"The oscar winning movie Harry and the Hendersons". Simply love the fact that this movie promotes itself as an oscar winner. It DID win an oscar, nothing wrong there, but it was in make-up a category with only one other nominee. That's like calling yourself a doctor when you have a doctorate. You ARE a doctor, but people are going to be a bit upset, when you try to give them enamas. Long story short. This IS an oscar winning movie, but come on people it's not like it's an oscar winning movie!

No one can say John Lithgow isn't committed to his roles. The fact that he was never allowed a proper follow up to this where he's the fish out of water, Henderson and the Harry's, is a crime that few fully understand the ramifications of.

Watching this dumb movie inspires the same sort of wonder in the viewer that has kept believers looking for bigfoot through the ages... Where did it come from? Why is it here? Did I actually see it? How does this exist? DOES IT exist? Was 1987 the PERFECT time for a movie like Harry and The Hendersons to be made? How much of pop culture is influenced by this movie? **Bonus points for the timely criticism of Ronald Reagan.** Fine, but overly long. Would have worked better at a cool 90 minutes.
