This film is a fun mix of comedy and science fiction. The cast does a good job here with their roles. The script has many original moments and scenes. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Thank God for Criticker, otherwise I would have totally forgotten about this movie. Now, I must make my daughter watch it. It's so good. This (and Frequency) is how I will choose to remember Dennis Quaid.

Does not stand the test of time. A dopey kids comedy flick that mostly serves to show how obnoxious Martin Short can be.

Sure this movie is excessively silly, and Martin Short can be a very annoying person at times, but Dennis Quaid's coolness really brings the movie together. It's very entertaining, and Martin Short does a great job of acting as himself while Dennis Quaid gets mad at him. Really good!

_Fantastic Voyage_ meets _All of Me_ in this derivative but watchable sci-fi comedy with a hand-picked Dante cast and some great, Oscar-winning special effects. Too bad it's so long and has a supposedly "happy" ending that follows Hollywood convention and ends up being completely unsatisfying.

The film feels very dated, but the premise is wonderful. Dennis Quaid is completely over the top, and wow, is Martin Short a weird guy or what?

It has the story, more crazy and child, but can be engaging, with charismatic characters and, above all, a great mood and fun.

I liked this film as a kid and when rewatching it as an adult (sort of) I still liked it. It's cheesy and a bit over the top at times, but I think Quaid and Martin work well.

The first half of this movie is really funny and sets up a great action comedy unfortunately the movie screeches to a halt about halfway through and never manages to regain it's footing. The second half has a completely different tone and doesn't work nearly as well but it's still charming enough not to be a complete waste of time.

Innerspace is Fantastic Voyage updated for the 80's, the decade of my childhood, and I had fond memories of it that have now been tarnished, proving that there are limits to nostalgia. The concept is promising, but Dante's leaden direction sucks the life right out of it, and Short's cartoonish antics, no doubt encouraged by Dante, quickly become irritating. Quaid is reliably dull, and Ryan is his suitably drab companion. The award winning effects are the highlight, but they are no longer special.

Innerspace is the epitome 80's camp; it's just a shame the film isn't better than it is. The premise is ridiculous and the film leans into it, but lands somewhere outside the realm of plausibility. The over-reliance on a mediocre and generic score to evoke emotion doesn't help either. Quaid seems to be having fun. Short is hysterical, in several ways. Picardo was a delightful surprise. Ultimately, the film is mildly amusing but severely dated.

i dont think i liked denni's character enough once inside. other guy had cool stuff, the arc of him changing and becoming more confident etc was cool but too sidey. and the way they try to mix the meg+dennis romance with the other guy wanting her etc it's more like a lil gag for laughs

Some great effects, good cast, but just too silly for me, and despite that silliness its spirit is as tepid as most '80s comedies.

I find this film to be quite typical of Spielberg productions from the 1980s. It's simultaneously way to complicated and almost completely lacking any real stakes. It's very much like a very expensive version of the live action films Disney made with Kurt Russell in the 1970s. It's entertaining enough as it floats by, but it doesn't leave you with much. What really sustains it is it's good cast, especially Short who is much more restrained here than in most films.

The epitome of 80s popcorn flicks, this was just pleasant to watch. Its light, occasionally actually funny, and i never felt its length despite it being 2 full hours. The cast clearly had a blast. Picardo as "the cowboy" was brilliant. The effects were good esp with the villains at the end

I've never seen Fantastic Voyage but have loved Innerspace ever since I first watched it as a young child. Fast moving, action packed, funny, different, two good leads, and containing special effects that have lost nothing in 25 years, the first half in particular is terrific. 'The Cowboy' then enters and the wheels start falling off, with the implausibilities becoming impossible to ignore. Still an immensely enjoyable film, although adults may need to turn their common sense chip off first.

This was a funny, exciting family favourite when I was 8 years old. Decades later I find it embarrassingly bad. The only good thing that came from it seems to be "Being John Malkovitch" taking the "person inside seeing through someone else's eyes" bit. Also "Total Recall" had a near-exact copy special effect 3 years later, of a person's fake face becoming distorted and revealed.

For a fluffy bit of 80s stupidity, this was way too long, too convoluted, too loaded with stupid Jerry Lewis-style slapstick, too riddled with science WTFs and too marred by the presence of that grinning banshee Meg Ryan. Still, the effects are pretty cutting edge for the time and, surprisingly, no one stooped to a butt joke.

What could be better then a sci-fi comedy about a man traped inside another man's body. You have a wild ride for people that like sci-fi and a great comedy and even a bit of a love story for those sort hearted losers. You need to give this a watch if you haven't.

Silly, campy, with plenty of cringey 80s gusto. The three leads are good, the story is enjoyable in doses. It is simply outdated, with little to recommend.

In general Sci-Fi and Comedy go together as well as chocolate and liver. Sometimes, however, something clicks. Martin Short can be an aquired taste; he can be over the top and sometimes doesn't know when to end the schtick. But, if given the right vehicle he can shine. Dennis Quaid is almost always very good. The two work well together here in the comedic update of "Fantastic Voyage".
