Have you ever fired your gun into the air while yelling "AAAGHHH!"? I haven't, but watching this movie did generate that level of frustration.

Have you ever watched a movie and wanted to scream, "NOBODY CARES" so loudly that the characters will turn to you, realize they agree with you, and walk off the screen while the credits roll? This film will make you spend two hours fantasizing about doing that.

Such a dumb remake -- one that really didn't understand anything with the original --, filled with so many generic action scenes that any X-Games coverage looks way better.

An incompetent movie from start to finish, Point Break will go down in history as one of the worst and most unnecessary remakes ever. It fails at even delivering its most basic promise: fun extreme athlete action scenes. And once you get past those, you get a terrible protagonist played by an actor with less charisma than Keanu Reeves, philosophical ravings that are less profound than those coming from your local stoner, and a plot that can't even properly copy-paste itself from the original.

I can't hate on it too harshly, despite it being inferior to the original in almost every way. The idea of the Ozaki 8 isn't a bad one, it adds a level of depth to the crimes. And no one can deny the action scenes are great fun to watch. But yeah, very little heart drives the film, which seems to forget its own purpose multiple times. Needless, dry, and underwhelming for sure, but not the worst remake ever.

The only way to get that Kurt Wimmer feeling is by going directly to Kurt Wimmer. For this movie, they went straight to Kurt Wimmer, and that's why this movie gives you that Kurt Wimmer feeling in spades. And as Kurt Wimmer would surely say: all we can do is be responsible for our own path...and let Kurt Wimmer be responsible for his.

Excellent scene stagings almost justify this otherwise pointless, shot-for-shot remake, with even less of a personality than the original.

An exceptionally long extreme sports showreel with some plot stuff about spirituality or something thrown in as an afterthought.

Every bit of action was breath taking and upped the ante as the film progressed. It lacked in the areas of acting mostly, allowing the lead character to become a hollow waste again. There is no difference on the acting front between this and the original. It sure serves up a nice dose of extreme sports and tries to sprinkle in a dash of spiritualism to keep the pace moving. Not a masterpeice by any sense of the word but it is far from the biggest fail of all time. I drop it in the middle.

Now that is what I call brain dead nonsense. I'll start with the redeeming aspects of the film: the majority of the extreme sports scenes were shot with real live practical stunts and little CGI - even the wingsuit scene! - 15 points instantly. And albeit being just another pointless underdeveloped character in a film full with pointless underdeveloped characters, Teresa Palmer is at least cute and sexy in the 2 minutes of screen time that she has - 5 more points. Everything else is rubbish.

None of the leads have anywhere the charisma as any of the originals and although the stunt work is way better on the extreme side, it becomes so silly it becomes some kind of parody of itself. I never thought I would miss Reeves, Swayze and Busey so much.

The stunts in this movie were amazing. That is about the only praise I can give this movie. And even those aren't handled that well. The acting, music, story and directing are all extremely bad.

Dreadful. It should not be allowed to carry the same name as the '91 movie. The acting is appaling, one of the worst casting I have seen in a while. There are a few 'hints' to the original, but if you are not going to make the same movie at all, why not change the name? At least it would have little to do with the first one, which would be fine by me. Since I barely made it to the end: 18/100.

I liked some of the action scenes ill admit. But even lowrent straight to video 90s action flicks have more story and character than this. I try to take remakes as their own film, but knowing the original made it hilarious to see how the plot got pissed all over and how the characters got gutted into oblivion. Its entirely emotionless. You could probably recreate this movie with a string of youtube videos...complete with dudes bullshitting about the zen of freeclimbing

They've entirely missed the point of the original and every moment feels unearned. Script is only one notch above The Room and the acting makes Keanu's performance visionary in retrospect.

As generic as the 2015 James Bond movie, but without the advantage of having the longevity of a franchise to ride on. The remake of Point Break (1991) is well shot with spectacular action, but with empty characters, poor dialogue and not a single sign of personality anywhere, while the bland music never catches the right mood for the adventure. Just focus on the nature and you'll get through....

Point Break? More like Pointless give me a Break. I knew it would be terrible but I thought the action scenes would be worth watching so I waited for it to leave cinemas so I could just skip the bits in between, but it's just so cack-handed in all aspects that even watching wingsuit flying is boring as hell

Apparently I don't agree with most people on this one. I was deffinately entertained. Sure the story has its flaws but that doesn't make me like it any less. Meant for the big screen - probably wouldn't have worked at home as much. *Recommendable!

A very cool movie and good unknown actors. Wau the scenery, images and sequences of extreme sports were too impressive. Still impressed. What a pity that I didn't watch it in 3d. I recommend it to be watched in cinema, because else it wouldn't have been so good and impressive. The story has it's flaws, but that's not the point of the movie, so I don't mind. Don't watch it at home!!!

WOW. Ericson Core; I'll remember the name. I am trying to write a review, but the movie is so poor that it looks like I'm having a stroke, or don't understand English when trying to describe it. For example; 'they find the bad guy at the end, who they can't find but keep finding throughout the movie, by simply being where he is'... idk how to describe whatever happens when they push two scenes together in this movie, but it isn't editing, and it isn't intelligible.

Yeah, the acting and story weren't anything special, but to put this well below Alvin and The Chipmunks is absurd. The action/stunts were fantastic (with ordeal #8 being beyond credible, though to be fair [I guess], it was supposed to be) and real. According to the promos, no green screens, cranes or cables were used, and for the most part I think that's true, except some FX had to be used for the initial fatal fall. But the real star of the show was the extreme sport/location cinematograph
