Semi-fun, semi-cute movie that looks fantastic but doesn't have the emotional impact it's going for. The forgettable songs don't help, either. Still, it's an OK Halloween movie for kids if they've already watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and Monster Squad.

A big time "Meh" of a movie. Sure it's pretty but there's just nothing to it. In fact, the animation looks so good it's almost detrimental -- this movie doesn't feel like it was hand-made in the slightest, which to me is a big part of the charm of stop-motion. I want to see thumb prints, etc. It's passable, but an empty experience. Either Danny Elfman has just forgotten how to write songs or I'm misremembering Nightmare Before Christmas and he never really knew to begin with.

Compared to Burton's other stop motion movie, A Nightmare Before Christmas, this just sucks. It looks fine, but the music isn't great, the songs are annoying and not memorable at all, and the story is weak. There are a few good scenes, and the ending is decent, but overall its not very good.

Visually majestic, it's almost as if they made it just for another line of t-shirts at the Hot Topic. Because they sure didn't make it for the story or characters.

I guess Burton just wanted to repeat his success of a Nightmare Before Christmas, but this fell fairly short of the mark. It's still fun, just not that great.

She shitting turns into butterflies in the end, Jesus, that digs my grave. Why, why did she have to turn into butterflies? Why does the bad guy always die by accident, why don't they just fucking kill him themselves? He deserves it right? Damn these nice skeletal senses. Actually there are some to die for death dancing sequences that would make your cum turn green.

Good animation, but altogether it's a short and unsatisfying experiance. The story is never engaging and the songs are fairly boring. Some interesting characters and the bizarre world that Burton creates are the best aspects of the Corpse Bride.

Corpse Bride is just pretty much completely forgetabble. It isn't good, but it's really hard to hate it just because it's so unremarkable. It starts out well, but the plot just plods along and eventually ends. The songs are just kind of there. Ultimately, this movie is nothing more than blatant pandering to the Hot Topic crowd and it's a shame because Nightmare Before Christmas was such a good movie. Not Burton or Elfman's best work.

I know this is pretty much a by-the-numbers Burton effort (macabre story plus Danny Elfman music plus Depp plus Bonham Carter) but I still really enjoyed this. The piano duet scene is very charming.

Corpse Bride never overstays its welcome. Tim Burton's stop motion romantic Gothic fairy tale is a terrific visual piece. The voice work is predictably amazing from Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The fluid animation, catchy songs and short run time all add to the films appeal.

Gorgeous animation...I especially enjoyed the world of the dead being in color while the world of the living was in muted tones of grey. It was a beautiful film to look at...but 6 months out, I can't really tell you what the plot was. I will admit, that I'm one to enjoy a film if it's pretty and this one was definitely that.

Corpse Bride fails both in terms of narrative and characters. It doesn't give us a story that's interesting (despite a potentially fun premise), and its characters are weak and lifeless. It doesn't end well either, with the finale feeling rushed despite the rest of the film seeming overlong. A hollow mess from start to finish, but it does look pretty enough to be worth watching -- it just would have worked better as a 5-10 minute short rather than a full motion picture.

Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Danny Elfman join together once more to create a vision. The vision of Burton's, combined with the sultry voice of Depp and the musical talent of Elfman, is an interesting tale of love before and after death. While some parts seem to bring back memories of The Nightmare Before Xmas, the storyline lacks a certain soulfulness that Nightmare had. Still, through and through it was not a bad film.

Burton's fanatics will once again have reason to rejoice, as he has crafted another animated fantasy that definitely delivers in quality, although some of his more critical fans may feel that he is stepping back rather than growing as a filmmaker with this entry. Burton is digging up ideas buried long ago, but like the dead characters portrayed in the film, Corpse Bride shows there is still a lot of life left in them.

With stellar stop-motion, great voice work and an excellent soundtrack by Danny Elfman, "Corpse Bride", arguably Tim Burton's masterpiece, is a very atmospherical tale, sad and amusing at the same time. Macabre humour is alternated with genuine emotion and eeriness with silliness in this brisk, inventive, haunting movie. P.S.: it has dancing skeletons in it!

A decent, though not outstanding, animation, which feels slightly crippled by restraints on its runtime, character development and scope. The character design is quirky but the characters aren't given the freedom to live up to their image. And the monotonous blue-grey overworld feels at odds with the diverse beings who inhabit it. Perhaps creativity could have blossomed more fully with a 90 runtime and a bigger set design budget. Good effort, but a level below Aardman or Coraline for example.

If we're speaking based on aesthetic alone, this is Burton's best. His transitions are flawless. He creates a splendid contrast between life and death. Such a great way to start off an amazing animation studio. One thing I can never get with is his archetypal characters, which is just his thing, but they work better here than most of his other movies.

Deeply Gothic with a real flavour of Tim Burton's dark side running through it. Some exquisit animation although the vocal characterisations are somehow weaker than usual. Some deeply unpleasant content is more acceptable because of the animation style but not the strongest of stories. A short story packed into a film.
