The second batch of episodes, begins with a bang, a slight uptick in entertainment. Even though she's not a fully fledged nemesis, the Irene Adler trumps this series' Moriarty in every way. She's intelligent, threatening, conniving, and extremely sexy, but not without endearing qualities--most aptly described as a femme fatale. I'm pretty impressed with the continued quality of the series.

The best episode of Sherlock, and one of the best episodes of TV ever. I honestly doubt they'll ever top it. EDIT: They didn't.

This episode was indeed the gift that kept on giving; thrilling, funny, suspenseful, sexy, mysterious and most of all engaging through and through. Watch it!

Pure class. This is both "Sherlock" as a concept and a character at his peak. The screenplay, cast interaction and direction is of an exceptional standard. One of the best things on TV in an age.

Seriously, I do not understand the hype about this series, I saw the first series and it was not bad but here I left at the hour because where is it the Mystery? Not near Holmes, that is for sure.

'A Scandal in Belgravia' boasts great style and a sultry chemistry between Cumberbatch and Pulver, but the ludicrous nature of its plot and an arguably problematic portrayal of Irene Adler and her dynamic with both Holmes and Moriarty renders this story a guilty pleasure at best.

I didn't love it, but it's much better than the second and third episode of season one.

The best installment of the series thus far: incredibly written, very intricate and full of all the elements that makes this a fascinating program.

A great use of the Irene Adler character. Full of exciting twists and turns that made my head spin in the best way, carrying straight through to an awesome, goosebumps-inducing final moment. You can tell they wanted to come back for season 2 strong, and they succeeded. That said, --SPOILERS-- "I am SHER-locked" made me roll my eyes a little.

I haven't watched any episode of this series. And decided to begin with this. A masterpiece. Another couple for me to ship. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Sherlock in love as a master. A classic and a new obsession of mine.

So far the best of the Sherlock episodes, which is no small feat. The plot, the performances, and the cinematography all put this at an extraordinarily high level of quality television, and that's before the emotional, perfectly executed final minutes.

The editing stopped being horrible, finally. This episode was quite engaging, so that's fun. I'm still not hugely into it, but whatever.

With more emotional story telling and a worthy adversary in The Woman. The chemistry between her and Sherlock carry the episode through to its wondrous ending. The one thing that elevates this episode beyond the other perfect entries is the score.

My favourite episode of the series from what I've seen. Manages to find an appropriate tonal gear for all the crazy plot curves while keeping the entertaining character dynamics as the engine of the story. Wait, this metaphor isn't handling very well...

this is the pinnacle of television and film and storytelling and just life. this is sherlock in peak form, at the height of plot and character. every moment of this episode was so simultaneously mind-boggling and delicious. i won't even get into all the visual innovation and the details of the writing and performance that made this episode fantastic. this show is always pushing the envelope for innovation, and has left me forever sherlocked.

The first 5-10 minutes are merely ok, but it soon finds its footing and becomes better than the previous episodes. There's something about the tone of the series in general, and particularly this episode, that really appeals to me. That sarcastic tone that blends seriousness with playfulness and a good dose of dry humour strikes a wonderful balance. There's some mystery solving going on, but most of it is an elaborate cat and mouse game and that's where it's at its best.

This started out in a promising manner, with Irene Adler being an incredibly fascinating character. Unfortunately, things kind of fall apart towards the end, especially with the whole "SHER-LOCKED" thing.
