This was made for a YouTube audience and you can just tell. It's painfully incompetent all around.

Who is the target audience here? Not scary enough for adults, too scary for kids. So who? Wtf Emma?

The final act was lame, otherwise I probably would have went with a 65. I know it's not scary, but I'm also not going to sit here and say that I wasn't invested in the build to the final act. I know very little about the games, but I know people like the lore, and I thought the lore here was solid. Honestly though, as a premise it's less generic than "family moves into house and gets haunted," and I think that should count for something.

I have never played the games or really know what it is outside of the animatronic main guy. No way this needed to be a dull, two hour slog about trauma and grief lol

Idc what this was based on or who it was intended for, if you can't even do the basics of storytelling right with the fan service as the sugar on top, then you should start the sequel telling everyone they're idiots while thanking them for their money.

The use of the animatronics was quite good but everything else was lame. I’m usually a big mark for Blumhouse slop but this just wasn’t good

Not scary at all, of course, but also not as bad as everyone said.

As someone who doesn't know the lore, this was a very disappointing watch. I came in expecting horror and scares instead what I got was a bunch of robot bears standing in a circle making a pillow fort. It was horrible and not at all entertaining. Maybe if you're a tween you'll enjoy it. Just horrible.

A movie made for fans of the games, of which I am. It’s as goofy and harmless as a FNAF adaptation one would probably expect. It isn’t super original, and there’s a severe lack of good scares of tension, which tarnishes it a bit. But I really dug the tone, and I thought Mike was a character well worth rooting for. The puppetry and effects are very seamless, as was the production design. Not a great movie, but as far as video adaptations go, this really wasn’t bad. I’ll definitely watch more.

I know it's gimmicky and not very scary, but expectations kind of bottomed with the Winnie the Poo horror flick, so I went in expecting nothing but the worst, and found myself enjoying it as a mindless kid's adventure. Never played the games, but the kid's filled me in on the rules. Not that it had any baring on this plot. This was more a tacked on horror story with the Freddy stuff as the ticket seller.

It starts out promising, but can't maintain its tension as it struggles through a middle part riddled with strange tonal shifts and odd story decisions. Add to that an ending that rings very hollow, and you're left with a movie that is likely to disappoint even long term fans of the games.

Not the worst ever, not the best either. It mostly works on the little mood it builds and some mildly creepy reveals or the creepiness of the furries. It does take too long to start however, and the dream plot feels disjointed from the rest. I don't get why people online make porn of those characters. I do find the copycat movie with Nic Cage more fun.

Now I wish Katniss let Peeta die. What an awful way to put lipstick on a pig. Actually, that's not accurate. The subject matter was a decent concept - crazy animatronics that come to life and murder you. The backstory added to pad the ridiculously absurd 109 minutes was completely unnecessary. I don't need to know why these things kill, or if I did, save it for a sequel five movies down the line. I feel bad for people who paid to see it in the theater.

Tous mes points vont à la petite performance de Josh Hutcherson, et mon attache avec le personnage de ce dernier. FNAF est ici une adaptation pour les enfants, et la fin est ridicule.

Could I have stretched and given this a green-spectrum 70 rating? Maybe. I can't say there's anything all that remarkable about the much-anticipated FNAF movie - perhaps with the exception that it stands easily above most of its genre contemporaries this year on pure entertainment value. I had fun! The story mostly makes sense - though the motivations of the antagonist ("he's just crazy!") leave something to be desired. Called some "twists", didn't call some others. Should we see more? Ehh...

Never played one second of any of these games. Some of the lore seemed a bit interesting and I can see why the creature designs are iconic to the game fans. But man it’s kind of long and slow. Takes forever to get going and the endless endless dream sequences are just way too much. Should have been tightened up to like 90 minutes.

Five Nights at Freddy's feels too restrained and directionless to accurately capture the campy spirit or the palpable tension of the hit video game that spawned it.

Pretty truth to the games with some additions that doesn't annoy too much. Could be more scary and the table scene is ridicoulus stupid but all in all it's an okay movie adaptation.

Hayatımda seyrettiğim en cringe film. Security olarak çalışan kardeşimiz, küçük yaşta erkek kardeşini kaybeder. Kafasında unutamadığı bu olayı, her gece rüyalarında görür. Kız kardeşine bakmak zorunda kalır. 1 gece Freddy'nin Pizza dükkanında security olarak çalışır. Robotlar kendi kendine çalışır. İlginçti. Ama çok saçma. İlk yarıyı beğendim. Fakat çocuk kaçırma hikayesi It filmini andırıyor. Ama ilginç 1 Frankestain. Filmin sonunda, kötü adam yok etmece. Gece vardiyasında oyuncak var.

Scrubbed and sanitized to score a PG-13 rating, this horror movie isn’t scary, silly, nor campy enough, which sucks every last drop of fun right out of the killer premise.

Granted this is not my genre but this is a poorly made film with many plot inconsistencies and clunky dialogue. It jumps about in tone and doesn’t seem sure if it wants to be a family drama or a horror movie.

I haven't played the game, so I'm guessing there are a fair amount of references that will please fans of the video game, but as a horror movie or comedy, Five Nights fails. The murky backstory is both convenient and underdeveloped and none of the action that follows is remotely scary. The kills even happen largely off-screen, so we aren't even treated to inventive murder set-pieces, which feel like the type of thing this movie would have been all about.

There is so much lore to be explored and yet they put together the most basic film of all time. There was nothing to me that screamed horror about anything that happened in this film. It was boring and very predictable. It easily could have been a much better film but alas opportunities were squandered.

Never played the games or read any of the books. Niece loves this stuff. This movie is weird in that it's not for adults as it's a bit tame and lame, but it's also not for children. I suppose those in the 13-16 age group may like it. Had a few moments here and there, but the neverending dream sequences grew stale. Generous 5.1 I'd say.

Machiavelli once said: "A movie is better wacky than scary, if it cannot be both". FNaF is neither scary nor wacky enough but entertaining nonetheless. It spends too much time on the hole ridden plot than on things the audience actually wants to see and it is sad that it wastes it potential.
