A little tacky, but big guy beats up other guys is perfectly fine television.

The whole thing feels like that one bicep handshake scene from Predator. Which is fun... The guy talking about the return of the 'strong male character' can eat a d--k, though

Not the prestige television show it wants to be. Everything feels phony the way Lifetime movies do, but like the best lifetime movie ever. The dialogue sounds like DIALOGUE, the music and cinematography could not be more generic, and the supporting characters all feel like actors playing dress-up. I can't tell if Ritchson is a good actor or not, he's very one-note, but I think that's just the character. He fits the part way better than Cruise at least. Lightly enjoyably regardless.

Everything about it feels fundamentally “been there done that” - the way the investigation plays out, mystery in a small town, the bruiser vs lots of dudes fight scenes. Nothing badly executed exactly, just all very “yep, seen this a thousand times.”

Amazon seems satisfied with churning out action shows seemingly molded from the 90s action movie playbook, and god knows this one clings to every conceivable cliche the genre offers like scripture, but there's just enough selfawareness and humor to make it watchable.

strong series with good action and fight scenes, the intricate story also makes you look forward to the next episode.

It's a bit monotonous at times, and nothing really inventive exists in it. BUT the characters are likeable and it is often fun to see a big guy run around just beating the shit out of everything.

Season 1 was really solid. So that's what Reacher is supposed to look and act like. Season 2 was a step down. I feel like it set us up for some things that never paid off. It's decent TV.

Starts out pretty great and has a lot of good action sequences, but as the series goes on it gets more and more routine/predictable/unimaginative.

What happend to this tv show? I though it was about big guy stumping everybody else and occasionally one of the side characters shows up to help him, great season 1. I'm 1 and a half episodes in and he still didn't stop crying, some random flashbacks I really don't care about. Also out of all the side characters to keep into s2 did it really have to be her? Every time she was on the screen in s1 the show turned into a **** measuring contest.

I never thought I’d say this about another man but I think Reacher got way too swole for season two. He looks about ten years older, his face is puffy, I was afraid his heart would explode anytime he shook that juicy physique around. Of course I wouldn’t mind getting lost forever in his immense and terrible flesh but I still say he was uncomfortably big. Hopefully he turns down the gas a bit for season three. This show is absolute trash and I’ll happily watch the next thirty five seasons of it

This is closer to the original vision of Reacher: a man who lives for violence but with a benevolent eye toward putting things right, basically crack for bourgeois altruists who want pacifism administered by force. The cinematography is excellent, which seems to be the Amazon Prime angle on getting into the industry, and the acting is solid. Expect systematic violence against bad guys and ambiguous endings and you will enjoy it.

Season 1: This was fine but it would've worked better as and should've been a two-hour film. Season 2: The show is really stupid but it's watchable and even fun at times. Season 3: Just dumb fun.

So much better than the movie(Sorry Tom Cruise, but you are way too little to play this guy) . Cast was amazing, action was great. Just a fun show. Looking forward to season 2.

Its charm is in the cartoonish simplicity beneath the wannabe-elaborate plot. It's good vs. evil. Reacher is the prototype 80s action hero, omnipotent and clean. The villains are ruth- and soulless moneygrubbing murderers. And it's played so straight and over the top that it's really fun every now and then, especially violence-wise. It continually loses momentum, and the uberman-shtick gets old, but i welcome this as step in a "less politics, more entertainment"-direction.

This was fun, charming shlock to begin with, seemingly aware of the waters in which it treads and executing its' tropes well. Problems start to crop over time though as the initial charms starts to cool. The overbearing dadcore of it all is nostalgic, but with the charm comes the "'MERICA, fuck yeah" undertones and a main character with a destructive moral point of view that never seems to be addressed, which starts to make this Big Mac of a show leave a bad aftertaste before I am even finished.

The book didn't age too well, and the movie makes it more than obvious. The last episode is in the realm of unbearable cringe. Might as well have been casted with John von Damme and Dennis Rodman and shot in the 90s. As strange as it may sound: the first Jack Reacher stands untouched.

Read several of these to kill time at an old, slow job. For this first season they have adapted the first and one of the worst ones, a far-fetched, plodding, and corny whodunit about counterfeiting. Hopefully there will be more though because later installments are more exciting and the ludicrous main character is embodied well by an actor who will age nicely into the role. The modest production value also has me missing the Cruise movie of yore.

I can forgive the fact that Reacher walks like he has shit himself (my partners wonderfully erudite summary of this series) because he did at least try to embody Childs character, and the series didn't shy away from the violence of the book. We binge watched it, and whilst it didnt give us anything new it was as entertaining as the book was. . Willa Fitzgerald is destined for greater things, I am sure

A lackluster mystery with no surprises that is nonetheless held together by its endearing characters. Until the ending that is, which falls flat trying to resolve everything cleanly for the next season.

Barely average, with the writing being the main problem. Has some fun action, but that's it. Characters explain to each other things they already know, every antagonist spells out their evil plan like it's a 90's cartoon, and I saw many of the twists coming long before they did. UPDATE: tried season 2. It's worse.

Except for the fact that Jack Reacher is an over-the-top muscular Sherlock, everything else is predictable and to put it mildly - boring. The supporting characters are unimaginative and bleak. I am doubling down on the muscular part, because I remember Alan Ritchson in Blood Drive and the difference is staggering, in the worst possible way.

Thank you for bringing back a Strong Male Character in an action role! I am so tired of the Jane Wickism! Thad :) does a great job as Reacher! I think he might have done a better job than Cruise did in the movies. Very good story, and was fun to watch. I cannot wait for season 2.
