The first season was great and fresh and entertaining, the second one was fun and wild and dramatic, but the third one was uh... horny season? Dragged the show down so hard that it got cancelled. The whole point of talking about women's wresting in the 2010s is to show that GLOW were ahead of their time by not being just horny stuff for horny dudes. But then the show got so absurdly horny like daym everything was about sex where's the wrestling and acting and drama at?

Really entertaining. I'm surely in the minority on this, but I think this is Maron's career highlight, as well. He's just so perfect in the role. I'm definitely worried that it will follow in the steps of Jenji Kohan's other shows and immediately decline after its initial great season.

By no means a top tier show, it is however pretty funny. Top two highlights, Marc Maron and Annie's boobs.

I hated wrestling, but then I watched this and absolutely fell in love with GLOW's brand of campy 80s aesthetic and over-the-top soap opera storytelling. And while it's not that the cast of wrestlers aren't compelling, the show dips in quality once the show focuses more on their personal lives outside the ring, (because let's face it, your life will never be as exciting as pro wrestling.) The show was clearly set up for a fourth & final season, and it's a shame that Netflix cancelled it early.

This show has a unique setting, and the characters are interesting. I have to admit I'm a big fan of ALison Brie since Community, and she doesn't disappoint here, but the rest of the cast also does an equally great job.

Worries in the first couple with 'ironic' sexist and the worst kind of 'some boobs so guys will watch it' shite but that disappeared and left plenty of goofy fun.

Most prestige TV I've seen gets off on dangling a long string of mysteries over the viewer's head. This can make for great TV, but it makes more often for frustration and annoyance. GLOW and its cast & crew have made a show that celebrates and lives in the moment. It creates characters one can't help but love. When we don't love them, we at least care about them. This metafictional soap opera about wrestling checks every box for me.

I had many things I wanted to say but I'll just cut this review to bare bones. Any time shit is about to get to real, Maron comes in with a cynical yet empathetic joke that perfectly cuts the tension. Brie is killing it. Maron is killing it. The show (almost) never gets to up its own butt with commentary even though it still has something to say. What it does try to say doesn't overshadow or wreck the comedy/tone. Not actually jerk off material. I doubted the praise and was pleasantly surprised.

Cancelling this and Mindhunter made me think fuck Netflix (also we'd been leeching of my brother-in-law when the household limit came into effect), Amazon is now my megacorp streamer of choice. Brie & Maron knocked it out of the park.

Surprisingly solid. The supporting cast and side plots are mostly uninteresting and at times not believable, but the lead characters are entertaining and have a fair deal of nuance to them. I dug the 80's aesthetic, despite some of the odd anachronisms.

It's pretty entertaining, edgy and stylish overall but I feel it all needs a little more substance - it's quite erratic with its plot and overall tone. Hopefully all this superficial stuff is just paving the way for future, better seasons.

W4E1P1S1V1M2A1R2. This is way better than average but I couldn't figure out where that stems from. It's witty and entertaining, and probably could have sustained even more of the surprising depth. Just all around good tv. Edited after season 2 to reflect the excellent 80s soundtrack. Still great TV.

Enjoyable but not groundbreaking. The 1st half of S01, while building its characters, is rather aimless. The last 3 episodes are great and quick-paced. Although a little bit dramatic at times, there are lots of funny scenes throughout interspersed with iconic 80's anthems. More consistent in its 2nd season (or at least we know what to expect). Season 3 is the strongest so far, though some of subjects are a bit heavy-handed.
