While it does fall to the standard sequel clause of huge explosions, tons of gun fights, car chases and random laughs, that's all the first film was ever about and this one does it all just that much better. The highway car chase is actually quite impressive and memorable. As with Bad Boys this movie accepts what it is: a straight up action film, and doesn't try to deliver anything else.

Unbelievable. Bad Boys II is numbing in its generic bang and clatter. Most of the character moments or, god help me, comic relief inserted between the carefully calibrated explosions are mindless at best, reprehensible at worst. I saw the first Bad Boys upon its release and can remember nothing of it now. Hopefully, the defense mechanisms within my mind will promptly provide the same generous excavation with the sequel.

Intensely troubling, and beyond the realm of film criticism. Probably the most violent picture ever made by a major studio, "Bad Boys 2" is intensely disturbing and misanthropic, and one cannot ever enjoy such a film with such a clear conscience. The action set pieces, however, are laudably eye-popping as the bodies pile up like sausages- the best and worst film Michael Bay will ever make.

Bad Boys II is a worse movie than its predecessor, which relied heavily on the chemistry and energy of its two leads, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. The writing is worse, the energy is absent, and there's a distinct lack of chemistry between them. Add in a seemingly never ending series of action scenes and filler, and a tone that is often incredibly vicious, and you've got a 147-minute unmemorable action movie that wears thin after an hour and a half.

Another attempt at a block buster by Will Smith. It's got glam, babes, fast cars, a drug lord, and a use for a Hummer. That's about it.

This movie is hilarious and the action is delightfully high-octane and absurd. Michael Bay should stick to buddy cop comedies and ditch the stupid robots.

Terrible movie, but its clichéd contributions to the "buddy-cop" genre cannot be overlooked. Plus, "this shit just got real!"

Good just not as good Maybe because I'm not a fan of Union Or the sex jokes were too repetitive .....No I think it was just trying too hard in general to top the original

Slightly drawn out, and at some points, delayed, but overall a good movie. Will Smith was on cue with his usual one line quips.

Dissapointing, really. Not nearly as good at the first, and too focused on aimless action (and Will Smith) without the plot to fill it out. It's still a half-decent watch if you have nothing better to do that night.

Most people know what to expect going into a Michael Bay movie; it will be an unnecessarily long movie with a lot of style-over-substance. If you can put your expectations in check, this is a decent movie. Yes, it is too long. Yes, the plot is boring. Yes, there are too many slow-motion shots. BUT... there is a lot of funny dialogue and Martin and Will have the same good chemistry they had in the first one.

It's a mindless, bloody, crazed action flick that crams more gunfire and explosions than you can shake a popcorn bag at. But it's so honest to itself, knowing it's nothing more than popcorn fluff, and runs with it. I hate the expression "turn your brain off and enjoy", but this film is so true to that expression that I have to say it.

If you can get past the arrogance of the main characters, and the stereotyped roles, and all the old ground the plot covers, it's a good action movie with some funny scenes. See it in HD if you can.

The first "Bad Boys" was passable fun, but Michael Bay gets a bigger budget and thus makes his sequel so over-bloated and more rash and gross, that even with some great pulse-pounding, sub blasting action - it's just absolutely ridiculous.

A ridiculous plot that takes them to Cuba and back isn't what kills this movie for me. It's how negative the whole thing is -- no one onscreen appears to be having an ounce of fun; they are vile, unlikable characters doing stupid, awful things. Bay re-uses all the notable action sequences in The Island anyway, and that's a movie actually worth watching. "This shit just got real."

What was fun in the first movie is here gone. Actually I never liked much of Lawrence, but Smith tries to be funny here. Here and there. There was also some tasteful eye-candy with fancy camera movements and action but Bay clearly got too much carried out with the gear. The story was terrible bull.

Really over-egged action movie which is really little more than a series of explosions, chases and aggressive acting linked together by what passes as a script. Very weak. Characatures - maybe to be expected, but they could be 2-3 dimensional characatures. Some interesting continuity errors and bizarre shooting angles are thrown in for good measure. Not one to make an effort for.

Giant leaps ahead in casting for the supporting characters and a much glossier production design (and more and bigger explosions) make this far more watchable than its predecessor.

This movie is just a string of ridiculous action setups. This makes it an amazing movie to watch if you have 5.1 surround and at least a 57" HDTV. It has at LEAST 4 car chases, all of them visually impressive... If you just want pure unadulterated action, watch this 2.5 hour movie.

A fun summer blockbuster with enough explosions to keep the intelligent side of your brain quiet. Unfortunately the paper thin screenplay runs dry after the explosive highway car chase.

This series is possibly the greatest achievement of the lowbrow auteur. It's absurd and over-long, there are glaring continuity errors plus the accidental ecstasy scene is just painful, but it's got panache and spectacle to spare.

What made the first one rather good is completely gone in this sequel. Its like with Transformers cause its all about making bigger explosions and making the characters "funny" in an awkward situation that has something to do about someone doing drugs they didnt intended. (Mom in T2, Lawrence in BB2) Still MB knows his handywork when it comes to action scenes, but we should all agree by know that he should not direct his own sequels. Lets see about Transformers 3...

Bad Boys II is typical Michael Bay nonsense, but like the first film there's still enjoyment to be had. Will Smith & Martin Lawrence are great together once again and their chemistry, humour and bickering carries the film through it's drawn out segments. The set pieces alone though make this a worthy watch. The opening and finale both enjoyably deliver and the car chase in particular is the standout. Bad Boys II is a fun sequel but it's unjustifiably overlong and in every way nonsensical.

Bad Boys II captures the same chemistry and love that most have for the characters, but aside from them, the movies lacks an identity, and runs into the trouble Hollywood and buddy cop sequels have. Bay decided to go another level that the film doesn't need, in a way over the top arch, and loses gas very quickly, finding it to be longer than needed, leaving most of the film feeling filler and inconsistent with what it's trying to be, because the film tried being bigger than it is. Meh.

A film that is bigger, bolder and Bay-er; none of which are good things. Bad Boys 2 is in the same realm as the first in the series where it is just a bad action flick with a few memorable action sequences and dialogue. The only saving grace is yet again the chemistry between Lawrence and Smith. Not much else is worth watching.
