A post-"Scream"(1996) Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson teamed back up to tackle the werewolf genre, but unfortunately this was their disappointing result. While I might have some personal nostalgia for the movie, after sneaking out of the house late one night to the theater with my cousin, back in the day when I still had my boyhood crush on Christina Ricci, yet the movie is still a forgettably generic cheesy 00's horror film. Only for lycanthrope lovers looking for ways to spend their full moon.

Sad to see Christina Ricci wasting her talent this way...

Craven collected two cheques for filming two different versions of this crap, but somehow I can't imagine the other version being better. Craven and Williamson tried to reinvent the werewolf horror sub-genre like they did the slasher genre 9 years earlier, but they were applying old rules to a new game; with gorno on the rise, this kind of playful po-mo self reflexive horror felt desperately dated in 2005. A similar fate would befall the creative team's next project: Scream IV.

Cursed is a disappointing, formulaic horror movie (complete with ample references to classic horror films that did not use this formula) that highlights once again that Wes Craven somewhere in the 90s ushered any real talent he had out the door. slowly builds to its predictable end, a werewolf crawls on the ceiling for some reason, and all that's missing out of the generic horror formula is a surprise "IT'S NOT OVER!" ending.

Derivative werewolf nonsense with lame teen-soap-opera sentimentality, poor special effects and a plot that recycles every horror trope in the book. The standard is set early on when Ricci forces another car off the road and sends it careening down a ravine. Her next line is: "Someone could be hurt!". Well, gee, y'think?! It's that bad.

On a clear, full moon night, Ellie (Christina Ricci) and her brother Jimmy lose control and another road user crashes her car into a ravine. They try to help her, but during this rescue, the brother and sister are bitten by a dog-like creature. Their lives have not been the same since then. The accident turns out to be much more than a fateful combination of circumstances. The brother and sister suddenly have inexplicable physical powers and are both extremely irritable.

Total is lacking of imagination of the scriptwriters and even the persons in charge of the special effects.

Quite the cast of child stars that survived the 90s, the film feels more like a 90s nostalgia trip... the problem is it was made in 2005. If you like campy horror and Wes Craven and have nothing to do on a rainy Sunday, it's worth checking out. Otherwise you may want to check out something else...

Disappointing--bad script and cheesy performances. Ricci just doesn't have the horror chops for this type of movie.

Obviously Cursed isn't meant to be taken seriously, as it recycles all the wornout clichés of every teenage horror movie in the book. But in doing so, it manages to entertain as a cheesy parody of itself. And the casting is indeed marvellous. Cursed is in many ways related to Scream although it doesn't quite reach it's full potential.

This movie is just one of those movies that boggles the mind. There were parts where I was laughing out loud when I should not have been. It's such a sloppy movie and Wes Craven deserves a wag of the finger.

The Craven/Williamson duo once again delivers, this time putting their signature style on the classic werewolf tale. Could have been both scarier and funnier, but it was definitely clever and satisfyingly gory/twisted/entertaining.

Lazy. There is no other word for this movie. It's just a lazy, half-assed spoof of the werewolf sub-genre. Which is an absolutely redundant concept, since few werewolf movies of the last 30 years haven't been outright spoofs of the sub-genre to begin with.

I have to say that after The Howling Reborn, this was pretty tolerable film. Yeah, there was a lot of useless cheap scares, the story was lame and the effects... But it was worth to see Ricci a couple of times in tight pajamas. So, for really loyal Ricci fans only.

This movie seems to have a very bad rap, but I much prefer it to the similarly camp horror film, Scream, that I cannot fathom the mass appeal of. I think this film's humor and fun work better and more consistently and the cast tends to do a better job, lead by the solid Jesse Eisenberg and Christina Ricci. Decent for a horror fan and highly watchable, at least for one viewing.

Hollywood's spree of terrible werewolf films continued with this piece of crap, which was cut into pieces to get a PG-13 once everyone in the business office realized it was terrible and tried to get some of their initial investment back.

This werewolf flick fails to deliver on many points. Cliché storyline, bland characters and lycanthropes that just plain out fails to be scary, it's hard to believe that the person who dreamt up Freddy Krueger would come with such a lacking experience.

Unlike what most say, this is one of Craven's better flicks (as long as you can take your horror light-hearted). The filmography is well done and the effects are pretty good as well. The story moves along at a good pace and the acting is quite good.

It starts promising, but really loses its steem sooner than expected. Siblings with no parents try to understand their place in the world - she works for a TV talk-show in LA, he is a nerd struggling to get along in high school - facing supernatural trauma when they are about to become werewolves. Ugly CGI. But the main issue here is the total lack of personality given this was seen as the new Craven/Williamson project. Kyle attacking the siblings in the finale doesn't make any sense at all.

Flat, obligatory horror outing is a particular disappointment given the Craven/Williamson reteaming, and a fine cast ready to play, but it’s as if Craven completely forgot how to make even the most rudimentary jump-scares work – there’s nary a moment that is genuinely scary or suspenseful. It’s left to the cast to get the most from what they are given, and they all give it the good college try – especially Greer, who is always impossible to tamp down!

I thought this was a fun, goofy and entertaining flick. I wish the studio hadn't forced CGI on Wes Craven and co, but oh well. Not sure why this gets so much hate.
