Bender, Zoidberg, Professor Farnswoth, The Robot Devil, Hedonism-bot, Dr. Banjo, just to name a few... Futurama boast such a huge portion of my favorite characters, that I can forgive the odd weak episode, and the later seasons' struggle to find it's tone.

MAKE A SEPARATE WEBSITE FOR TV, OR MINIMALLY BREAK THE SHOW DOWN BY INDIVIDUAL SEASONS - Fuck Criticker for adding TV series without making an entire dedicated website for television. It's too hard to rank a show based on a entire series and should minimally be broken down into separate seasons. Futurama is the perfect example of this. I still haven't seen the last episodes of Futurama because the last two seasons were almost unwatchable despite it being my favorite show of all time.

Unlike other shows, its unevenness is literally episode to episode, rather than season to season. The good episodes are as good as any other like tv show. The stories were often legit sci-fi (maybe ripped from something else, but done well anyway). I really hated this show when it first aired, but I grew to love it. It is also notable for being one of the few tv comedies that is actually successful when it goes for emotional moments.

Too erratic to be an upper echelon show, but the high moments of this series make it worth watching the entire thing. There are some truly sweet moments scattered throughout.

As I don't remember if and how much I enjoyed it back in the day, I mainly rate the 2023 season and... It's best described as "hit and miss". Bender and Zoidberg's parts are still the best and the rest of the characters feel like a filler while we wait for those two.

Everyone will call the Simpsons Matt Groenings crowning jewel and his biggest reason for fame. All that may be true but this series is where Matt Groening left his mark on all time comedy writing. It is wittier, has more compelling characters and a better premise than all the other animated shows combined. I loved this show growing up and I still do. It will always have a special place on the list of all time great animated comedy tv shows.

Good news everyone! If The Simpsons didn't already cement Matt Groening in metaphorical television hall of fame, Futurama seals the case forever. Futurama is chopped to the brim with interesting characters: main, one-note, and everything in-between. My one complaint is that even at the best of times, the show is hit-and-miss and moreso with the many cancellations and reboots.

Had to tone the score down after the last season.. Precancellation the show was utterly adamant, but already the "movies" were a bit lamer. Unfortunately, the whole season 8 is utter crap

Futurama is perfect Sci-Fi comedy. It works as satire and as a barrage of interesting and unique ideas. All in all it works as well as it does due to the cast of diverse and charming characters.

I think a lot of reviewers have basically said the same thing: Individual episodes ranged in quality from mediocre to some of the best science-fiction ever put on television. Low-key a better, smarter show than Groening's other, more famous, creation.

Follows a very noticeable formula - but it knows how to tell a joke without compromising the heart of the show.

The first four seasons were brilliant, beautiful, and hilarious. The movies, which I'm far too unmotivated to rate individually, ranged from good to meh. The post-revival seasons were, actually, pretty dang good. The show never returned to its former glory, far too many jokes feeling more punny and ergo kind of "below" the standard I felt Futurama had initially set, but it still had enjoyable and creative stories.

It's impossible to know how to rate this considering I grew up with it and couldn't possibly be objective about it, but man, this show contains some of the best stuff ever, though anyone would admit there's some not-so-great stuff too, especially towards the end of the run. A worthy successor to The Simpsons that may be weaker in some ways but is also many orders of magnitude more imaginative, combining big ideas with incredible jokes and emotionally involving character stuff.

Everything before the years-long hiatus qualifies as one of the best TV shows ever. Zoidberg and Bender are two of the best sitcom characters ever. Hilarious dialogue and jokes wrapped around often brain-pleasing Asimovian sci-fi storytelling. The four inter-series movies were all pretty mediocre to be honest. Everything after was hit-and-miss, though if you picked the best 15 or 16 episodes out and stacked them all together you could cobble together a single original-run-quality season.

Very funny and brilliantly imaginative stuff, with characters like Bender, Zoidberg, Farnsworth, Hermes, and plenty others who were some of the most memorable and funniest on TV. It also had much better animation than most of its contemporaries (its combination of 2D and CG often looked excellent). Wasn't quite as good when it got renewed and it had the lacklustre movies, but it was still better than most other cartoons on TV at the time.
