The technological premise of this episode requires the audience to accept two propositions: (1) that the brain or the mind is a kind of computer that is therefore amenable to being translated into digital data and uploaded to a computer; (2) that such uploading amounts to the continuation of the same mind's existence. I don't accept either proposition, which is not to say that the story is without interest. A related idea is pursued in Michel Houellebecq's The Possibility of an Island.

Easily my favorite episode from Season 3. Who'd have thunk that a privileged cis white male like myself could enjoy a biracial lesbian love story? I actually hope that this tech becomes a reality in my lifetime.

The way the onion is slowly peeled back works really well here. It also doesn't hurt that I loved the over-the-top 80s-ness of it.

The story doesn't feel very well-structured and well-paced, and it certainly gives a feeling that the arrangement of a lesbian relationship is for something other than a genuine requirement of the plots. All said, it still shows potentials to inspire possibly interesting questions, about finitude as what defines the weight of living, and how meaningfulness can't arise from anything but the emotional and retentional-protentional symphony of intimacy and separation: effectively, the dance of love.

A very intriguing futuristic concept that could stir up some philosophically and technologically minded conversations/arguments, and the way it is carefully revealed in this episode is admirable for its focus on characters before story. The only problem is I don't think Brooker can write a love story that isn't so horribly conventional, with the lovey dialogue just as cliched as the time specific soundtrack. Someone remake this with a proper script and better choice of songs.

This was not one of my favorites, it seemed to run on.

I liked the jumps to different centuries but they did not build a interesting concept in the end.

Story telling was better than almost every Black Mirror episode I've ever seen so far.

I don't like that this episode was the one to get all the hype. There are many better Black Mirror episodes that I'd rank higher.

Ticks all the diversity boxes at once while offering up a tangible Shangri-la setting for the characters involved, well, except for the guy lurking in the 80's arcade.

Not quite "Hang the DJ" but easily one of the best.

Loved this. My favourite Black Mirror to date.

The best episode of this show by a huge margin. Black Mirror is weird because it's generally pretty bad at satire and when it succeeds it's often in spite of whatever obvious point it's trying to make. This one ditches it entirely to go for the emotional jugular and triumphs as a result.

One of the better Black Mirror episodes. It sticks out as being more thought-provoking, and therefore lingers with you longer than most of the 3rd season episodes. Potentially best episode of the season.

A very sweet, thoughtful episode that might of either shown its hand to early or dragged on just a little to long. I can't quite figure it out. Either way the insanely likable leads make this a joy to watch. And you can't say that often about Black Mirror episodes

With "Men against fire" the weakest ones although beautiful story here.

Thought-provoking, but - as with the best episodes of the show ('The Entire History of You' & 'Be Right Back' & 'Hang the DJ') - it is just as much about the characters as it is about the sci-fi. Less cold and cynical than we've grown used to.

I can't really explain what I found so utterly, utterly disturbing about the concept of this episode without massive spoilers (no, it's not two women falling in love). But this, like most episodes of Black Mirror, was a fantastic human sci-fi story. What I don't understand was this weird emotional response that happened at the end of it. I think I did something wrong, because I didn't feel hopelessly defeated when it was over.
