This show would be a solid 90/100. If the focus were a little bit more on the thread around them.A threat which is responsible for the DEMISE OF MANKIND.......It's about a young girl named Ellie who is immune to a virus and is supposed to give up her life to create a vaccine to save everyone else. But what is she saving them from? The infected weren't even a threat in this show. They were only a side note.

Some parts are fantastic, a couple of parts are bad (Kansas City villain & ep 8), Pascal & Ramsey provide a strong baseline of quality overall. Easily blows away previous US-centered zombie TV shows (e.g. TWD, Black Summer, etc), though I'll take the opportunity here to recommend the Korean series Kingdom & Charlie Brooker's Dead Set.

Clearly written by someone who has a sense of what should work (in theory) as far as characterization. This is a “high concept” and so much time is spent trying to make me care about the characters. If I wanted a character study, I’d watch Better Call Saul or Mad Men. This is a post-apocalyptic story about mushroom zombies. I didn’t love House of the Dragon, but at least it knew what it was and why I was watching it.

Pretty much perfect. Great Story Adaptation tight Script and fantastic Acting. This ist not The Walking Dead so If you expect a lot of Infected you probably will be let down. But the Game was always about the Characters and Gameplay Structure works different. The Hunter Scene in the Car and Left Behind was better in the Game besides a few Things its a great Experience. Must Watch !

Starts out strong, with great, nuanced characters and a more mature approach to the otherwise outplayed zombie apocalypse genre. but towards the end it does start to feel a bit more generic, and the finale, which worked quite elegantly in the game, feels rushed here.

HBO's high-budget production is as impressive as ever. As for the rest: it's good, but no more than good. The story lacks coherence, with too many scenes that were probably meant as breaks from the action in the original videogame; the inclusion of two episodes that have little to do with the story; the two main actors are mediocre at best.

Was very hopeful with the first two episodes. Faithful, but original, solid cinematography, the familiar score, and good acting. The world building is really nice. The Third episode, almost completely original convinced me. The show is the real deal. Score will change as the season goes on, but confident I will be entertained. - First season over, was one of the most promising new shows in years. The final episode felt a bit rushed but loved everything else. Part II shit show incoming :)

House of Dragon'dan sonra adından her hafta bahsettirecek dizi ihtiyacımız vardı. Gitmiş gibi duruyor...

Initially, it felt like a standard zombie fare/post-apocalyptic hero's journey with some nice twists (the fungi idea is brilliant). But then the 3rd episode came... and that is one of the most touching stories and maybe one of the best episodes of a TV series I have ever watched. Again episode 8 had this very raw quality of how the reality of the situation unfolds. Ramsay is as good as she was in GOT and Pedro Pascal, is the person you can trust with your weird kids all around the galaxy :)

Easily the best adaptation of a game, I just wish it could keep the energy of the first few episodes. 3rd episode destroyed me, first time I ever actually cried in fromt of the tv. But it started to drag a lot after that, a lot. Still a decent watch but a slow one.

Such a beautifully executed vision. I've mostly been bored by zombie stories I've seen before, so I went into this with some trepidation. But this really just nails the world building and the characters, so it's impossible not to enjoy. And I appreciate that the drama (and even action) is much, much more focused on the inter-personal and societal conflicts rather than just the specific danger of a zombie attack.

S1: 80 | S2: 75 | While I do prefer the game due to it being more tense and immersive, this is a great adaptation and arguably the best live-action adaptation of a video game, which makes up for last years Uncharted film. All around excellent performances, with notable praise for Bella Ramsey for proving the early skeptics wrong. Episode 3 is the standout for me, with lots of added depth, and a much more satisfying conclusion to the story of those two characters.

Temporary review: We'll see where they're goin here. Some cringe but some genuine moments, some good and bad acting, don't have a sense of setting yet like I did one minute into 28 days later or the walking dead. A lot left to explore on how close they are to cannon vs their own world. But we won't know until we see it so: there WILL be some dinosaurs on this dinosaur tour... no? Where the infected at? Show your hand already and show us what type of show this is going to be before recasting elle

the miscast of us. this series is written by a spiteful kid who got told off and now insists even harder, superimposing his retconned world unto the original product itself to prove himself right. the result turns a story about two polar opposites becoming family while braving a world of adversity and certain death...into horribly paced post-post-apocalyptic human drama with too many unengaging characters and close to no threat from what they initially set out to cure. it's part 2 alright. fore!

Bella Ramsey works well in S1 when she’s a kid but her juvenile ways make her out of her depth in S2. Pitted against a superior (ofc) Kaitlyn Dever, she is nothing more than a whiny teenager that needs saving over and over; definitely not the formidable enemy that should drive her character, as successfully portrayed in the game. Entire episodes are wasted on Hallmark sentimentality. We are to feel for characters that barely have screen time. The girl playing Dina convinces, though.

In comparison to its video game predecessor, The Last of Us does a solid job of covering the essentials of the game’s foundation. Its decision to defer from the game itself is applaudable just as it can be annoying. Whereas, the investment of new stories with some characters is fresh, the lack of time for the main protagonists is kind of glaring given the short 9 episodes. The lack of screen time for the biggest threat is also kind of strange. Still, there is a lot to like here for everyone.

Mostly pretty good, although it finds itself meandering during the middle episodes. As a zombie show, the action is perhaps a little too few and far between, but as a dark character study, the show succeeds. The bonding relationship between Joel and Ellie gives the show a powerful emotional core, but it's the tragic side stories that really got me - the Bill/Frank love story and the Sam/Henry story. The poignancy the show finds in these human moments makes it worth the watch.

The Last of Us has been my favorite game for the last 10 years, and after the first episode of this, I thought the same might happen with this show. I kept thinking that through episode 5, but after that, something became clear: where are the infected? For a world where the infected are so big of a threat that Joel & Ellie would travel across the country to try to stop it, that threat feels weirdly absent. It's still great, but that bothered me. Performances, visuals, and music all top notch.

trods well-worn paths and often lacks ideas or complexities, but the sad queer YA melodrama of e7 is beautiful in part due to ramsey just fucking breaking out with an S-tier child performance, and the finale is genuinely bizarre and brave. for a sweet surrogate father-daughter story to end like THIS, descending into an eden built on the back of a sickening lie and narcissistic anti-heroic violence, offering up your desired ending on a plate laced with fucking poison... holy damn.

A little too faithful to the video game, but solid nevertheless. Great acting all across the board and some efficient snips to the story to keep it to just 9 episodes. That said, I wish there were more zombies. The game made it pretty clear that the humans were just as bad as the zombies but here the latter are just an afterthought most of the time.

So weird that all crucial scenes were done much better by the game in terms of cinematography(!), tone and (voice) acting, even though most were verbatim reenactments of the game's scenes. Ellie has her moments here, but you're supposed to "fall in love" with her in a protective way, like Joel, and that's just not working here, mostly due to casting. I did like the way Bill & Frank's story got more depth and the way Ellie's immunity is explained here + Ellie's voice actor birthing this Ellie.

Season 1: I can't escape the feeling that the huge budget and top-notch everything are papering over the cracks a little, and what we're watching is actually a pretty generic (though extra dark) post-apocalyptic dystopia done to an unbelievably high standard. I tuned in to see "THE GREATEST STORY IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY!!!" .........that's it? I mean, it was fine for the most part, but I don't understand how it could possibly blow anyone away? It seems it has universal acclaim from all corners of the world, but I wouldn't say it was anywhere as interesting as "House of the Dragon", let alone classics like "Thrones". After S01: Not sure why everyone's so hyped up about this show. It's not crap, but season 1 is not as good as the first seasons of the Walking Dead. And considering how TWD deteriorated, I fear that this might follow a similar path. Also, the 1-2 episode arcs are too short so by the end of the season we don't really have established mission, nor the villain. The argument I hear is that it follows the game, but that might not be such a good thing. It's a different art form, a different medium.

Just finished the whole series. Well, it doesn't add anything new to the game or to post-apocalyptic settings in general. It's lots of walking and talking and only when the series tries something on its own - like with the wonderful third episode - it truly achieves something. Furthermore, it looked kind of cheap and too full of bad GGI. Solid performances though.

Having played many post-apocalyptic games (although not the game version of this), I found this to be a load of old hat.
