Here is your daily update on American Dream, well-shot on the formulae of almost every indie out there and its sinister message covered by so called humanism.

Quite alright, nothing magnificent. Moving, well acted, competently directed, the usual annoying snags you find in Hollywood productions, but ultimately satisfying enough. It really does feel like a lot of the stumbling blocks are just thrown up for the sake of it, and I do know how much this is not the true story. Good, nothing more.

Very good drama movie with W. Smith; a sort of struggle for life movie. America is one of those countries where the differences between rich and poor people are so big. Great to see in this movie Murphy's law : "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong"

"The Pursuit of Happyness" derives from the Constitution where Thomas Edison wrote that all men have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. One man (Smith), focuses on finding this happiness during a downward spiral in his life. He and his son are forced to live on the streets while he interns for a stock broker company. During his no-pay internship, he fights for the one job position that the company opens up for interns. Somewhere along the way, he finds his happine

I'm personally not into sappy feel good movies about how awesome pursuing the American Dream is. I wish Will Smith would go back to making fun movies. Still, it's not bad and it is encouraging. And the younger Smith got this one out before The Day the Earth Stood Still ruined his career for ever.

Great drama. It is touching, moving very easy to relate. Will Smith shows again his great acting skills, and supporting cast is also great, together with young Jaden Smith (is this his son). If You like good drama, this is right movie for You.

This is a great movie. I;m not sure why though, the plot seems pretty normal and I'm sure I've seen this before, but it sure in hell doesn't beat the massive performance from Will Smith and some of the supporting cast. Worth watching.

A fair adaptation of a good version of the classic American success story. This movie has a fair blend of sorrow, laughter, and a driving story to tie it all together. I'd recommend it, but you don't need to watch this more than once.

It's your archetypal solid all-rounder. Pretty strong in most areas, not really obviously weak any either, but slightly irritating in its averageness. The result is a sappy, but enjoyable and mildly affecting movie; in which I couldn't quite work out if the moral was 'money makes you happy' or 'homelessness makes you not happy''?

Manipulative but still somewhat enjoyable. I found it hard to believe that Will Smith was struggling with money problems and I really hate the message that money is the key to happiness. I always think Will Smith can't get any whiter but then this happens. Come out of the white closet, Will.

Well written, well acted, and well directed, but don't watch this movie on a day when shit's going badly. For as good as this movie is, you almost wanna jump off of a building through most of it. There is absolutely no gratification until the last five minutes or so. How much shit can one man take? This movie answers the question. I mean, really. I needed a hug after it was over. It held my interest the whole way through, though. I give it a cool A-, which translate to 90.

This is what I think of this movie: * Last year 25 million Americans requested emergency food assistance. Of those 25 million, 9 million were children. * 37 million Americans are considered poor. * Out of a total 2trillion, 400billion was spent on warfare. * ....... Lets just keep it with: this is a very touching and inspiring story, but instead they could have launched an open debate on the lack of social security and the hypocricy of the American Dream.

A sappy, sentimental drama. But it will get most people! In a good way. It is very hard to match the depth of feelings evoked in a father-son relationship as with ''Life is beautiful'', but this is modern and lighter. It works!

I might be the only person in the world who hated this movie. Smith's cute son may have been the only good thing in the movie. The pacing was so obnoxiously slow that I actually walked out the the theatre halfway through. I felt like I was reliving the same scenes over and over. Friends have told me that I would have liked it had I stayed until the end, but I shouldn't have to wait until the last 10 minutes of a movie to get any enjoyment out of it.

I'm torn between hating the film's message that money can solve all your problems, and that hard work can overcome all barriers, and liking the fact that it does a reasonably effective job of also showing how good hardworking people can get screwed by the system and the lack of safety nets available to them.

A rags-to-riches story based on real events. This is all about Will Smith's acting, and it's pretty solid. He's a very charming, charismatic actor, so whether or not this film succeeds for you is whether or not he wins you over in the early scenes. I think he will. There's one amazingly heartbreaking scene in a train station bathroom that is very, very well done. This movie will not blow you away, but you won't think it a waste of your time, either.

Wow!! I guess movies like this make you look at life from a different perspective. I was completely lost in the movie, it's an inspirational movie, I can still remember some touching scenes from the movie, the one especially where the protagonist breaks into tears while trying to push the door of a public toilet closed where he is forced to seek shelter with his son. I guess moments in life like these test the strenght of your character. Highly recommended!!

Right from the beginning, it is clear that the outcome of this film won't be good. The only thing that kept me interested till the end was whether they will go with overused and boring 'money is good, but family's whats important in life', or will they go as far as to deliver blatant and shameless 'money is happYness' message. And boy do they shove capitalism down our throats. Muccino is master of emotional manipulation. No wonder, seeing how he has a girls' name.

As Will Smith plays a below the poverty line father, he shows the sacrifices a father is willing to make for his son. The extent at which father goes for son to "pursue happiness" is heart wrenching. His devotion to creating a better life for the two of them is inspiring. Will Smith and son acting together may have seemed like a bad idea, however, it was phenomenal. The connection between the two was clear as day, which strongly added to the movie. Definitely go see it!
