hilarious as a hypochondriac bank robber; it's no secret that Cate Blanchett is a red-headed goddess; Bruce Willis is typically bland, but anyways. Overall, it's fun, funny and entertaining if entirely disposable and forgettable. Yay?

I had a massive headache during the end of this movie, so I didn't really enjoy it. Seems like something I'd normally like, but I've seen way too much of Billy Bob's work now.

Um elenco super carismático e seguro, uma ótima trilha sonora, e a segura direção de Levinson, fazem um filme que poderia ser um "mais do mesmo" se tornar uma deliciosa experiência.

Not bad. Storytelling was a little odd, but it is a respectable chick-flick with action.

This is an interesting movie to watch. Its easy-going direction allows the story to simply flow, without asking you to make many moral judgments. Our heroes are bank robbers. Sure, they don't actually want to hurt anybody, but bank robbers they remain. They get caught up, unexpectedly, in a love triangle with no clear winners. The fact that you end up still caring about the characters is quite amazing.

A bit more than is expected. The formula format worked well with the story. One of the characters is a bit tiresome, Cate brings heat to the screen.

It was a mostly forgettable film. There was nothing wrong with the cast, which gave forgettable performances, or the forgettable director. This is a prime example of a film you'd watch in the middle of a Sunday afternoon because you have nothing to do, you're kinda tired, and you want to not have to think and yet, if you fell asleep, not worry about having missed anything.
