Easily the weakest of the "classic" Rankin-Bass holiday specials. Frosty is a charmless dimwit who kinda deserves to melt. "Happy birthday!" indeed. Jimmy Durante is the saving grace.

This Christmas special is all kinds of crazy!. The message that I got from this is, it's ok for a child to run away to the North Pole as long as they're back in time for dinner! And if you're cold in the forest, no worries, cause the animals will start a fire for you. Oh, and then Santa will return you home safely...not to your front door, mind you. He'll just casually drop you off on your roof and then fly away. Good luck getting down! The only thing worth saving from this is the title song.

I thought this was going to be a Christmas classic, but I watched it a few years ago with high hopes of a fun Christmas movie, but I ended up hating Frosty for being a fucking asshole.

I remember it being a Christmas staple as a kid, but man, it's kind of shitty. Bonus points for nostalgia I guess.

Okay, but gets grating once you're an adult. Somehow the cheesiness doesn't seem as worthwhile these days.

Passable fun, and I can imagine a sentimental, nostalgic attachment to this would probably scoot the score higher, but it is awfully slight and trite, even given its era and intent; and I'm not sure but does Santa employ emotional blackmail to enforce "two wrongs make a right" at the finale? Otherwise, pleasant enough with a voice cast that never quite rises above risible Saturday morning cartoons.

One of the all-time classic Christmas specials that still holds up so well all these years later. Just a fun, fast-moving way to spend 30 minutes on a chilly winter day.

Poorly made and not that entertaining unless you're like me and got a kick out of mocking it.

Still pretty good.

Remembered nothing of this from childhood viewing. On review found it to be very poorly made and barely capable of holding interest.

This is a fine telling of Frosty's story for the kids.

The other Rankin-Bass specials are better - this one's kind of icky and poorly plotted.

Jack Frost (the horror film, not the Keaton vehicle) is a better--and more accurate--telling of this tale

It's a holiday film classic. Undeniably cheesy, Frosty the Snowman is still fun and great for kids. With minimally religious tones for a Christmas film, it's not as hokey as some people might think. Really good!
