Jim Carrey is getting old and he is not as entertaining as he used to be. The film is nothing special, an ordinary stupid comedy, but I found it really hilarious at some parts.

Liar Liar 2. I quite liked it, Jim Carrey is good as always and the central point in it being as good as it is is the romantic subplot. The plot is ludicrous, the twists/developments are ridiculous, but damnit, I love Carrey. I do. Not laugh-out-loud hilarious, more a drama than a comedy in my opinion. Recommended if you like Carrey. Recommended if you at least like Carrey's dramatic outings. Avoid if you don't.

i did laugh, but was also disappointed by everything-goes-fine-then-there's-a-bad-part-but-it-all-turns-out-ok-anyway mentality. jim carrey is getting a little old to keep doing the same old stuff.

Something really clicked with me here, I mean its not that good of a movie, but i found it extremely hilarious a lot of the time, all be it being extremely corny, especially with the standard cliche love story. If you like Carrey, give this a shot.

There's some fun 2 b had watching where each "yes" will lead, but the narrative's a little 2 predictably Hwood high-concept as the film eventually falls in2 a series of fortune cookie aphorisms. 1 of the problems is that the script wants 2 keep things so light u never really get a sense of Carrey's loneliness. Since his buddies keep coming around he just seems bored. So there's no real sense of character growth; 1 minute he's a funny guy who says no, the next he's a funny guy w a full schedule.

I was alittle worried to see this movie because as a kid I always loved the Jim Carrey comedies and I felt that he might be washed up, but I was very surprised to find that it was actually good. I think one of the main reasons I loved this movie is because I love Zooey Deschanel.

Another feel-good Carrey extravaganza. Through the stupendous plotline and unconvincing but often amusing distractions, it still feels slightly more like a drama than a usual comedy, something which helps it seperate itself a bit from it's kin. Although Yes Man relies more on script than the usual Carrey visual comedy, sometimes this causes it to stutter between one scene to the next. Underneath though it's nothing more than a vehicle, or even an excuse, for more of the usual crazy antics.

This movie is pretty fun. The story is entertaining for the majority of the time (the ending is a tad weak). The laughs are constant but there aren't many big ones (the fight scene stands out). The acting is good, and while it's nice to see Rhys Darby get work, no one is really stepping out of their comfort zone (Zooey Deshanel as the quirky girl? NO WAY!) Ultimately the experience is forgettable until someone brings the movie up and then you say, "Yeah that movie wasn't too bad."

I don't remember the last time I actually enjoyed a Carrey movie (maybe Dumb and Dumber), but this movie was alright. Carrey really did have me laughing in some spots. Now I can't say the same for my date's viewing of it. Finally he is able to reign in his physical comedy, and in the one or two points where he did go over the top I actually found it funny. The rest of this cast (minus Darby) is blah, but who cares. Nice surprise. Jim really "carrey"d the film.

The central motif is well developed, as Carrey's charming Carl moves from melancholy conservatism to inspiring free-spirited-ness before a well-placed stick in the spokes adds nuance to the message (see the "no" in his ex's apartment). The romance narrative isn't as impressive; it's formulaic, with a predictable fall out (the FBI twist that instigates it also seems far fetched), though Carrey and Deschanel have decent chemistry. Darby's hilariously nerdy Norman is a notable supporting character.

By no means the worst kind of selfhelp romcom yackfest even though it trips on all its generic hurdles. It has a kinda nice "message" even though it's presented with cumbersome contrivance & weird manic unfocus. Carrey is able to be very charming or very annoying & falls right between them here in a way that kinda suits the material. The story lends itself to crazy comedy scenarios but is crippled by the tortuously familiar structure. I continue to be unable to stand Deschanel in a movie.

It never gets lame or sags; constantly solid writing from start to finish. I mean, realistically he probably would have gone broke but they did account for it with him also getting more money. The chemistry was excellent & characters were surprisingly well developed. Advertising is such that you could never *really* do this. As usual, advertising ruins most things. But that the movie knows that; acknowledging real politik sets it apart & grounds it. Explored the premise well given the run time.

It's nice to see Jim Carrey back to his old comedic ways. This film certainly delivers a handful of good laughs, but for some reason that I can't put into words, it felt like something was missing; It almost felt hollow or something. Carrey and Deschanel propel what could have been a bomb of a film, into a halfway decent flick.

It's your standard US comedy, with the gimmick (to appear inspirational), the love story (that inevitably goes wrong, only to come good in the finale) amongst the other usual suspects! but it has Jim Carrey, who adds his own unique styles to give us enough laughs to at least keep us entertained. Nice wind down after a long day type movie.

Jim Carrey stars in a fun premise with a generic love story. Although there are laughs to be had, the film fails to do anything special with the story's potential. Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel are charming opposite each other, but the stand out performance by Rhys Darby is delightful.

Pretty solid film with Jim Carrey playing a character very similar to that of what he did in Liar, Liar, but I actually ended up enjoying this film more than that one. This is very comparable to Bruce Almighty but not as preachy or overly emotional. The whole plot of saying yes to everything actually wields some really amusing outcomes and gives this light hearted fare a bit of weight to keep itself grounded. I enjoyed this and it is worth a rental.

Absolutely hilarious. Im not a big Jim Carrey fan, but this movie is more about the great script than making funny faces (there are a few of those too and damn their funny). Zooey Dechanel is adorable and Munchausen by Proxy rocks big time. A very happy movie that pushed my buttons just right.

To me, Jim Carrey's faces and antics seemed rather forced in this one. Not to mention the fact that the movie is pretty much Liar Liar mixed with Bruce Almighty. That being said, it's very easy to watch and to be entertained - which sets it apart from a lot of comedies these days. The comedy is lifted immeasurably by Rhys Darby as Carrey's boss. Alongside the legendary Carrey, Darby stands out as the comic relief - something as unbelievable as it is downright hilarious.

There is a good, solid moral in this film - and that is by taking chances and leaving your comfort zone, you can achieve a great deal of success and happiness in life. But the film isn't nearly as touching as that sentiment is. Carey is a good actor, but this is well below him. His character is so similar to the one in 'Liar Liar' that he more irritating than charming. And that isn't a good thing considering the sort of film this is.

Is there anything really original or funny about this movie? I mean, come on? The whole "yes" thing made no fucking sense{I don't mind total exaggerations but I think they need to have some semblance of logic and relatability to be funny} and the whole joke was played to death in an annoying way. The only thing funny about this flick, ironically, is the poster advertising the movie.

If "Yes Man" isn't funny enough, I don't think it's Carrey, because he does the best he can here. The movie on the other hand just doesn't have enough material for him to run wild. A few scenes stand out, but overall it's not much better than "Four Christmases." This one has a bigger heart underneath, it just needs to be a little sharper and a little wittier. The romance between Carrey and Deschanel is what hurts the film more, because she is so much younger - it just isn't convincing enough.

Yes Man is a decent romantic comedy, but could have been improved upon had its lead character actually had some sort of reluctance to saying "yes" to every situation that passed his way. It becomes too predictable and cliché by the end, and although it's got a good message that everyone can draw from, it's not funny enough to be called a good comedy. It also mismanages its cast, with the more interesting characters getting pushed to the side so Jim Carrey can be the star.
