Cop on motorcycle: "Pull over!" ... Jeff Daniels' character, Harry, looking at first surprised, then pulling at his sweater: "No, it's a cardigan but thanks for noticing." I love this movie so much.

Very fond memories of watching this with my father. The entire draw of the film is summed up in a line from one of the characters. "Just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!"

Got a massive soft spot for this, it's relentlessly juvenile and undoubtedly the best of the "Crazy Carrey" films. Carrey and Daniels make a great pairing, the admittedly low-brow humour remains consistently hilarious and the film never lifts in pace. Definitely one of those films you find yourself watching again and again, despite obvious immaturity. Also, check out the deleted scenes.

This movie is kinda like Nirvana. There is some talent, nothing really outstanding though, but when it all came together something magical happened. This ended up being a comedy for the ages. There is something immensely clever in the writing that can only be expressed by these infantile characters. It's insanely quotable and has actually aged surprisingly well. Now if only Jim Carrey would just end his career the same way Cobain did.

Quite possibly the most hilarious movie of its kind: a slap-stick, idiotic, juvenile, yet somehow brilliant comedy. There's so many great lines and it is endlessly re-watchable. Anyone who has ever said that comedy acting is easier than dramatic acting needs to look at Carrey and Daniels in this. They're fantastic - they have the greatest chemistry and actually do dead-pan serious acting so well that it makes the delivery of ridiculous lines even funnier.

Such as Just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber. You totally redeem yourself. Or when Jim Carey say so your saying there's a chance in 1 in a million. So many other lines with Cam Neely as C bas.

Carrey's films haven't aged that well because they were primarily star vehicles, but D+D is an exception because his (at the time) unexpected chemistry with Daniels is so strong that it compensates for the occasional clunkiness of the Farrelly's direction and their scattershot script. It inspired a truly terrible trend in comedy in the 90's though, and it loses points for that, but there are some undeniably funny scenes that highlight the obvious reasoning behind Carrey's superstardom.

It's in the title. Dumb and Dumber maybe (definitely) isn't for everyone. With two guys like this, in a movie like this, who could possibly enjoy it? That being said, it is actually very funny for the most part and while I found it a little slow it was still worth watching. The leads fit like a pair of extra gloves.

Dumb & Dumber is definitely one of my favourite comedies of all time and I watched it on repeat growing up. It's arguably Jim Carrey's funniest film and Lloyd Christmas is without doubt one of his funniest roles. Jeff Daniels is great also and it's hard to believe he's never done any other comedy roles because he's a natural here. The chemistry between the pair still makes me laugh after countless viewings. It's just a shame that it all went down hill from here for the Farrelly's though.

I don't blame people who think there's not much to see here, but I have to disagree. There's an almost sinister edge to the innocent stupidity which makes this more than just a goofy buddy comedy.

Okay okay, so I'm a sucker for this film, but this Carrey at his prime and his funniest. Jeff Daniels, too. Maybe they both have more talent, but not in terms of raw comedy. Bizarrely, one of the protagonists, Harry Christmas, is probably the most normal character Jim Carrey had played up to that point. A funny film in the Farrely Brothers mold that is, fortunately, a departure from the ridiculously over-the-top slapstick that had defined Carrey's earlier career.
