Sarah Huttinger (Aniston) is in a fog. She's finally agreed to marry her boyfriend Jeff (Ruffalo), but isn't at all sure that marriage is what she really wants. Now she's on her way home to attend her sister's wedding, which means spending a lot of time with the tennis-obsessed Pasadena family that she's never felt quite a part of. It isn't until Sarah stumbles into a well-kept family secret that she starts to question her roots and sets off in search of the man who may have the answers she's looking for (Costner). Rumor has it that this movie was horrible. It is a sorry excuse for a movie. Jennifer Aniston is a basket case. I walked out of the room twice and was finally thrown out of the viewing room for good after excessive talking while the movie was going on (in my own house). The people associated with the Graduate should be turning over in their grave. If you have absolutely nothing to do, still do not watch this movie. I would rather Click.

The "twist" in this couldn't have come farther out of left field. It came from an opposing field across the parking lot, after being blown for miles from a much further away field, which is itself a part of a much larger field. And that field came from another dimension full of an infinite number of fields.

Kevin Costner will fuck your grandma, your mom and your sister. This movie should've just been called "This Dude Has Serious Range."

despite the all-star cast," Rumor Has It" is neither funny nor dramatic. both story and plot were ridiculous and confusing with underwritten character. even with the presence of Jennifer Aniston and hollywood veteran like Kevin Costner and Shirley MacLaine. this post-graduate romantic comedy is utterly shallow and predictable. it should be made for tv or straight to DVD.

"Sick, sick, sick" That's all Aniston says in this movie, she can't leave Rachel Green behind.

Oh...oh gawd. I hate Aniston to begin with then they add Costner into a Rom Com...then they have that old man sex up an entire family of women...I hate Hollywood sometimes.

This tells a thin story that didn't need to be told, and does it in a safe vanilla way that doesn't take chances or adequately explore the correlation between itself and "The Graduate." When it is all over, what the viewer is left with are a few quiet, nice scenes and some lush scenery of the California coast and Wine Country -- and that's about it. Otherwise, an understanding feeling of indifference permeates through this movie, a dull dramedy that clearly hadn't been thought out enough

Completely and utterly forgettable. And this from someone who owns a five-movie boxset of Aniston films (and likes four!).

Nice take as a "sequel" to The Graduate. Maclaine and Costner really add to the film.

Neat premise, decent cast, nice scenery in wine country, and some dramatic acting, but the writers really, really blow it. Could have been a better comedy. Could have adapted themes from The Graduate. Instead it plods along with Aniston's Rachel Green ditzy character making unbelievable blunder after blunder until it...somehow resolves? There were some nice subversion/twists such as the dad leading you on to thinking Costner lied about the soccer incident. Fav scene: Aniston meeting the son.

Cute movie in parts with an interesting premise although self-indulgent. They over-explained what The Graduate was about throughout this movie. I would have a preferred a movie that echoed the stylistic greatness of The Graduate while exploring its flaws more overtly. There's also an ick factor to a guy having sex with three generations of female relatives that I couldn't totally get past.

It is a pathetic movie. The people who made "The Graduate" should sue the makers of this movie for trying to associate it with this utter piece of crap. The only saving grace for this movie was the acting by Shirley MacLaine. Jennifer Aniston should stop doing movies, she cant act even if her life depended on it. Her expressions are a cliche.

As if being forced to sit through this drivel wasn't bad enough, it's also a sad indication of what a top class moron Rob Reiner has become. Seeing Aniston reprise the same role she plays in her ever increasing collection of generic rom-coms is no fun either. This movie is based on a gimmick; but it's a bad gimmick, that exists only to try and divert attention from the bland script, jokes and cast. Rumour has it that this movie is a bunch of shit.. and it is! Avoid like a kick to the ballsack.
