"Hey Mr. Miyagi, I invested the money you set aside for my education into the shittiest real estate I could find instead, based on a thing you said once, forcing you to now run your own business that has no real chance of thriving but will make you spend your twilight years toiling for little to no reward. Also I act like I'm on coke all the time. Now thank me for this generosity!" ...And for some reason, he actually does. Oh Miyagi, you spineless wimp.

How the hell do you get fat on cocaine ... Daniel-san is flushed and sweaty every frame of this glorious 80s trash. Terry Silver is some Rocky villain fever dream

The plot makes no sense whatsoever. Who cares if Daniel fights in the tournament? Does it only count if you beat the previous champion? What kind of tournament is that? Why does the bad guy teach Daniel anything at all? Why does the villain bother using illegal moves and losing points when he is clearly better than Daniel in every way?

Can Daniel do anything right? I mean, come on, the kid is always looking for trouble. Once? maybe. Twice? Doubtful. But by the third movie, Miyagi must have realized that Daniel was the one starting all the shit. I'd rather see what Daniel Lawrence is up to. He's probably on the Deans List at USC or something. Daniel? More like Megan's list, since Robyn Lively was 17, and Daniel was 28. Scumbag.

If Highlights for Kids magazine made a karate movie, this is pretty much what it would be. Neutered of all karate, all romantic subplots, and you're just left with Ralph Macchio babbling incoherently about Japanese trees for almost 2 hours.

It's up to Daniel to stop the villain from franchising karate in this, the third movie of the Karate Kid franchise.

Daniel talks too much. Way too much. And is really really stupid. Better than part II, which is not saying much. Terrible movie.

By this point the novelty and charm have worn off, and what we're left with is a completely superfluous retread of the original story that moves at a snail's pace.

Real dumb and bad movie that I probably would've still found a way to fully enjoy had I watched it as a kid. Gets +30 for being fun to watch with my mom as an adult, as there's so much silliness to complain about here. Whoever had the bright idea of making the sympathetic babyface protagonist sit atop the throne like Shao Khan twirling his thumbs while all his potential challengers compete in a grueling 1-day UFC tournament is a shmuck.

Characters rant, rave and perform totally unmotivated actions with careless regard to any semblance of rationale. Macchio gets his chubby ass handed to him in every frame. I do tip my eye patch to Thomas Ian Griffith, who relishes in some world class super villainy for his part. [Rifftrax picked a bit of a dud with this one and I'm left wondering their own motivations. Without any real zingers why choose this one? Why now? Why not the remake?]

The strongest, most powerful nostalgia goggles in the universe would not make this work. A pointless cash in that didn't have a prayer in the crowded summer of 1989, Avildsen and co returned to the well and drew dirt. The best thing about it is that it set the stage for Cobra Kai.

Part III is such a letdown after the surprising Part II. It's mostly a retread of the first movie. There is a cartoonish antagonist who is a toxic waste dumper. For most of the movie it goes through the motions with little thought or care. The only element that has any impact is the thread about the bonsai tree.

This outing has a lot more karate than the second installment in the series. The script is predictable but due to the chemistry of the lead actors it works. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Is this objectively the worst entry of the Karate Kid trilogy? For sure. But somehow the enthusiastically mustache-twirling Terry Silver made it surprisingly fun to watch.

Griffith and Kove are too cartoonishly evil and wacky to really take seriously in this film, but their characters are really the only bad thing about this movie. Admittedly, it is a pointless sequel, although it is somewhat interesting and enjoyable to watch. I liked that the expected stereotypical romance part was partly scrapped in this film, and was made instead into a short-term friendship between Daniel and the cute girl who helps him and Miyagi out. The movie does lack a real conclusion.

Now I know why I never bothered watching the sequels much as a kid – they’re both a bit rubbish. Macchio & Morita’s chemistry keeps things going, but this has a very similar plot to the first two and mostly just goes through the motions until it's done. Griffith is pretty decent as Terry Silver and it’s almost watchable if you go in with low expectations, but the lazy final fight straight to credits consigns this firmly to the two-star bin.

Similiar to the Mighty Ducks trilogy the stakes have been lowered considerably for the third movie. That's good because Daniel-san has gotten considerably softer since he stepped off the plane. He's only fighting one fight? He gets his as kicked in the final fight? Lame. The chemistry between Miyagi and Daniel is still good though which is important because the "viilians" of the piece are terrible.

Like parts of it are so bad it's funny? Griffith and Kove are at least entertaining? There is a world where this movie becomes "the other side of Daniel LaRusso" (because he is actually a jerk in the original) but Part III never seems to realize this fact and instead plays everything as straight as possible in what is another pathetic attempt to recapture the original, which is kind of a pathetic attempt to recapture Rocky. Yep, that's where we are at.

The most interesting experience with this film is that I remembered it...while I didn't remember the 2nd film...yet the 2nd film was better. Most peculiar. This one has a few issues - primarily that it's unoriginal and mostly rehashes the first movie and Mr. Miagi's idealogies conflict with his own idealogies from the first two movies. Oh yea...and Daniel Looks a bit old to be considered a "kid". Other than that, the movie is fairly decent. Biased Score: 72% | Unbiased Score: 70%

If analyzed in a honest and realistic, the third part of the series is really the lowest of all. But at the time, I liked a lot to watch.
