Marvel's inexplicable insistence on having 13 episodes per season means this suffers from the same bloat and pacing issues as other Netflix MCU shows, but the revenge storyline here is strong enough to (almost) make up for it, with at least one good bone-crunching, blood-splattering action scene per ep. They know why we're here, so enjoy.

A decent addition to the Marv-have I mentioned how much I hate Iron Fist. They played Tom Waits while the Punisher sledgehamm-seriously, Iron Fist is so bad it almost makes none of these shows worth it. Most episodes were fine even though a rogue subplot stole a couple epis-maybe Finn Jones will fall off a cliff or get in a car crash and we won't have to worry about seeing Iron Fist in anymore of the Netflix Marvel stuff. Iron Fist sucks.

An unhinged man takes a war home with him - his last vestige of home murdered - then brings war to those trying to sell violence in a corporate package solution. It is about revenge, but also about how to keep or tear up friendship/family.

They made the Punisher much less unhinged and psychopathic for his standalone series than he was in Dare Devil, they do this to make him a more relatable and sympathic protagonist but the character loses a lot of what makes him interesting when he becomes so clearly 'the good guy'. There is also a distinct lack of vigilantism. Making all of the action personal strips away the vigilante aspect entirely which is a shame. He could have a least beat up a mugger or something.

Guess it's a good thing Eric Clapton didn't put down the blues guitar after his kid died...

Jon Bernthal deserves so much more recognition as an actor. Incredible screen presence.

Struggles somewhat when the focus drifts away from John Bernthal killing people. There's some cringy flag waving and an odd debate about guns, which could have worked I guess were it not so overtly shoehorned in. That said it's largely a return to some kind of form for the Netlix MCU, even if Iron Fist's shitness still seems to taint everything. Bernthal is great and several of the support cast are pretty good also. It nails the whole dark and moody thing on the head.

I want to cry...! I start watching this, then slowly I notice that I find my iPhone more interesting than this series.... Really?! A whole episode The Punisher keeps this guy sitting in chair and what they do... They talk!!! Backstory after a backstory. There's more action in Bold and the Fucking Beautiful! They could easily cut 15-20 minutes away from every episode. I just couldn't continue after three episodes. Marvel probably spent all their money for Daredevil 'cause that series kicked ass!

It's no masterpiece but its energetic violence driven by simple revenge is pretty heartwarming. If your heart is in your fist, POW!

Punisher felt more interesting as a Daredevil side character than as the protagonist of his own show. There's just not enough substance to him, and the villains they have him facing aren't very interesting. What you're left with is some violence and weird morality code that I'm not american enough to enjoy.

Of all the Marvel TV shows, this is maybe the best. Jon Bernthal makes a great Punisher. They really let him cut loose. It falls in quality in the second season, and while I prefer this to Daredevil, I actually prefer the Daredevil Punisher episodes more than the Punisher series.

Somebody should tell the cops using this logo that the punisher would hate them.

Overly patriotic Bullshit for bootlicking fanboys and 14-year old. Terrible Acting in parts. Incredibly slow and dragging. Even for a comic no respect for any form of coherence. so yeah. dont watch it. pure waste of time.

Season 1 is an exhilarating boiling pot of powerful action, a gradually unraveling backstory and some captivating characterization, especially the arc of Castle and Micro's relationship. By comparison to that thrilling, gripping ride, Season 2, although still above par, feels anemic. Its two main, unconnected subplots are awkwardly balanced and drawn-out almost to their breaking point in order to reach the 13-episode mark, resulting in scarce main beats, repetition and reduced emotional impact.

Extraordinarily low production value, dc tv shows put this to shame. Lucky, as most of what's going on is just gunshots, not superpowers. Things like crew walking around in the background, fight coordinators hands in the shot to catch actors as they fall during fight sequences (check the pilgrim vs curtis fight, ulghh), and 90's b-movie grade cgi explosions are the norm. MILES better than the other netflix MCU shows.

Jon Bernthal delivers and incredible performance as the Punisher. The storylines aren't the best Marvel has had to offer unfortunately, but the acting here keeps you hooked and the cinematography is also really well done. I also thought Giorgia Whigham did a good job in season 2.

S1: 80 | S2: 65 | The first season does surprisingly well with pacing considering the thirteen episode requirement. I think this is mainly due to strong supporting characters like Lewis, David and Karen. The second season either dumps or downplays them, and really drags the story out, with 8 episodes sounding more than plenty for season 2. Bernthal and Barnes are solid casting choices, and the action is pretty solid, although S2 seems to downplay the violence a lot compared to S1.

Pretty straightforward. Entertaining enough to finish. Unmemorable.

Great first season, but second one was really not worth watching. I loved that there is no stupid super hero costume, no super powers. There are plenty intelligent plot twists. Great main actor. On cons side, like all marvel TV series, characterss recover from their masssive injuries way too quickly :/ Taking into account S2 would drag rating low, but this series deserved to be higher on my list, just for great S1, hence I'm not taking S2 into account.

Punisher bias dictates I'd love this regardless, Bernthal is brilliant. But if I'm being more "objective", it has problems. Like other Netflix shows, seems reluctant to make the character wear the costume. But my main issues are that it changes FUNDAMENTAL aspects of Pun's character. Interpretation is alright but 1: he always has a war to fight (end of season 1) and 2: his family's death not being a random act of gang violence actually changes his core. Still wildly entertaining.

The words "Netflix's Marvel's..." and "dull" have started to become synonymous. Following his introduction in Daredevil, The Punisher continues to wreak havoc with his affinity for firearms. The 1st season is alright. The 2nd season is actually boring, with characters that are borderline intolerable.

s1: 80 // s2: 80 Obviously needs to trim the fat at a bloated 13 episodes but these series is pretty uncomplicated, bloody fun.

A remarkable amount of nuance packed into a wellworn narrative.

A darker and violent look at the current state of America with betrayal, guns, secrets and murder. Frank Castle is the epitome of PTSD shown on screen and Jon Bernthal perfectly balances a man torn by his past and a man hell bent on destroying the ones responsible. The show really picks up after episode 7 with the action. Bernthal raised the bar and his fellow cast mates matched him on a level of pure intenisty very few shows carry through out. Bring on season two. Frank Castle is here to stay.

The Punisher might not exceed at every single level, but it sure is entertaining. The small issues of being predictable and a plot that can get a little convoluted are very minor picks at the show. Bernthal is nearly perfect, especially in the later episodes, and defines this character. Where this hits it's mark is it's tone, The Punisher excels at being dark and grim and it's so entertaining to a point where you let the little issues go, and in the end feels like a great revenge flick.

W4E1P0S1V1M1A1R2. Half way through and so far this is the best of the Netflix MCU series. Well made, and though having a predictable and recycled plot (they literally couldn't come up with a new plot and thus just expanded and recycled the original one from DD Season 2), it keeps things interesting.

There are a few episodes that stand out, first ep is my absolute favorite. I also liked the one with "Hanging on a Wire." The rest is pretty meh but still much better than shit like Iron Fist.

Oggettivamente non è una brutta serie, è realizzata con cura e c'è anche qualche svolta intressante; ma soggettivamente troppa violenza e troppo poco "supereroistico", senz'altro la serie marvel che mi è piaciuta meno.

Was quite a fan of the comics and had quite big hopes for the series. Unfortunately this is not transformed well to the screen. I don't mind a bit of difference from the comics to make it work on the screen but the whole buhu flashbacks gets a bit much and the addition of the Madani is just awful. Season 1: 40 Season 2: 40

Definitely entertaining as these series go but not special in any way. Still worth a look though.
