The script is hilariously bad, the editing is baffling, the cinematography is dreadful, the "main" villain is a joke, the characters have no real progression, the "intimate" moments are manipulative at best, the soundtrack includes random well-known songs that don't mesh with what's happening on screen (did we really need a whole flashback montage while playing Memories by Maroon 5?). I'm having a hard time coming up with something I didn't actively dislike within this hideous trilogy-ender.

Yeah they really screwed the pooch on this one. I actually enjoyed the camp and ludicrous action of the first two entries. Hardy was a ton of fun as Brock and Venom, and those leaned in to the camp enough where this one didn’t. The attempts to build any actual emotion and likable characters (and there are plenty of attempts) rung so hollow, and the pacing was sort of all over the place. I didn’t hate it. The acting is mostly fine and the actual symbiote action was thrilling. Meh. Do better Sony.

I thought the first 2 were fun enough but this one relied way too much on weird humor and a had a terrible script. Convoluted motivations and actions regarding the antagonist. Story coincidences that are completely absurd even if you are suspending your disbelief to the extreme. They bring in a tone of other symbiotes and make them all fodder afterthoughts except Lasher (who was fairly cool). I don't care that much since it's just dumb super hero movie but I feel like they blew it

I love Venom. The story is thinly constructed. More details and backstory on Knull would have been nice and the other symbiotes didn't get the fleshing out they deserved, but this is the V & E show and it was a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. I laugh out loud a dozen times minimum during these movies which is a massive compliment. Strong 7.3

Two key things that made this experience was singing along to 'Space Oddity' as if I was one of those hippies and Tom Hardy illustrating the superhero fatigue to perfection.

Venom and the other symbiotes deserved better. Just disrespectful that this movie wasn't anything it should have been.

This is the second Venom movie in a row where I felt the superhero fatigue physically pressing down on me like a weighted blanket for the first 65% of the runtime - to the extent I semi-considered bailing and finishing the movie tomorrow night - before it marginally redeemed itself with a goofy, protracted, cartoonishly enjoyable climactic sequence. Nevertheless, while I had a few chuckles in the last half hour I really can't imagine I'll ever watch this trilogy again in my life.

Yeah okay. Though the magic element of Knull and the sudden shift in morality with the symbiots felt a bit borderline unaligned with the tone of the other movies. Action was alright though! The poor guy, though, Hardy, I don't know if he was willingly acting so stiff to show being hungover, but he looked like he was holding a big shit the whole time. Or like he had a neck brace. It was distracting to wonder if he was alright

I never really cared for these films. There is no plot consistency, and as much as I like Tom Hardy as an actor, he's just not good in this role. Special effects were fine, I guess, but this is basically a B-movie script with a major Hollywood studio budget.

A lot of the problems with Venom: The Last Dance are symptoms of the franchise in general, a franchise that is trying to utilize some of the more interesting characters in the Venom universe without legally being able to include any reference to Spiderman or other Marvel characters. The result is a thin plot, a weird mixture of campy humor and attempts at emotional moments, and some OK action. Tom Hardy is great and all of his buddy comedy scenes with Venom almost make the movie watchable.

It’s so fucking messy. Both the story and the Venom & Eddie connection felt extra forced. With each film, directing becomes more and more problematic. The narrative and story are quite terrible. Nothing good is left out of Venom’s story. It could have progressed way better.

It’s an odd film full of half-plots and part-characters, seemingly edited by a first day intern with a screenplay right out of the ‘Sony let’s fuck this up massively’ playbook. But I do like Venom and Hardy and will give credit to a cast doing their best with absolutely nothing. I had reasonable fun with it for an evenings entertainment, but holy shit these Sony films are a masterclass of corporate clusterfucking.

Technically a better Power Rangers movie than Power Rangers (2017), but still a pretty meh movie overall. Once again, Eddie and Venom are the only TRULY good parts of the film, and it feels like a rushed and cut together mess. Oh well. I'll miss you, Vernum.

I will say, I did not notice the time pass. It's probably because every character has read the script, so everything can happen as soon as possible; even then, it feels like it takes forever to get to the big fight, which is, unfortunately, not nearly as big as it needed to be.

You know you're into bonkers territory and you can't ask for more than that. That said, it's not actually as sleazy as it could be -- despite the nearly non-existent Knull plot, it's actually there to connect some dots, but mostly for future films, which is a shame; that makes the whole thing seem kinda pointless, rushed and undercooked -- and it feels just mildly entertaining at times -- Brock/Venom inner dialogues are still fun, but scarce, and the hippie family looks cute.

Although Marcel has been involved from the onset, this film is her directorial debut...and it shows. The Last Dance feels rushed and incomplete. From scenes not being much more than they were in the trailer (the aeroplane sequence) to scenes being too contrived (everything involving Mrs. Chen) to concepts being underdeveloped and feeling like video game footage (the symbiotes & Knull). Some moments do work (Space Oddity) but the film just doesn't come together well enough, despite a great cast.

Not even "fun" like the last 2 were. Suffered from the same issue as the second one where everything just felt so loud and chaotic at times to the point where it was overwhelming. The last act didn't even feel like a last act, left completely unsatisfied.

The Last Dance feels kind of feels like it’s throwing its hands up and throwing in the towel. Sony’s approach to this character feels baffling in so many aspects and it feels it never corrects course in this franchise. Of course, the Hardy/Venom dynamic is still quite good, but on its own cannot make up for a nonexistent narrative, weak subplots, and generic secondary characters. The only sense of finality to this is the fact that Sony clearly doesn’t have any clue what to do anymore.

There's quite a bit of fun to be had here, even if it's just seeing old 00s superhero movie tropes again. All Hollywood B-movies should feature an exclusively British cast playing stereotypical American characters.

This is an another entertaining installment in the Venom franchise. Tom Hardy really has fun with the lead role. Some of the supporting characters are interesting and there are some fun scenes. If you are a fan of this series you should watch this one.

It hits when Venom sacrifices himself, but I think that's mostly because I'm a softy, so I think I did most of the heavy lifting there. The last movie was an improvement on the first but this was just not good. Hardy is a wonderful actor but he phoned this in. Action was very meh. Plot was ridiculous and kind of a waste of time when you consider that is just going to come anyway. Felt meaningless by the end. Not funny. Some super cringy parts like the dancing. Venom deserves better.

I didn't hate it, but it would be hard to call it good. The plot gives a very contrived reason for Venom not to be out all of the time, but then he comes out for one of the silliest, unfunny moments in the movie (a dance scene), completely ignoring the major threat. The ending was kind of ridiculous, they basically already tried blowing the seemingly indestructible creatures up, why does acid plus an explosion suddenly actually kill them. I did laugh at Venom singing Major Tom, though.

Surely this movie got cut and recut over and over? It feels like half of it is missing. So much exposition for what? Why show us the scientist girl's backstory? Why did she go abruptly from evil to good? Why die for knull dude if he's going to fight regardless? Were the 30 minutes long credits a troll? Were the actors forced to play their roles at gunpoint? So many more questions, trilogy started fun but they forgot to be fun in this movie. Puzzling.

I do think the first two Venom movies are good trashy fun, but The Last Dance is mostly just trashy. Ultimately more self-serious than the previous entries, the general deficit in wacky shenanigans forced my attention to turn to the lackluster filmmaking. On the plus side, Tom Hardy is still dishing out the weirdest major franchise performance in recent memory, and doing so with twitchy, weasely vigor.

Mildly entertaining if you saw it in 3D. The story and dialogue were dreadful, but some mildly entertaining moments throughout. Exactly the finale I expected from this franchise. I also just can't get over how much the villain introduction reminds me of Rise of Skywalker. Why are we ending franchises with these abrupt mastermind villain explainers awkwardly placed in the very first scene???

It has its moments, but it's too uneven and confused to tell a good story, and ends up being the weakest of the three. I did find it amusing that it features four different actors who've played Marvel villains... While not being about the multiverse at all.

Meandering and superfluous, and the performances are a bit phoned in. Most of the comedy bits are flat, but it does try to give a decent send-off to this iteration of the Venom character. At least Tom Hardy can finally rest.

Pretty good when Tom Hardy is arguing with himself, ok when it’s the weird Rhys Ifans hippy family, and excruciating when it’s the goddamn cliched army/scientist stuff with the worst expository dialogue ever (although shoutout to Juno Temple for the valley girl STEM representation)
