It’s fine, but not as FINE as Jennifer Aniston holy moly. I didn’t even clue in for about ten minutes that this was another Adam Sandler on vacation movie.

Sandler might just be mostly coasting on his decades old successes, but this one has a hint of a silver lining--at least his character isn't quite as idiotic as normal. Give it a pass, if you have any choice in the matter, if not, you have my condolences.

Sandler has settled in to his niche nicely. His early movies were fantastic. His middle period was the worst. Now he's found a nice little niche where his movies are basically exactly the same, provide good enough entertainment to pass the time, and don't bother reaching for the stars. You know exactly what you're getting in to, and they're perfect for hangovers or watching while doing light chores.

There is a mystery afoot and that mystery is why a grown man that should know better pressed play on this in the first place.

Could perhaps be most kindly described as "undemanding" - coming on the heels of KNIVES OUT, this verrry laid-back spin on Agatha Christie is a bland (if inoffensive) sitcom by comparison, whose premise cannot sustain a feature film. Aniston is the highlight here, attempting a quietly "loopy" Diane Keaton impression, which she could have pulled off in a better movie, followed by Sandler moving comfortably into middle-aged straight man territory. Just squeaks by as watchable but forgettable.

Murder Mystery takes inspiration from the multitude of Agatha Christie adaptations, and combines it with a car chase and the usual brand of Sandler humour, to deliver an old-fashioned romp that lives up to the title. Is it really a Sandler flick if his usual cohort aren't starring in it? The European cast is good, though weirdly even when they're overacting they don't stick out as much as Sandler does. It's not a great film, but has plenty of chuckles and what you expect from a Sandler film.

I was surprised by this. By no means is this a fantastic whodunnit or a great comedy, but it did combine the two somewhat successfully.

Newacheck approach to film directing:1. Get a (low) budget.2.Determine your deadline3.Churn it out. when I first put this on I double checked if this was actually meant to be a movie or a pilot for a show. It just looks not just cheap, but directed in the easiest, most economical, visually boring way possible. Newacheck has ZERO art in him. But did I laugh? Yeah, a bit. Sandler and Anniston are good together and between the two of them they eke out a movie that is JUST watchable.

As much trash as Sandler's been putting out in recent years, this one is not half bad. The murder mystery works and the payoff makes sense. With that being said, I sadly expect another five "Jack & Jill" type films from Sandler moving forward.

Sandler. Netflix. Enough said. If you're a fan, you will probably find it entertaining, but for the rest of us it's just another faceless film thrown together because Happy Madison is contractually obliged to create content for the streaming giant.

I love Clue and the genre needs more entries. Even though the plot in this is weak and nothing makes sense, the film was surprisingly enjoyable. I was embarrassed about it, but I laughed a lot.

This was pleasantly surprising. The plot isn't particularly smart, but it has enough in there to keep you guessing without becoming too annoying at any point. Has a strong cast, which makes this worthwhile too, although Adam Sandler seems to play the same character in every single recent film. It's a bit of light-hearted fun for a movie night viewing.

A parody of the whodunit genre in a way similar to 'Knives Out' but with none of the wanky 'look how funny we are for doing this' which spoils that film. But it is perhaps too simple for its own good (selling itself short) and not funny enough for this viewer to be satisfied for the duration of the film.

Aniston and Sandler actually had quite good chemistry together so I hope to see them together more often. Fun enough parody of murder mystery movies. The movie takes too long to get started and then goes downhill quick after the first murder though. Extra bad points whenever they downplay the gorgeous Aniston and have her character talk about other women as though she doesn't hold up. Fav scene: car chase.

My wife did me wrong by turning this movie on and immediately falling asleep. I mean, it kept me entertained, but the same type of entertainment as, say, watching Cricket or Golf when you're drunk and lying on the couch, and the remote control is just too far away for you to change the channel.

Filmetto innocuo e senza pretese, che per quanto banale e superficiale riesce ad incuriosire nella parte gialla e strappa anche qualche mezzo sorriso.

My score is lower mostly because of technical reasons. Is the story particularly original, or do anything particularly different? No. Is the acting particularly impressive? No. Cinematography? Just decent, etc. That being said, I do still think this movie was a pretty fun time. Despite not a lot particularly impressing me, it just felt like everybody was having a great time, and the humor was enjoyable. One of Sandler's more entertaining movies in recent years.

Decent enough "I like making silly movies because I can" Sandler flick. Started slow, but got funnier as the film progressed. If you skip this, you won't miss anything, but it's a worthy watch if you've got 90 minutes to kill on a plane or something. There was surprisingly good chemistry between Sandler and Aniston.

Surprisingly this was better than I expected. This would have been even better if Sandler didn't phone in his performance half the time. Aniston is great in this and carries Sandler enough for their lead pairing to work. Murder Mystery doesn't shy away from it's Agatha Christie inspirations and instead celebrates it and is rewarded by faithfully following this winning formula. It's a light entertaining way to spend 90 mins, and leaves itself nicely open for a sequel.

The first half is surprisingly entertaining, as you meet all the characters and get the set up. After the murder itself things dip a little, and the mystery-solving itself is more silly (not necessarily funny) farce than the clever, engaging story it could have been with a tad more effort. You’ll forget it all within a week but it’s passable stuff if you go in with low expectations (and let’s face it, who wouldn’t?).

These Adam Sandler Netflix movies make ideal turn your brain off fare for treadmill viewing. No risk of missing anything important. This is an ok comedic take on Agatha Christie, but the tone feels misjudged. Too much of the characters cracking wise and being “in on the joke,” which somewhat neuters the comedy. (Like, American Pie wouldn’t be funny if Jim was laughing at his own embarrassment.) Aniston looks amazing for fifty; whatever work she’s had done is far more tasteful than Courteney Cox.
