The first couple seasons benefitted enormously from Frank Darabont's deft touch, but AMC in their infinite wisdom decided to fire him. Since then it's been far more miss than hit, with the writers clearly making crap up as they went. I finally gave up after season 5.

What makes 'The Walking Dead' such a frustrating watch is that it has that odd episode or idea here and there that's borderline bloody brilliant. The rest however is every zombie/survival cliché you can think of: Stupid people doing stupid things because otherwise no zombie attacks. Unless you're dying for zombies, stick to the Carl-memes, and remember: It is your duty as human freakin' being to ask yourself: When all is said and done, is this 'The Wire'? Answer is nope. Nopenopenopenopenope.

There was something special about the circumstances of season 1 and two that you felt like you were on a journey with these characters as they learned to adapt to a new world. However since then everyone seems emotionless and every terrible decision seems justified by the typical "we need to do it to survive" mentality. It has lost the power to make me feel the emotion connection to the decisions these characters make.

Top-notch special effects and (more often than not) bottom of the barrel writing. That there are at any given time through the seasons little-to-no worthwhile characters (the regulars are all duds) is a problem. This, however, makes the show's "who'll die next? engine" extra suspenseful whenever there's finally a supporting player (e.g. Jeffrey DeMunn, Chad L. Coleman, Michael Cudlitz, Seth Gilliam) of whom one manages to grow somewhat fond.

It's popularity makes no sense. They focus so much on these pointless character interactions that often go nowhere instead of focusing on the zombies which is why anyone will watch the show in the first place. The zombies are just used as a convenient placeholder to further the story, it's dumb man. Did give me this though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9aM9Ch97U8 so it's tough to really rail on it

The Walking Dead has never been perfect. It's had a number of dumb decisions between the on screen product and AMC's meddling behind the scenes. However, this show has always provided me likable characters and interesting antagonists. Even with it's issues, TWD at its peak, was one of the better shows to hit the air, and even to it's point now (10 seasons) I still find it enjoyable despite the dramatic changes. No matter how this ends next season, I'll always appreciate this show.

Season 2 was horrendous. There are some redemptive moments following; the Governor is a genuinely great antagonist and single-handedly elevates the show whenever he's on screen, but as soon as he leaves the pictures, I lost all interest in the show. So I guess there have been 7 seasons and a spin-off since I stopped watching...

First and foremost, I'm a huge zombie fan. You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger fan of the genre. It's my favourite sub genre of horror. But I'm no bitch. (like what they did to Negan) My allegiance is to myself and nothing else. You put out a shitty product...I'll let you know. The Walking Dead has turned into garbage. It's become such a slog to get through, that I'm thinking about giving up. How the fuck are all the zombies not skeletons already? It's been 10 fucking seasons.

Definitely had its moments withing the opening few seasons. Ultimately had to drop it as it was just the same episode over and over. Seriously, it's like Groundhog Day minus humor plus zombies. The gap between its good episodes and bad is also very telling.

Ranges wildly in quality from season to season and episode to episode. The pilot was genuinely great, and arguably remains the best episode. The rest of season 1, pretty good, season 2 (aka farm season), THE WORST, season 3, ok, seasons 4 and 5, slow at points, but overall actually pretty good. They've weeded out most of the weakest characters and those left (Daryl, Carol, Glenn, Michonne, etc.) are a pretty good bunch. The show's ratings are absolutely mind-blowing.

Despite having one of the greatest pilot episodes in the history of television and a great first season, The Walking Dead is little more than a shallow melodrama with the thin premise of the post-apocalypse barely holding up the razor-thin characters. The production can be great when the show decides to spend the money but most of the time it just opts to be as cheap as possible. I gave up after three seasons, so take that as you will.

I don't know why I keep watching this. Right now, Negan is the only ONE good character in it, rest is near pathetic. It's getting worse than Lost. Series had some potential at some point during the 2nd and 3rd season, when the interhuman struggle for power wasn't only a question of who could have the deadliest guns and the biggest muscle.

Average score: 70. Mean score: 60. Season 1 has the highest scoring episodes, definitely a bunch of 80s in there. I find it quite odd that the zombies progressively become the interruption/distraction from most of the drama rather than the dramatic focus in the series.

Anyone care to explain to me how this grew popular? The comics it's based on is over the top, couldn't call it very good either. But one thing it suceeds is depicting how everyone lost their humanity, psyche altered. Instead show settles for mediocre melodrama and over seriousness.

The first 4 episodes I would argue are some of the best tv I've seen. A bit cliché, but engaging and ultimately an emotionally satisfying payoff. The rest of season 1 was ok. Season 2 was fucking awful. I stopped watching for about 2 years and then binged 3 and 4 on Netflix to see why it is still so popular. It's fun, but constantly hits the same beats over and over. Criticker user Dardan summed it up pretty well as, "A soap for men." Seems pretty fitting in my mind and I'm alright with watchin

Even in a marked overrun by zombies, The Walking Dead is for the most part an engaging watch. It peaks when it diverts from the usual zombie clichés (I know I'm pretty alone in holding season two as a favorite), but in the long run, the underlying nihilism of the premise wears you out.

Tough to review because of the shifting, yet overall extreme drop in quality over so many seasons. The first few are by far the best despite issues beginning when creator Frank Darabont leaves. A slow decline in quality transforms into a roller-coaster for the later half of the series. The few brief high points later in the series never reach those of the earlier material, and they're interspersed with sharp drops into long valleys of terrible writing and poor creative decisions.

Silly, childish show. 50 yr-old women and pizza boys are scoring 60 foot head shots on a dead sprint as they’re fleeing from cannibals. Even the elite of the elite would have trouble doing this. Love how someone is saved within their final gasping breath almost every episode. Too many lifelines. Why is food so scarce within these lush forests? If zombies are subject to rotting, why don’t the brains that keep them “alive,” also rot? Why isn’t their blood infectious, but their bites are?!

Dizi tarihinin en sağlam karakter gelişimlerine sahiptir. What the fuck did I just watch? I mean, the finale stands shoulder to shoulder with Game of Thrones as possibly the stupidest in history. So anyway, the show started great, and it's well worth watching all the way until the end of the prison story arc. Then comes Terminus which is so-so, then Alexandria which is where the soap opera really kicks in. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is absolutely fantastic as Negan but the Saviors arc is too dragged out, as well as Whisperers. Last season is just free fall.

This is a difficult show to rate because all of the seasons have had significantly varying quality, ups and downs. There's a lot of filler episodes in each season, a lot of the cast only shows up for half the episodes, etc. But there's still enough really good storytelling throughout the show that it remains highly rated for me. The last few seasons dropped in quality a bit.

Good for the first few seasons. Got progressively worse. Slight improvement for part of season 10. Perhaps due to the rush to finish or the lack of a script that knew where it wanted to go when it was started. The problem is the alternating repetitions, history repeats itself cyclically and increases the emotional disconnect with the characters, forcing even series' main characters to pretend to change themselves and entire seasons messages just to keep going and hide an actor's retiring.

These people trip and fall on their back with a zombie on top of them at LEAST 3 times per episode. Around the 200th time, round about season 7 you really just get sick of it. S07 picked the stakes back up, but S08 is an editing nightmare. Time jumps are absurd, 6 time jumps in 3 minutes. The 5 minute long closeups of 15 peoples faces, one in a row, is the most bafflingly terrible cinematography I've ever seen. Maggie's pregnancy (s08) lasts 35 days, then the baby is born a year old. A tv format is a great place for zombies, as it allows the characters to develop and make their deaths that much more impactful. AMC’s decision to stretch out the seasons is a bad one. The good is still enough to make up for the bad. The show hits a low point in S8, luckily S9 is one of the best seasons. If only Angela Kang could’ve been showrunner a couple seasons earlier.

I'm a big fan of the comic book and, for me, the TV show fully complements it. Can't wait for Negan, the mad b****rd!

Big fan of the show, but have to admit it lost quality in the last few seasons.

The first season was pretty average, had A LOT of really stupid moments where really predictable and cliche bullshit happens. Albeit, the tone was really well done and the makeup for the zombies was fantastic. By the time of season 2; however, the show became much more vapid. It was less about zombies and more about the idiotic survivors' melodrama.Whatever good there was in season 1 was completely dropped and the second season just turned the show into a bland, boring and aggravating mess.

Seasons 1-4: My first poorly reviewed television show. The problem is that it declined so fast. The first and second season were really good; with flaws but still good. Then came the third and fourth which really did nothing for anyone. It's hard to recommend this show at all.

The market is so saturated it's easy to discount this as entertaining or original. It is, even straying from its source material with its characters and story lines. The difference in this (and often what it's knocked for) is the long stretches of character development and motivation. Ugh, the cliffhanger at the end of the last season, with Neegan, left a bad taste in mouth. This may have jumped the shark.
