When the first xXx movie came out it was 2002, I was sixteen, and extreme sports were pretty cool to the youth of the day. Fifteen years later Xander Cage is an anachronism, one that hasn't aged well, who thinks a fifty year old action star skateboarding is cool? But there's a degree of seeming sincerity and thus charm coming from Diesel in his cheesy one liners, and sly smiles, something tells me that he truly knows how lucky he is to be on the silver screen twenty years past his prime.

Return of Xander Cage is yet another washed up franchise that Vin Diesel has decided to return to following the enormous success of the resurrected F&F franchise. But not only is this comeback just completely ridiculous but it's crying out to follow the F&F formulae and surely nobody wants or needs more of these films. Donnie Yen is a fun addition and he steals every scene. And the set pieces entertain I suppose. But the whole concept of this franchise is just dumb and exhaustingly forgettable.

An action film featuring Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa sounds like the greatest thing ever: All you have to do is point the camera at them and say "OK now do something cool". Unfortunately, that never happens. What a terrible waste, and what a bad movie otherwise too . . .

Unsurprisingly, the plot does not hold up to a moment of scrutiny, developing only in order to set up the next stunt or combat encounter. Other things that did not surprise: Donnie Yen being the best part of the film and women-as-props. The cheap compositing effects, however, did surprise.

Diesel vomits out one liners that would have been cheesy in 1985 bc its his vanity project so everything he does is cool and everyone likes him and he bangs 8 chicks at once for "undercover work". The movie jumps from one blandly directed setpiece to the next, and i don't mind setpiece based action movies but the direction here can't even make donnie yen shooting guns doing john woo style slides exciting...which you would think is a nobrainer...

Not as bad as I thought it would be. The overall feel and tone of the movie are actually balanced out pretty well with the action and characters. My problems with it: The humor isn't all that funny, some plot-points don't make any sense, and the movie gets pretty uneven. Those points took their toll on me. I'm sure fans of the first will really enjoy it. Overall it's a pretty entertaining movie. Nina Dobrev is annoying and unfunny but then again, Donnie Yen is in this. Can't complain about him!

The original xXx was a horrifically stupid movie that thought it was cool as hell. This one is fun but KNOWS it's stupid and leans into the skid so much that in the end I had a fucking blast with it. like he literally has an orgy in the first 10 minutes come on

Everything is turned up to 11 over the top ridiculous. You can clearly see that the Fast & Furious formula was added to the franchise with its big cast of good natured bad people who do totally insane stuff to save the world. But it goes even further in dumb jokes and ridiculous moves. But I am the kind of person to thoroughly enjoy such nonsense and therefore I loved this movie very much. Also, Donny Yen and Ruby Rose were fantastic.

Some pretty ridiculous but entertaining action scenes, and lots of dumb acting and really dumb dialogue. They clearly tried very hard to get a diverse supporting cast, which was actually nice. Donnie Yen is still the man. The whole thing could've been a whole lot worse though. The movie doesn't take itself seriously, which is a real plus and helps not make it such a drag to watch. However, I still found it pretty boring.

Vin tries to relaunch another old franchise, but it's hard to see more installments of this series in his future. The original XXX was like James Bond by way of Evel Knievel for the lobotimized musclehead crowd. XXX 3 is closer to M.I and Fast and The Furious in terms of being a silly over the top actioner featuring a non-stop barrage of ridiculous gravity defying stunts and an international cast cynically assembled to maximise global appeal. Only hardcore fans of Diesel and Yen need apply.

Loud and obnoxious, xXx 3 is a feeble imitation of the Mission Impossible franchise at this point. Poor writing and acting is to be expected, but the lack of fun moments is disappointing.

It's a film that unashamedly knows what it is and doesn't care. The plot is pretty stupid and some scenes and dialogue are downright awful, but the action and feel overall is just so much fun. The characters are all likeable and kudos must be given for the diversity in this film; not just the ethnicities of the actors but also not gender stereotyping them either. Not ashamed to say I enjoyed this.

Wants to be Fast and Furious so bad. How Donnie Yen makes it to the group at the end could set up a super cool sequel where Donnie Yen fights Donnie Yen. 5 points for Ice Cube. -5 points for the waterski dirtbike sequence. Vin Diesel should never speak Spanish on camera again.

I almost wish the direction was even more highly stylized than it was, but given the fun I had watching it, I am not complaining too much. Lean into the absurd and add Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa, and Deepika Padukone to your cast was apparently the winning formula for xXx for me.

This is another mindless action film with a ridicules plot. The actors seem to be having fun with their roles. The script is weak but there are a few exciting action scenes. Overall this film is disappointing.

Laughable. Diesel seems to thinks so highly of himself that everything has to revolve around him to show how fantastic he is. As for the rest: the story is bad, the action sequences are horrible and Colette shouldn't have been in this one for sure. 28/100.

The most stupid thing about this is that how badly Caruso manages to direct fight scenes with the cinema's most gifted martial artists in contemporary cinema -- yes, Jaa and Yen. Despite this, Xander Cage has its moments of pure vulgar joy -- Neymar's awkward scenes, Samuel L. Jackson NOT DYING, the between-the-lines sniper head shot, Xander providing a TV signal so a latino village can watch Germany 7x1 Brazil, a blonde Tony Jaa that loves to dance, Ice Cube saving the day.

Bu zamana göre çok ama çok iyi kast oluşturulmuş. Konu olarak zayıf gibi kalsa da bu sayede ortaya iyi sahnelerle dolu tempo ve aksiyon olarak doyurucu iyi bir film çıkmış. Diğer taraftan Nina Dobrev'i değişik bir rolde izlemek keyifliydi.

The first xXx film was a decent bit of fun, but this really doesn't work beyond some of the action. It's not like I expected good writing, but I didn't expect it to be this bad, with horrible dialogue and a plot that makes absolutely no sense. It just isn't enough to motivate the action. So the action scenes are motivated on their own terms and the charisma of who's in it. The hand to hand combat is pretty engaging, Yen comes off best, but the gunfights are quite awful. The ending is horrible.

The original xXx was enjoyable, the sequel was truly awful, and this sits somewhere in between those two in tone and content. Seemed like they tried to re-create a Fast and Furious ensemble cast but it didn't really work for me, a bit like the unfunny one-liners. Oh, and Toni Collette was completely miscast.

Man was this film a waste. It's nothing like the original or even the sequel. It tries to be Fast & Furious meets Mission Impossible meets Point Break meets The Expendables but doesn't pull off anyone of them let alone all of them. Tony Jaa is criminally under utilized, I was hoping Donnie Yen could bring some life to this franchise and elevate it but most of Donnie's action scenes are so poorly handled you can't even see what's going on. xXx: Return of Xander Cage is pretty much exactly what I want out of a B-grade action movie. It's got a lot of action, most of which is technically proficient, and it doesn't take itself too seriously, meaning everyone involved is having fun and joking - and so am I. Script and characters are secondary, and it does have a big problem with its climax, but for its relatively brief stay on our screens, it's a good deal of fun.
