Bond Review: I ordered take out. Long Take out. Honest Review: Captures the stressful atmosphere unimaginably well but did little more than allowing characters to bring their baggage to the night, there's little chance for any cathartic redemption which might've elevated this even more. Are My Knees Shaking Review: My knees are shaking. I had to leave the room at one point to get a pencil so that I could come back, hold it and accidentally snap it in half.

Incredible for a single-shot movie - taking place everywhere in and around a crowded restaurant. Must have required massive work from everyone involved. Dialogue is excellent and Stephen Graham's is a powerhouse performance. I expected something a little more from the third act, I guess, but it seems petty to complain.

Its greatest asset is obviously the long take that is executed to, well, perfection. You can't help but admire the amount of preparation and rehearsal that must've gone into this, regardless of the single location. Somewhat disappointed the film fizzles out in the 3rd act, only to conclude with what is technically a non-ending. Some will say that's the point, but I wish the story had been better matched to its approach.

Unlike some recent films that utilize a similar approach (I'm looking at you "1917"), it's not distracting here and I frequently forgot all about it. It doesn't follow Graham for the whole film, branching off to follow other characters and fill in multiple plots. It all escalates to a reveal that was nicely seeded and came as a mild surprise, tying together a lot of the film's strands.

Brillant combination of form and content. As I've read elsewhere, I too was out of breath at the end. This shouldn't have gotten the oscar for direction because of the perfect performance of the one take trope - it should've gotten it because this direction was the perfect way of telling this story.

It's a good movie, but I almost can't recommend it. Like it was so well made and immersive that I felt what the characters felt trying to multitask and deal with it all and the end result was an hour and a half of feeling unpleasant and on the verge of quitting. So if you don't know what it's like to work a job like this, then watch this so you can learn and try to be more patient and kind with people who work these jobs. If you already know then strap in for a PTSD flashback of this nightmare.

As a rule, I'm a big fan of the intensity and feeling of immersion that long takes can add to a movie, and this single-shot movie is no exception to that rule.

Was I too naive to believe it was going to end with everyone smiling, despite what was happening during that hectic night? (But maybe the title already hinted at the ending.) A good camerawork and truly realistic performances keeps the movie lively and captivating, maybe all too much, to the point of stressing me out.

Great film. The pace was absolutely superb. You feel the pressure, tension and stress every second. It's even more engaging on people who have hospitality industry experience. The ending could've been better tho.

Anxiety attack of a movie. Once the night gets underway there is no time to take a breath, its on to the next problem. Stephen Graham is fantastic as a head chef struggling to balance his own problems with that of his restaurant. Just watch it you will not be able to look away.

More please. I would've loved this to be 30 minutes longer with some resolution to the racist guests and other staff. But that is just testament to how engaging I found the writing and pacing.

Near perfectly shot and very well acted slice of life story. Really everything works quite well within the constraints given.

Thrilling, even if you can see most of the twists coming miles away. Excellent performance to get it done in one actual shot.

The single shot movie should usually use this technique for tension, which is utilised fairly well here -- I get more tense over the culinary issues rather than the ownership conflict or the obvious asshole characters, but the chef characters work more interestingly, their bitterness (and some warmth) towards each other coming out through top-notch performances (particularly the always great Stephen Graham). Disappointingly, this movie ends its single shot on a flat climax.

Filmed in a single take this is absolutely riveting with superb acting all around. Chekov’s nut allergy is too obvious. But that’s a minor complaint. What did lower my rating is the ending, which was a way too clean cut movie ending for a realistic slice of life drama like this. Advice: don’t watch this when you want to relax after a stressful day at your work, or maybe do to relativize it.

Excellently executed piece of social commentary -Stephen Graham is brilliant but so are all the characters around him- a must watch for anyone who eats in a restaurant.

I have a soft spot for single shot films but there isn't enough of the rest of it to carry this any higher.

It's definitely interesting, but should have been a tv show, or at least a longer movie. It ends exactly at a boiling point, but I found it to be more disappointing, than endearing. The camera work was great, definitely a selling point.

Boiling Point is a gripping portrayal of a night off the tables within an upscale restaurant. The film is also a single long-take (specifically 3 out of 4) that is not only well-executed, but manages to evoke the sense of claustrophobia, heightened tension and all-round business that the jobs entail. The interactions between staff & tables were fab, though the driving plot that crops up in the 3rd act felt contrived. Great dynamic performances from the cast in a fitting 90 minute service.

Wonderfully immersive. One take w improvisation throughout. A really solid class in tension building. Graham was in top form as per usual. Easy to miss some of the mumbled dialogue here and there. Recommended 7.2 rating for me.

You can definitely feel that this was a passion project. Meticulously crafted to just heap piles and piles of anxiety on you. I've never worked in a proper restaurant, but now I feel like I have.

perfect use of one-shot that actually elevates the narrative. it works as an apt metaphor for a political reading of such a workplace but more importantly, this is a thrilling experience that doesn't contradict its politics. graham is just brilliant. wonderful gem of a film.

A great world metaphor. Too much tension and shit going on to find the time to resolve any of the tension and shit. Don't know if I'm reading it right but this is the only way I can excuse a lack of ending!
