Disney animation went through a rough patch in the 2000s, and the big question seems to be whether this movie or Home on the Range is worse. It's a close call.

One of the weakest entries in the Disney Animated Canon, if not the weakest of all. [Edit: I have succeeded in pretending that 'Home on the Range', unseen by me, does not exist.]

There's one joke just in the beginning of this film that is so extremely funny that I still laugh when I think about it. Apart from that it's just rubbish.

(2014-15 Disneython #40:) Most Disney movies, especially the best ones, feel like family films - that is, enjoyable for the kids and the teens and the grownups and the grandparents alike. This is not that. This feels like a very, very young film for babies, start to finish. I felt as ridiculous watching it as I would watching Barney the Dinosaur. Simply embarrassing for Disney that this, their first stab at 3D animation, came out a year after The Incredibles.

The best thing I can say about Chicken Little is that it's pretty much par for the course, as far as annoying CGI animated children's movies about dumbshit fuckoff retard animals go.

Mistakes - 1) The glow stick that Fish is playing with in the karaoke scene and the following scene in Chicken Little's room changes from being in his hand to around his neck to back in his hand again. 2) When the pennant game is being played, Chicken Little's team is down by two runs with a score of 14-13, but if you add the score up off of the board before Little's two run hit, it equals 15.

"Truly there's no sense of calm to the film, which feels as if it's been assembled with the manic energy of a preschooler trying to fit square-shaped plastic toys into circle-shaped holes." - Ed Gonzalez

That means Foxy Loxy doesn't have a prayer of a chance at remaining the big baddie in the face of irritable extraterrestrial robots. But it does mean Chicken Little is much more appropriate for the middle school set than it is for grade schoolers. There's enough madness and mayhem here--not to mention that whole sky-really-is-falling thing--to make me want to warn parents and teachers not to jump right in with all of the kiddies. There was very little I liked in this movie, it's about as fun as when the sky is falling. I honestly can't believe this is a Disney movie. It has a very unoriginal plot, it's chock full of pop culture references of the time, such as a full Spice Girls song is sung. I did like the Barenaked Ladies opening song and a lot of the soundtrack (minus the Spice Girls)...

I refuse to believe a person is capable of having a strong opinion about this movie. It's a below average husk of a film that has nothing that makes it stand out from the hundreds of animated movies you could watch instead.

This is what a terrible animated film looks like. The story makes no sense and aliens come because its exciting or something. One of few recent Disney films that have been outright bad in my opinion.

Zach Braff is funny right? This movie was supposed to be funny right? Was it though? Ultimately it is a story of trust between a boy and his father and how believing someone could better prepare you for an alien invasion. That message really speaks to me as just last week I was telling my own dad had he listened to me more the sky would not have fallen on our small town and started destroying my friends and the town itself. Then we laughed and cried and agreed to never speak of it again.

A real low point for Disney, particularly when you remember this is a Feature Animation. The animation and design is consistently awful, and on occasions a genuine eyesore. The characters and storytelling are as uninspired and one-dimensional as anything Disney have ever produced. Horrid.

Last (of this bunch) and definitively least! Very poor CGI animation, an irritating lead plus unoriginal side-characters (only the fish is just passable) and an uninspired plot (really, an alien invasion that's the best you can come up with to deliver this moral about trusting and listening to your kids?!) make this one the poorest Disney ever.

Almost skates by on the collective good-will of a fine voice cast, but there's nothing here that hasn't been done better (and more cleverly) in other animated films – might have worked better capitalising on the sweet chemistry between Braff and Marshall and their search for fraternal bonding than trying to spice up the narrative with an alien invasion (!) – and the post-Shrek pop culture references which make the film seem very dated 15 years on. Not terrible.

One of the prime examples of how bad Disney got during the dark period between the 90s and its more modern classics. A movie that is both overly sentimental and unnecessarily crass. It's not completely terrible as some non-Disney animated films can get, but the animation was also ugly and bothered me.

Unlike Pixar, Disney is too scared to take a chance by making a film wholly different from the pack. Ironically, as their first completely in-house production, Chicken Little seems as appropriate a choice as it gets.

More annoying than Shark Tale, Chicken Little, with all its popcultural referencees, made for TV storylines, and unbreable and idiotic story, is a slap in the face of the legacy of Walt Disney.

Disney finally takes a cue from Pixar. There are gags galore here and the characters are unique. It doesn't come together as fully as most Pixar creations, though. However it is still enjoyable and it's nice to have the inimitable Don Knotts for one of his last performances.
