I'm not going to pretend I've seen more than 10% of the episodes at most, but I think I've seen enough to know that I find it dull, hacky, marginally funny at best, and its treatment of nerd culture far more insulting and condescending than loving (look to Community or Chuck for that). 30 points because I guess I'd rather watch it than Two and a Half Men.

The writers are obsessed with putting a joke in every second line of dialogue. These jokes are never funny and everything else about this show sucks as well. I never watched "Two Broke Girls" but until I do, "The Big Bang Theory" is the crappiest show I know.

Chuck Lorre is a synonym for TV garbage. This show only appeals to those who work all day doing shit they hate so they can come home and just veg out to mindless crap so they can hopefully forget their shit lives for 2 seconds, we've all been there. The actors are all terrible in this and they seem like they are just waiting for their turn to speak. One of the worst shows ever made

I honestly don't know why people hate on this show so badly. Because their precious "nerd" culture has been popularized? I'd rather see a popular comedy show that references sci-fi and fantasy stuff than something that relies solely on physical comedy and fart jokes. This does contain some low-brow jokes on occasion, but the blending of topical situations with modern pop culture is a recipe for success. The down side is, characters become parodies of themselves the longer the show goes on.

This show was good for a couple of Seasons when they were playing video games and stood out from members of society. But then they turned this into friends and these geeks became normal people. I mean the whole point of this show is to have people that are different but now everyone is the same. Just watch friends then if you like that.

This is about as generic and forgettable as it gets as far as network sitcoms go. The only thing it does differently is swapping misogynistic tropes for tropes about comic book fans and nerd culture. Does that constitute as progress? Possibly. It certainly doesn't constitute as good television.

The worst show of all time. I had a friend invite me over and he suggested we smoke weed and watch TBBT. I seriously thought this was a cruel prank he was playing on me. The only laughs I heard were from the obnoxious laugh track. As a matter of fact, all of you defending it, go to youtube and search "Big Bang Theory without laugh track"and realize just what a sad piece of shit this show truly is. "The burning of the library of Alexandria by way of the Hot Topic printing press."

The Big Bang Theory is often found on lists of best sitcoms, with good reason. A skilled cast working with brilliant writers sustained the excellence of TBBT's comedy through its twelve seasons. The characters grow and evolve throughout the show's run, creating new situations and dynamics for humour. The science that is frequently referenced in the show is at a high level, but is always presented in a way that supports the comedy without overshadowing it. Highly recommended.

I will be honest, I avoided this series because I always felt that it is poking fun at people like me (and it does but in an incredibly tasteful way). We, scientists, are a bizarre bunch of people and they used our environment and geek culture very aptly. I watched 3 seasons now, and it did not go weak yet (sit-coms survive 4-5 seasons). Sheldon is an amalgam of me and my wife (our worst tendencies put together-indifferent sociopath and clean freak respectively); it makes it quite fun to watch.

The worst show I have seen almost every episode of. The problem to me is not that it's a stupid person's idea of what smart people are like, or that its characters are stereotypical, it's that the characters are so mean to each other. These are friends? If people are consistently mean and shitty to you, they are not your friends.

After 3 seasons of mild entertainment, The Big Bang Theory cements itself as the lowest common denominator of TV sitcoms. The jokes are repetitive and predictable, the characters are often mean-spirited, and the plot revolves around rewarding selfish/ self-serving behaviour. And this schlock lasts for 12 seasons.

I have never once laughed at this show. I can't remember where I heard this, but I liked this take: Community is funny for nerds, The Big Bang Theory is funny for people who like to laugh at nerds. It's so god-awfully true. This show's popularity astounds me, and kind of saddens me. Not to pity those who enjoy it because that'd be mean and weird, but to pity what's become of the sitcom.

The jokes in this show at the start were good but it has become a mess of still trying to remain relevant . The use of the laugh track is probably what bothers me the most as the good jokes are often the ones where no laugh track is used. The audience goes nuts for Sheldon but it is Raj and Howard that provide the bulk of the real humour but Sheldon gets all the credit for being the "real" nerd character. This has become one of the worst comedies on television
