Honestly not sure why so many disliked this. Well, actually I do. I didn't grow up with the originals, so I'm sure I'm being too nice with this one when I say I enjoyed it. While these can be done better, Out of the Shadows spends more time focusing on the turtles than the first installment. Splinter seemed like an actual mentor this time. I liked Farrelly as Casey Jones, but his character isn't needed, and Perry and Fox are both miscast. It had decent action it's better than the first.

From the garbage pile comes every single thing that made the turtles fun mashed together at once in a frenzy of "OKAY HERE HAVE THIS AND THAT AND THAT AND THIS YOU APES" I can't wait for Madea the fly.

Surprised at my low predicted Criticker score; this is actually reasonably satisfying and hit a lot of the beats I've wanted as a childhood Turtles fan. Krang, Casey Jones, Bebop & Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman, Technodrome, cool! Good inner conflicts between the turtles too. Of course it's all very loud and CGI and Michael Bay-ish. But underneath that I found stuff to appreciate.

Whatever freshness the turtle reboot had (and it wasn't much) is lost this time around. Even with the introduction of the classic characters Bebop and Rocksteady--who were great, by the way, there's something missing that just makes this one drag. Tyler Perry certainly didn't help.

Somewhere around the halfway mark in this initially more-of-the-same bland sequel, it feels like everyone just stopped taking it serious and as a result this latter half is in all regards the saving grace here. The silly, silly saving grace.

Y'know what, sometimes just throwing everything at you in a pure nostalgia rush is okay. They should have kept going with this nonsense. In the Turtles cinematic universe, Andrea Bargnani plays a pivotal role of being in the background after one of the Turtles drops his pizza slice.

A solid sequel that falls into all the cliches that surround a blockbuster of this nature. It was almost too much to try and force Krang, Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady all under 2 hours and it lead to each one getting very little screen time of significance. It tried to develop more of the personal aspect for the Turtles which lead to some very melodramtic intetnal conflict among the team. It comes together nicely with a cool action scene and ribbon tied ending. Pretty typical. Still cool.

Nostalgic. Points for not holding back on making the baddies cartoony, and the action scene in the air was pretty cool, but man, the turtles are ugly-looking, and the humor is way, waayyy too broad. Bottom-line: Stay away if you didn't used to love TMNT.

Maybe I'm crazy, but this was decent. Not all the jokes hit, but I did get a couple laughs. Turtles definitely feel like they have more personality. Stephen Amell was excellent as Casey Jones, however Tyler Perry was very mediocre and his two counterparts as antagonists were very annoying and kinda dragged it down. However, the movie's art style is still dark and with the improved light tone, it didn't mix well with me. Very much an improvement, however, there is still lots to improve on.

For the most part, TMNT2 is actually an improvement on the first. While it's certainly not all great (bad jokes and some bad human acting), the turtles are all characterized in good ways, the visuals are impressive, and the plot is honestly just a fun time. It's not a masterpiece by any means but its a good bit of nostalgia if that's what you're looking for.

Certainly better than its predecessor (though that's a low bar to clear), TMNT: OOTS is a loud, colorful, and forgettable diversion that is content to denote progress simply by multiplying the characters and the stakes. The story, while busy and convoluted, isn't necessarily deeper, but at least this time the focus remains squarely on the Turtles and not their human allies or adversaries.

Certainly checks off a long list of things I would have wanted to see in a TMNT movie as a child. A vast improvement over the first film, mostly keeping the Bay-isms to a minimum and offering a surprising amount of heart.

Though I didn't watch the first one, i did like this one. I don't see why so many people didn't like this. It had laughs, action, and some pretty good acting( not counting Megan Fox, like no).

It's better than the first one, but at the rate they are improving I wouldn't expect any of these movies to be truly good until the 4th or 5th installment. Too much wasted fan service, as Casey Jones and Krang are pretty much useless. Krang due to lack of good screen time (and not the right voice) and Jones due to corny dialogue and few actual cool moments. The bits with the turtles are absurd in regards to physics but are at least somewhat fun.

I really question these so called "true" TMNT fans badmouthing this movie. Out of the Shadows does an excellent job of bringing the original animated series to life. Bebob and Rocksteady couldn't have been done better. They even successfully brought Krang to the big screen. The humor is cheesy and the action is breathtaking. Yup, it's definitely the Ninja Turtles. I left the cinema with a smile on my face. Fun entertainment for the whole family. 3.5 STARS

Want to hear something crazy? This was fun. Its predecessor was one of the ugliest movies of its year, but this is (arguably) the most on-the-money comic book adaptation of 2016 to date. It's got a snappy pace, some funny moments, actual characterization, a plot, not-bad action sequences...basically, they got it right. Fans of the Turtles will likely be thrilled, and, honestly, I would not mind if they made a third one.

Very surprised by how entertaining this was. It's 90's pop culture references, homage to the cartoon, past movies, video game (!) and self deprecating references to producer Michael Bay. This is great if you're a fan of the cartoon first and foremost. If you like the original comic you will be disappointed since it doesn't have any of that grit. This is all about camp fun. Kang is done well and the end is pretty much a boss fight. Some wild action scenes push this up for me. 3d imax was solid

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is bizarrely perfect in its own ridiculous, imperfect way that only makes sense for a movie where giant anthropomorphic CGI turtles battle a giant anthropomorphic CGI rhino and warthog.

I enjoy the first, this is a mess. I still have an intrinsic adoration for the mutants so merely seeing them on screen makes me a little happy, but there's too much crammed in here and it's not satisfying enough. The action is still pretty fun but this is a lot more hammy; everybody is corning it up and it becomes too much. I enjoy when the Turtles crack lame jokes but nobody else works... it's just not as funny as the first one. Wasted potential because so many iconic characters are present.

Of the first movie, I claimed that its flaws were overshadowed by the movie being such undeniable fun. I stick to that. This second one... that's just not the case. It's crossed that line of being TOO corny, with nothing to make up for that. And I didnt hear a single child's laughter. Not to mention, it's just the same formula: Leo & Raph have disagreements, Donnie & Mikey have zero agency and go with whoever, and they all "come together" in the end, sort of? I dunno. This wasn't good enough.

Like cheese pizza, it might not necessarily satisfy like a pizza with more toppings might, but if you need something Ninja Turtle-y, it might get the job done. It's not really worth seeing, but if you see it, you probably won't be too upset with the time you invest in it.

Cowabunga! The second installment of the rebooted TMNT franchise again is a quite enjoyable way to pass the time. It introduces a lot a fan favorite characters into: Bebop and Rocksteady are fun. Casey Jones is incredibly underused, he just uselessly hangs around, despite Stephen Amell doing a fine job. Kang was unnecessary as the second main villain, the final big action scene tho against him was the best one in the movie.

Once again a TMNT movie with energy to burn. The action is better than most Marvel productions (except the final portal mess). Bebop and Rocksteady are great fun.

This was a pleasant surprise! Is this the closest we've had to a live action version of the classic animated series? Bebop and Rocksteady are just as dumb as you'd want them to be, and even Krang and the Technodrome make welcome appearances. OotS definitely gets the tone, spirit and to a degree the humour of the tv series right. A notable improvement over the reboot, I had a lot of fun with this sequel even if it's still short of greatness, but in fairness they're getting closer.

This has all the flaws of the first film and not much more. They attempted to make a live action version of the '80s cartoon show which is fine but I was never a fan of the show the '90s ninja turtle movies were more my thing and they were all much better than this.

I can't say it isn't fun to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I still remember the poster my brother had in his bedroom of these four turtles when we were four years old. But it is only because of that sentiment that I rank it 40/100, it really isn't anything special.

An undeniably fun nostalgia trip for about an hour gives way to derivative plotting which bogs down the second half, but it's still an enjoyable call-back, with Fox a likable April O'Neill and Arnett an amusing (if somewhat underused) sleazeball. Bebop and Rocksteady are enjoyable additions, and Krang is beautifully realised. A surprisingly fun romp.

Superior to the first film and alltogether more enjoyable. Bebop and Rocksteady fit into the movie perfectly and Krang as main villain makes to the movie more interesting and cartoony. The turtles stick their usual drama and have the same "working as a team" plot they've had a billion times before.

The only saving grace of this film was the remenisce of the 90's cartoon. Krang was bad ass, Bebop and rocksteady we're no worse than the turtles. Really wanted to see Baxter change, is it enough if a reason to watch a third...

Cowabunga, the vigilante demi-gods on a half shell are back, and more inane and irritating than ever. Their antics make the 112 minutes it takes to watch this frenetic followup to 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a torturous mindfuck for any sentient being over the age of infancy. Produced by Michael Bay the film is the latest chapter in a franchise everyone thought was buried until Bay resurrected it several years ago. Thanks for nothing, dude.

This is the dumb afternoon movie I'd been hoping for when the first one came out. It's still a crap film, but not hatefully so. The action is directed coherently, the plot is straight kids show plot but that's still better than slapdash hollywood blockbuster plot when it comes to just having fun. Fox is in it less, which is a plus as we don't have to endure as many exposition dumps from her mouth.

Things that sucked: the direction, the contrived plot, the dialogue, the immature and basic humour, the cliché themes, the tone, the turtles, Splinter, Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, the villains, the obnoxious soundtrack, some of the visual effects. Things that didn't suck quite as much: some of the visual effects, the attempts to include elements from the cartoon, one or two action sequences, Will Arnett. I'm done. I really have no idea if it's better or worse than the first one.

On par with the 2014 film. They'd already killed off any major interest in the turtles with the Michael Bay inspired characters without personality. They basically turned TMNT into Transformers warriors with roid rage. Acceptable popcorn action film, but it's in one eye and out the other with little or no relevance to what made the turtles so fun in my youth.

The dialogue in this movie is so bad, I zoned out for five minutes during the first scene, and it's the only movie that actually made me wish I were deaf. The script is terrible, the action is too corny, and nothing is captivating, resonating or interesting. That said, this sequel is better than its predecessor. The entire movie feels like it's forgotten it's live-action and still thinks it's a Saturday morning cartoon (airing 2 decades ago). Amell's not bad though, but Perry is atrocious.

The tone of this is all over the place, and it's pretty much never a good place. When Tyler Perry and an animated blob are the highlights of your movie you've got issues. They're the only ones in tune with the fact that everything in the movie is silly nonsense. Why is Linney even in this movie? Even if everyone were on the same page it'd still be a narrative mess with a ton of unfunny attempts at humour, but it'd at least be something consistent.

A pretty boring "action" movie. There isn't much action and there isn't much fun to be had. Megan Fox and Stephen Amell stick up the screen every time they are on it and make the movie drag on. Mikey saves the movie though, as I'm surprised EVERY single one of his jokes hit, from the adult ones to the kids ones. The other turtles are sort of annoying. Tyler Perry was great in it though, which hurts to type

This movie still has the annoying dialog, boring story, and abject lack of character development of its predecessor. But the action scenes go a long way towards making up for it. Seeing Bebop and Rocksteady (the Rosencrantz & Guildenstern of cartoons) on the big screen feels great after all this time. They lighten the movie and make it more fun. I still wish the humor didn't annoy me half to death, but at least the cartoon violence gave me something to look forward to.
