This movie feels simply unfinished. It rapidly shifts between different factions as the poorly explained and illogical plot attempts to unfold. The action sequences should be good but instead don't really make any sense as we often see the rules setup by the film broken with no explanation. Plus there's no ending to speak of, it's just highly, highly disappointing. A shame because Chris Evans is a decent actor that really, really needs a good role soon.

I don't think that Push failed due to over ambition. It failed, in my mind at least, because of a poorly written script. All of its problems stem from this, from the poor dialogue, to the overwhelming number of superhuman types, as well as with the lackluster story. The story is, at its core, good enough to work with, but it gets covered up by so many confusing elements that it isn't worth your time to get a conclusion from. A conclusion, that I'd like to add, doesn't come anyway.

The action with non-cgi effects looks nice and the premise is quite good, but the plot is quite awful and the acting is quite bad, especially the ever-irritating Dakota Fanning.

Plot moves too conveniently a bunch of times. Don't really like Evans, and Fanning was pretty annoying, though to be fair that was probably more of her character than her. Script had a couple okay twists, but didn't go into enough detail and abandoned what made the movie good a bunch of times. The ending, meh, not fulfilling thematically or emotionally. However, I like the concept of the movie, with the battling between different types of psychics, just wish it would have been handled better.

not as bad as i thought it would be. the ending was meh, considering they left a lot out for another movie which they wont get. action is solid but the thing that i liked most were the screaming asians, the love story part blew. fanning was solid and im surprised the flamer from fantastic 4 made me a laugh a couple of times.

I enjoy the little world in this movie and the action is pretty fun, but it is ultimatly flawed. The plot shrieks violently back and forth leaving plot holes as wide as moon craters, and though I normally like Dakota this is not her finest work.

I originally anticipated this would be a clear ripoff of Star Wars due to its concept of "pushing". However, Push carries its own ego and for the first quarter of the film it's quite good, with nice telekinetic duels and a flurry of nice ideals. However, quickly it turns into a mash of insignificance and inferiority. Plus, am I the only one who wanted Dakota Fanning to get shot in the head?

Characters r less irritating than those in the similarly presumptuous franchise attempt Jumper, but amazingly less interesting. "Heroes" here r complete blanks, whose greatest powers r defusing the viewer's interest - a problem 4 a film that demands ur attention due 2 overly complicated storyline filled w/"twists" (I think) that have alot 2 do w/ predicting the future (sometimes). Fx add nada & the action(barring 1 battle in oddly empty-despite- meals Chinese restaurant) is anticlimatic yawn.

There was a lot of cool shit in this movie but a generic script and a bare bones plot keep it from being good. Evans was good. He did well in his role of the superhero who hasn't gotten ahold of his powers yet. Fanning is in the same boat but I find her character more appealing because it has some teeth. I especially like the part where she goes to get drunk to enhance her powers. Hounsou is a great bad guy in the film. The setting and plot were good but they couldn't bring it together.

It could have been good, but I found it rather empty. The kid and the grown up kid were good but the plot and its pacing were bad. I think what the movie needed is a much darker and more interesting protagonist. Also I think 'mental' powers need to be thought about very carefully as the whole manipulation-mindwipe-manipulation spiral can become very convoluted.

Intermittently enjoyable superhero effort looks beautiful (with a gaudy but inviting Hong Kong as backdrop) and performances that are solid and full of conviction, (especially Fanning and Hounsou), but its screenplay is a convoluted and confusing mess, and at a certain point, there is just too much overload of a bevy of useless information, presumably in service to a sequel that never came. It’s still fun at times, with decent action scenes, but ultimately a bit “too much” to be successful.

A fun popcorn action flick about psychic agents working as a special task force for the government. Some cool ideas that don't really get explored too deeply, but there's some good action, and the logic mostly holds together. A couple of hot asian broads helps, too. A decent way to spend 90 minutes despite the massive plot holes.

It's far from perfect, but I liked the world building in it, it was different from the usual mutant and superpower types of movies. Too bad it stopped just when one was getting more into that universe, and no sequel will ever come. The powers were interesting too, though the screamer ones were dumb as balls.

First off, there was hardly any action in this "action movie." Next, there was such little plot in this movie it seemed like the director handed them a rough outline of what the idea was for the movie and said "ad-lib the rest and we'll throw in some sparkly stuff in post-production." Speaking of sparkly stuff, the special effects were horrid. By the way, can anyone tell me how it is that Nick couldn't roll a die with his powers but in the ending sequence he had perfect control of them?

I liked the complexity of characters and story. The beginning ruled right, the editing and pumping music drove movie forewards. Unfortunately way before the half of the movie it lost everything and became uncoherent mesh. The more and more B&W bad/good characters annoyed towards the end. The interesting premise of something different was gone for good.

Woah. This movie had far more depth than I had originally anticipated. a uniquely dumb movie. the poster features Chris Evans, a man with telekinesis, pushing objects with a psychic blast. however, in the movie, he is a Mover, and Pushers are actually those who "push" thoughts into people's heads. well, whoever came up with that should be "pushed" down a flight of stairs, because it encapsulates everything that's wrong with this dumb movie. they clearly decided to try a "legitimate" superhero movie, but then The Dark Knight came out and undercut them. owned.

'Push' is an exhausting, dull superhero movie, which is too bad considering it sports a concept for a superhero movie that I'd typically like. Sadly, it feels way too cheap and clunky. You can tell there's not much of a clear vision here. I'm sorry to say this isn't the start of a new franchise.

Enjoyable. It has action, a strong concept, Chris Evans, and an ending I didn't immediately see coming. I cared about the outcomes of the battles, even though I did feel left behind sometimes when it came to the powers of people. The ability to persuade someone just by looking them in the eye still gets me with how it's used in the film.

i liked it only because it highlights the importance of not knowing what to do untill just right before you will do it, (regardless of the implications of doing this vs not doing this shown in the movie, bec that doesn't matter-as that part is plain fiction) This fact though is not, this resounds with the advice - when doing something always be in the moment, don't think about future or past, 'think' is a wrong word, "don't dwell" .

Some plots have holes...this plot is a hole. Occasionally fun B movie does its best to hide behind some great cinematography (HK looks amazing) and gaudy hotel rooms. Sadly, the narrative ties itself into knots until Push loses all credibility even as a silly fantasy x-men knock-off. I need to rewatch all my favorite 90s HK flicks now. It surprised me in that I thought this film would suck. Well, it's not great, but I was intrigued by the setting of the film. The script is generic and nothing really surprises, so the disappointment comes from mishandling a film that seemed like it had a bit of potential that failed to materialize.

"Push" surprised me into liking it. I really didn't expect much from it to begin with, but I'm a huge geek for superpower lore. This flick felt a lot like what TV show "Heroes" could have been. It's easy to understand what they can do and why. The action is frantic, sometimes getting a little too shaky, but still engaging enough that I actually cared about the outcome of each battle. The only problem I had was a love story that feels wedged in and somehow pushes it's way into the forefront.

The super-powered fight scenes are decently imaginative and the movie is pretty to look at. The concept is interesting. I can fully understand why someone would want to make this movie, but the script is all over the place and it just doesn't work. This obviously thought it was building a world for a new film franchise, but there are too many characters here, too many conveniences, too many ideas being presented and not properly fleshed out. The charms of Chris Evans go wasted once more.

A real mess. It's trying to reinvent the superhero movie but does so in such a poorly-scripted mess of ideas that it just doesn't work. The story will have you screaming at the screen over all the gaping plot holes that are instantly apparent. It's baffling that such a story could make it to million-dollar production without anyone ever reading the screenplay and going "hold on, this makes no sense at all".

Someone told me this was underrated, so I rented it. Firstly, you should know that statement couldn't be further from the truth. This isn't a very good movie, and it was reviewed as such. Dakota Fanning is simply a terrible actress, and the movie is too all over the place to be enjoyable. Interesting start to this film, too bad it couldn't stay that way. It's riddled with plot holes that really eats away from what could have been a great sci-fi action film. This suffers from the same problems as the T.V. show Heroes does, when you have multiple people with powers (esp. time travelers/clairvoyants), you have to be awfully careful or you'll ruin the story.

"Put the gun in your mouth and pull the trigger" Not the best message to leave an audience with before cutting to the end credits after a disjointed and disappointing movie. This felt like a companion piece to Jumper, another forgettable mediocre film that made the mistake of leaving itself open for a sequel. When a seemingly great idea for a movie falls apart due to bad execution. Horrible script, some serious pacing issues, and the lack of an actual final fight with the big boss (isn't that action movie 101?).
