Not apropos of the movie, but when I was in grade four, two girls in my class anonymously called my house and left the following message on my parents’ answering machine for me. They said in unison that they loved me, and then they played “I will always love you.” My mom got home first, heard the message, and proceeded to play it at dinner every day for a week and a half. That was my introduction to the female sex, and it remains one of the greatest events of my life.

A 2-hour long bad advert for Whitney's music. A terrible ad, but there is no such thing as bad PR, right? God rest Whitney's soul, but she plays such a bitch here. She gets more tolerable at one point, but nope - quickly turns into a bitch again. A self-indulgent moody pain in the arse who seems to try her best to get herself killed and to fall out of favour with her guardian. Having mentioned him, Kevin Costner's character decides to continuously care about her after everything. Go figure.

İnsan sırf kardeşi daha başarılı diye öldürmeyi düşünür mü, altı tamamen boş kalmış. Kiralık katilin kendisini tutan kişiyi öldürdükten sonra hala Whitney'i öldürmeye çalışmasındaki motivasyon ne? Mektupları yollayan adam neciydi? Costner'la Whitney ne ara aşık oldu neden mesafe koydular? Her şey havada. Tek güzel yanı müzikleri, zaten onlar üstünden yürüyor film.

Not a bad melodramatic romance, I suppose, but I don't give a damn about either of the leads which is pretty important in such films. The plot is pretty dull too, and the heavy handed directing and writing annoy rather than intrigue.

With one of the most iconic soundtracks to date, It's definitely a movie you watch for the music. The plot is kind of all over the place and a little scrambled. Costner is fine I guess, and Whitney is good for her first film role. I haven't seen this movie ton, but I do own the soundtrack and it is VERY good. Give it a watch if you like okay-written romdram.

Embarassingly loved it when I was a teenager, can't escape it. A bit shlocky but sweet and well paced. Whitney Houston was such a gorgeous talented force in the entertainment world. I wish her well.

Kevin Costner has a haircut that looks like it was savaged by rodents. Whitney Houston's gimmick is a top of the charts hit song. This is the sort of film that exemplifies the sentimental serious cheese that was common in the 90's. What is hilarious is that it won a Best foreign film award in Japan. It's a piece of turgid feces that probably made a lot of studio and music executives happy at the time but has no lasting value whatsoever.

I never bought into the love story between Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston which is pretty much the ruination of this movie. Other than that, it was entertaining. From either bad casting or simply a complete lack of chemistry between them, I walked away disgusted that it was so fake and/or the acting so lousy. The music was fairly decent and the production quality was good. I blame the director, his standards were far too low.
