So many plot holes and such bad acting. The awful unlikable main character is back and is somehow a hero again.

Y'all, the 1666 portion here is badass (see the superbly scored scene with Sarah and Hannah in the chapel: "I don't fear the devil.. I fear the mother who would let her daughter hang.. They want a witch? I will give them a witch"). The progressive twist on the previously told origin story is deliciously satisfying and retroactively adds some real beating-heart emotion and stakes to the trilogy, which is wrapped up nicely in the return to 1994, albeit without reaching the same emotional heights.

Fear Street Part Three: 1666 continues in the same vein of the previous movies with a decent plot and lots of gore churned into an enjoyable thriller. Imagining the same actors in past characters was a good choice instead of introducing new ones, created a leeway for the movie to ignore establishing characters and jump right into the plot without making it uninteresting. The big payoff in the end is satisfying enough after spending three movies to earn it.

The final part of the Fear Street trilogy. Closer to the "Crucible" than "The Witch", part 3 does everything part 1 blundered on but way better. It's heavier on the relationship drama than part 2, but it handles it better by giving Kiana Madeira more quality material and Olivia Welch way less lines to mess up. Less of a slasher movie this time, instead we get a supernatural wrap up to the plot. It all feels satisfying and doesn't feel cheap or unanswered.

The first half (the actual 1666 part) was a lot better than the second half, which had a lot of plot contrivances and was practically a re-hash of ideas from the first film. Did getting chosen to be killed actually have no relation to disturbing Sarah's remains? What did Nick have to gain from sending Ziggy the note? Why didn't Nick just write all the protagonist's names onto the rock as soon as they were on to him? And why didn't Sam explode when all the other killers did?

For me, this definitely stuck the landing. The villain was spot on and perfectly foreshadowed, I liked the evolution of the characters over the series and the puritan bit. Am sort of baffled by people saying it's like The vvitch, because um, that didn't invent the history behind witch trials and executions or the reasons those took place. And this story of privileged and underprivileged really works for a young audience, which is what this film is!

By far the weakest of the trilogy and the most heavy-handed.

The jump back to 1666 let's us leave behind the slasher-light formula of the first two in favour of a folk-horror-light formula, and I think we're all better off. This one has some mildly creepy imagery and a decent twist that upends the assumptions of the previous two films. When we return to 1994 for the final act ... it's pretty okay.

Yeah, yeah, it's The Witch, we get it. Let's see your Netflix algorithm-based same-sex romance version of The Lighthouse where every other character from 1994 & 1978 is a talking seagull.

Oh! Ok. This movie series actually has a plot... The third part is so much tighter, interesting, and well-made compared to the pathetic part one and two. Good I lasted long. The combined three part run time of around five hours can be squeezed into about three and half hour mark with major revisions in the first two parts, and then this series would actually turn out decent.

And so it fizzles to a close with a YA adaptation of The Vvitch. The worst bit about Fear Street is the missed potential. There's so much they could have done with this setup; gone for trashy fun, deep dives on historical trauma and power differences, take a leaf from Kent or Aster and sat in the characters' reality, etc etc. Instead, it mostly just looks like a bunch of period-specific set pieces vaguely tied together by whatever they need to make up to get there. Pity.

I wish you could rate this as a trilogy. All put together it was well done, and had a compelling story. 1666 was great, but the momentum it built up fades a bit when you get back to 1994. The action was good, but lacking in depth. The ending almost feels generic in a way that left no more surprises, it didn't lessen the enjoyment but I do wish the villain had a little more something. I'm not a big fan of sequel hooks and they definitely attempted it. Just let the gays win, and leave it at that

A let down. I didn't even expect a lot from this one, but this third installment is the least scary one of a fairly toothless trilogy too concerned with representing the values of gen Z to actually pay any attention to what makes a good horror movie. At risk of being called a bigot, I take issue with the demographics, it's 1666 and your protagonist is a mullato gay woman, do you really think people would bother to blame her for being a witch before burning her at the stake? Pander much Janiak?

This was works because the trilogy works as a whole. Loved the idea of having the same actors from the previous two, appear in this one. Definitely won't work as a standalone, but I don't think that's what was intended for this trilogy.

The trilogy goes out with no quality dip but no bang either, and the similarities between the instalments raise the question whether this could've all been one film. The medieval backdrop falls flat (maybe because the faces are the same from the modern settings and the language is an odd amalgam) and for the most part Sarah Fier's origin story is exactly what you'd think it'd be, except for the twist, which displays a welcome social subtext. The engaging climax stands out yet is far from great.

After the hip and lovingly-crafted 90s and 80s slasher throwbacks, this is all a bit humdrum and unadventurous. Can't help but feel they should have just started here and gone all-in on its legit horrific historical premise. As it is, though, the writers wrote themselves into a bit of a corner and couldn't find an novel pay-off. The ending is trite and silly even by late-90s/millennial horror standards and it's not particularly compelling. Not bad, just damned by the success of parts one & two.

While the weakest of the trilogy- it really tries to do way too much in too little time & I'm not entirely sure everything adds up the way it should- it won me over by the halfway point & I was thoroughly invested in it from that point forward. The cast once again do a fantastic job, & the way it's shot is beautiful. The plot armor is thick in this one, though, which killed a bit of the tension. Not a huge fan of the final twist, either. Still, a solid finale to a surprisingly fun trilogy.

Weakest of the three for sure. I do like how this series was just perfectly made for the Netflix algorithm. Oh, you like Stranger Things how about 1994. Oh you watched a slasher? How about 1978. Damn, you watched the witch? Here's a movie for you! They got their bases covered here!

Mostly hit or miss, specially with lack of imaginative ideas to convey its mythology, but it at least breaks some conventions by placing wicked male white legacy on trial -- forget witches and curses when men strike a deal with the devil to mantain their privileges and opress everyone else. Kind of convoluted and 20min longer than ir should be, but still an enjoyable ride -- also, the 1994 section is way better than the entire 1994 film.

Aesthetically pleasing enough which is what Netflix wants. Basically shoved your nose in its social messaging just like Netflix wants. Pretty limp ending to a decently fun series. Intrigued by more stuff like this

Tied with part 1, it still had some of the 90s nostalgia for me, but 1666 is the more horrifying of the years. The trilogy isn't really scary so much, but this has the best imagery. It tied everything up nicely, had some good twists (like the other two did). Really felt for these characters by this point. I also liked how they reused the 1994 characters for 1666. Only thing I wish it had more of was the pastor. Seriously, THAT scene with him was awesome and I wanted more. He was the best

For me these movies went from best to worst. The beginning of this one is very interesting and compelling but once we shift in time again, it becomes kind of boring. The same gimmick as in the first movie is used for the last fight, but it's made less compelling and manages to have zero excitement to it.

All three movies outstay their welcome but decent kills and passable drama keep it fresh. Each film contains at least one standout moment or spectacular kill.

Well that was predictable from early in the first film - it's always the sympathetic but otherwise pointless character! And ye olde town is stage school embarrassing. Just one afternoon with the accent coach! 7 buildings for 60 people who are always evenly spaced and walking somewhere. I like to imagine they're all off to each other's houses, only for everyone to inevitably find that nobody's home.

As ambitious as the 17th century story telling is, the writing and acting aren’t good enough to carry it. That being said, I thought the second half of this was one of the most enjoyable parts of the trilogy, even with its flaws. These films could’ve been a lot better, but they’re decent enough for what they’re attempting. I’d like a TV-MA Goosebumps anthology reboot next if anything.

This, for me, was the worst part of the trilogy. The 1666 part of this movie was the most boring. I understand why they reused the same actors, but at the same time disliked that they did not use other actors. The accent used by the actors felt very forced and the movie only started picking up pace once the first killings happened. Nevertheless I did enjoy the trilogy.
