The first big Moriarty episode of the show, and it doesn't disappoint. Fast-paced and highly suspenseful throughout, leading to a fantastic cliffhanger. Excellent.

Right up until Moriarty shows up, this episode is awesome. Sherlock is knocking down targets one after the other, which sets it apart from the other episodes. A great change of pace. But what almost ruins it is an astoundingly bad portrayl of Moriarty as some sort of femmy Irishman who likes to raise his voice with excitement every other sentence. I was not impressed, that man was NOT a criminal mastermind.

Is this not just an episode of the TV series? If it is, then it's a great fucking series, and this sounds like one of those episodes that I really enjoyed. Are we calling this a movie, now? TV special? The mysteries of how British television works. Mind-boggling.

Some fantastic thrills and charming character interplay but also starts to burst at the seams with fast paced and increasingly silly plotting.

Moriarty was extremely underwhelming, no way he runs an empire.

This show is so overrated! Or, that is, the first season did next to nothing for me. What's with all the hype?

holy MIND FUCK! was this episode great! i was never a fan of "crime dramas" before sherlock, because they all felt so formulaic, to the point where you could tell who the killer was within the first 10 minutes. but boy did this show take that formula and turn it on its head! i got a real kick out of the twist here and having dabbled in tv writing, i can really appreciate how near impossible this feat was to achieve.

Cumberbach and Freeman make a perfect pairing as Holmes and Watson. Their chemistry is really good and is helped by the excellent writing.

I enjoyed this episode the best so far. The editing is still shockingly horrid, but I'm hoping it'll get better down the line.

The Great Game is on the same level as the premier. Being a beautifully well written and flawlessly performed masterpiece of television. This time the inclusion of Andrew Scott as Moriarty, even for a short time made all the difference in the world. The final scenes in the pool are absolutely perfect, thrilling and can't be praised enough.

Jumpy, and a few of the reveals are a bit too obvious, but otherwise still quite entertaining.

After another 80 minutes of great buildup Moriarty is finally introduced. And I was slightly disappointed by the raging lunatic that is presented. Hopefully he is more competent than he seems. And I can't wait to spend more time with Holmes and Watson.
