The very definition of good but not great. It doesn't do anything wrong per se, except maybe go on a little too long since there's not really enough content here to warrant the runtime. But it's never bad, usually entertaining, Costner and Harrelson have a good rapport. There are a few cool scenes. Direction, script, cinematography, etc are all good but hardly memorable.

BONNIE & CLYDE get the ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN treatment; not sure if this perspective was either necessary or a good idea - anyone familiar with Penn's film knows where this is going, and Hancock can't seem to bring much life to the man-hunt scenes, despite reliably charismatic work from Costner and Harrelson - their easygoing chemistry makes the journey fun, but not enough to offset the feeling of redundancy that permeates every frame. Climactic recreation of the execution falls sadly flat.

Two aging Texas Rangers join the manhunt for Bonnie and Clyde. Well it turns out that watching two old cops chasing after a pair of young, charismatic outlaws isn't nearly as exciting or interesting as actually watching the young, charismatic outlaws...who'da thunk it? Harrelson and Costner are both fine but the script they're working from is pretty limp, giving each of them a single solid monologue and not much else. Probably the most historically accurate of the Bonnie & Clyde movies, tho.

A decent historical drama, that stays true enough to real events to keep in some of the boring bits, but I'll be damned if it wasn't satisfying to see Bonnie and Clyde go down a tin can full of a bazillion bullets.

How much you like Costner and Harrelson will determine how much patience you have for 2 hours and 5 minutes of this: "Bonnie and Clyde been here?" "Nope." Costner strong-arms or Harrelson talks slick. "Well, yeah, you just missed 'em." And then they put a zillion bullets in 'em. It's a really good movie to watch if you can't get enough of old Fords on dusty roads

I enjoyed watching the performances of Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson. The watch pig was a brief but memorable addition. The plot moves along quickly but it did not provide enough engagement in the strategy for catching Bonnie & Clyde. Despite the sometimes slow pacing, it was entertaining and worth watching but there was nothing particularly spectacular about it.

Better than I expected. Solid in every aspect without really excelling in anything either. Costner and Harrelson are a great pair to carry the deliberately slow paced film, especially when the big players of Bonnie and Clyde are off screen for virtually all the runtime.

Old-timey feeling, and in a good way (aside from being a little long..in the tooth), with aging protagonists (with great chemistry) appreciably not dressed up as action stars (see their post-chase wheezing), a gorgeous folksy soundtrack + Americana landscapes cinematic combo, and a tried and true buddy cop plot. Hints at deeper themes (criminals' humanity-see Hamer with Clyde's dad-and police violence: see Maney's mesmerizing story around the card table) are unfortunately never followed up upon.

Overall, the film was fair, but it was interesting to see this subject approached from a different angle, namely one which doesn't glorify the crimes of Bonnie and Clyde as much as other projects have done.
