There are certain moments in cinematic history that will be remembered forever whether it be the tears on Falconetti's face in Passion of Joan of Arc, John Wayne at the end of The Searchers or Rosebud in Citizen Kane but they all pale in comparison to the party being broken up in Can't Hardly Wait set to blink-182's Dammit.

I like that Criticker says that this film stars Jason Segel, when I am pretty sure he's only in it for one scene where he licks a piece of watermelon.

I enjoy this film despite the fact that I know it's objectively terrible. I really can't think of too many people who have looked hotter than JLH in a film before. It's also kind of sweet in an awkward sort of way.

Can't Hardly Wait doesn't become unwatchable. It's not funny, it has no real drama, the characters are all one-dimensional, the narrative does them a disservice, and it's a cluttered mess, but it's not terrible. Granted, I can't think of one positive thing to say apart from that, but the sum of its parts is something that you will likely be able to tolerate, if nothing else. That's not a recommendation, mind you, as you're much better off watching something else.

Preston's been stalking Amanda for 4 years. Meanwhile, Amanda was recently dumped by the biggest asshole in school, whom she dated for those 4 years without realizing what an asshole he was. What's the message here? That a stalker deserves a shallow chick? Awesome!

A great teen comedy. All of the characters do their part without drowning each other out to come up with an end result that is easily memorable.

Another forgettable high school film made in the late 90's. This one stands out for having Jennifer Love Hewitt in it. It's not bad, but it's no where near original, and you'll likely be disinterested in watching it unless you happen to catch yourself in a very nostalgic mood and want to reminiscence about high school... and you happened to graduate between '95 and '01.

Can't Hardly Wait seems like an attempt to make an Animal House type movie for high school kids. This movie introduces a lot of Hollywood talent that has been with us since the debut of this movie in 1998. I probably like this movie more than some, just because I am the target audience for this movie. Can't Hardly Wait has a pretty tired plot of a nobody guy who wants to get with the hottest girl in school; the 90's twist is that she has a brain herself. Fantastic soundtrack!

Blatantly contrived comedy lacks the bite of an 80s vintage entry, and would score higher if Love Hewitt and Embry weren't playing two of the most bland characters to ever grace the genre. Saved by the veritable smorgasbord of other 90s personalities in various stages of career rises and falls, making this an unexpectedly fun and ingratiating nostalgic experience. Still never quite rises above its problems with clutter and disorganisation (though Ambrose and Green make it out unscathed).

I don't know. I know there's no reason for me to like this movie so much. It just captures the feelings of high school so well and in such a relatable way that I can't help it. Maybe I'll look back on it as way more silly when I'm older, but for now, I enjoy it.

Classic high-school movie. I loved the Breakfast Club, but this movie is a close second. You get the classic juxtaposition of the jock, nerd, nice guy, super babe, etc. It's funny and has a lot of different actors who became famous (Seth Green, etc.). Its tacky, yet nostalgic, but overall a fun watch.

The fact that there's nothing new here does little to detract from the precious delivery & cute cast. The "lead" romance is annoying and stupid, but shares the screen with much more charming characters & stories. The pacing is usually brisk, and continues to pick up until the last scene.

I'd say it's somewhat of a poor man's Breakfast Club. But if you like the BC, then that's somewhat of a high standard. The characters are lovable, and it feels like something in the John Hughes vein (if that's your bag).

This ones a slow burner. The first half sucks and is full of stereotypes. But that starts to strip away, and this turns in to a good teen comedy. So stick with it. It's rediculous how many of the people on this have gone on to be in TV comedy at the moment....

This movie is awesome. Seriously. Especially if you graduated from high school around the time of its release ('98/'99). The scene with Tripp McNealy (Jerry O'Connell) makes the movie. Also the scene where that guy yells out, "FAG!" Jenna Elfman is the only negative.

A 1998 time capsule, in the worst sense imaginable, that could not be any more dated if it tried. More an endless parade of cliches and uninspired grabs for nostalgia -- truly, there is no short cut that these guys are ashamed to use here -- than a movie, it's adherence to formula and disinterest in coloring anywhere but firmly inside the lines is something to behold. There was no need for "Not Another Teen Movie", this one does the job of skewering the genre just as well, and unintentionally.

A quintessential 90s movie that centers around the antics at an after high school graduation party. A fantastic cast and breezy plot elevate this basic idea to repeat viewing status while the rough last act stop it from becoming a classic. JLH's storyline is actually one of he least interesting on retrospect, which says a lot about the overall ambiance and story telling of the movie.
