A surprisingly decent time-killer with much more heart and soul than I was anticipating. I liked the scene of catch, and the bar scene was really well acted and written. Reynolds and Scobell were both very entertaining and made the whole movie worth watching. It’s unfortunate that it’s so rushed I had a hard time caring about anyone else. The pacing definitely harmed this movie more than anything else. You’ve seen movies like it before, but it’s got enough laughs and heart to pass the time.

It doesn't exactly set out to win awards, yet not the worst way to spend your evening. For a straight-to-streaming, it's actually fairly funny, entertaining and even moving. And great cast.

I think we're at a weird time period specifically for stories when it comes to movies/television and streaming. There are tv series that unquestionably are bloated because there isn't enough story for that format, and there's The Adam Project that is trying to fit in a series worth of emotional reveals without enough time to warrant any impact. I applaud the attempts but if your time constrained than you need to focus that attention on either action, or drama. This in-between did nothing for me.

Like some sci-fi Peggy Sue got Married monster. Ryan Reynolds cant stop playing his Deadpool character (not much of a complaint to be honest, I'd watch him quip his way out of a Judgment of Nuremberg remake. Toss another movie into the secretly glad COVID happened so pretty much everything comes straight to streaming so I can pause a movie to poop and reflect.

Maybe I'm being a little forgiving here but I liked it. It's good. I could see why some would view this as another generic Netflix sci-fi because I did sometimes, but there are a few things that place it above that. There was a surprising amount of heart here in how it dealt with family (not only was the mom great, but it stressed the importance of fatherhood too), which won me over. Reynolds didn't do anything THAT original for him but it was nice to see him dig a little deeper on occasion.

Absolutely love this movie. Reminiscent of some of the family sci-fi action adventures of the 80s like ET, Explorers and The Goonies

A boy learns to appreciate mom; as a man, he rediscovers his childhood appreciation of dad. For a film this glib to work, the writers need to supply the actors with better lines than these. Otherwise, as here, the result is bound to prove irksome. Oddly, Ruffalo's performance is weak and unconvincing. Keener has nothing to do. Hollywood never stops honing its formula, yet this does not seem to prevent the final product from being as flavourless and unsatisfying as ever, if not in fact more so.

Back to the Future meets Star Wars meets Top Gun meets Guardians of the Galaxy meets The Last Starfighter meets Somewhere In Time—and that’s just for starters—in the abysmal Netflix movie The Adam Project, which is what happens when you wish on a cursed monkey’s paw that Hollywood would make more original movies.

It has more depth in its fatherhood and motherhood themes than expected for this type of "for the fun of it" tween entertainment. Scobell impressively holds his own sharing the screen with Reynolds. The weakest parts tend to be when it slips too far into special effects and action sequences, so it could have benefited from a lower budget.

Well, that was a ton of fun. It's a feel-good flick for millennial dads masquerading as a kids' movie. If you liked Reynolds' other recent stuff (Detective Pikachu, Deadpool), you will like this. I especially enjoyed the themes around parenthood. Oh, and the child actor Walker Scobell is a revelation. Just don't expect hard sci-fi.

Cute and funny, what else do you need? There's pretty much zero depth or originality to that movie but it's quite entertaining as long as you're okay with Reynolds' childish style of humor.

If Ryan Reynolds is in it, I'll watch it (yes, even 'Green Lantern'). In many ways a cheesy film and with that 'flat' look possessed by all Netflix-backed productions. But it's fun, and at the very least is a vehicle for Reynolds to be the smart ass we all love (or hate) him for. I wonder if the homages to 'Return of the Jedi' (the car chase scene in the woods) and 'Good Will Hunting' (the scene in which Ruffalo as dad embraces Reynolds as son) are intentional or Levy's subconscious at work?

Light sci-fi family film. Passable entertainment but probably a little too rote and predictable for genre fans. Lacks for character/plot depth, but still got in me in the feels once or twice (that man Ruffalo, as always, and Garner too!). Saldana is unfortunately only a throwaway footnote, when the entire plot could really have revolved around her. I expect that kids will enjoy this, though I kind of wish it had gone all in on that audience, as it is it ends up a bit middling - but fine enough.

You already know it, but it's another Deadpool movie in an alternate dimension. Be prepared for a lot of snarky comments and Ryan Reynolds making the same pained puppy eyes each time he's faced with emotional trauma. Also, look for moments of cheap Guardians of the Galaxy -moments with the old timey music choices paired with the action bits. Overall, it's still an entertaining movie, but there are just a whole lot of plot holes there along with actors just hanging about for their paycheck.

This is a really fun, entertaining sci-fi film. It has maybe elements of ET and Men in Black about it I suppose, at a stretch. The CGI is good and there's plenty to keep you watching throughout its just under 1 hour 40 minute running time. Yes, I'd definitely recommend it. Its not exactly original as such and it is cheesy but its a good bit of fun and surprisingly engrossing overall, so its worth seeing anyway.

Though the pacing is pretty horrible and there's not really anything new being done, I enjoyed this! I thought both of the leads were very likable and had great on-screen chemistry. The script was pretty decent and I didn't think Reynolds was too Reynoldsy lol. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a film with family or just something light and fun. The filmmaking is solid and there’s some funny moments but the dialogue takes “too clever by half” to new levels and a lot of the cast are completely wasted and yeah it’s basically a perfect movie to watch when you’re visiting your mum and she’s just finished watching Agatha Raisin or something

I thought this was a lot of fun. Ryan Reynolds is great as always, and the kid does a good job portraying a younger Ryan Reynolds. There's a decent level of Sci-fi, but it's a fairly family friendly movie, so things don't go too crazy.

The Adam Project seems to be aimed aggressively at tweens with an unusually noticeable restraint in language and a focus-grouped-tested array of sci-fi paraphernalia modified from other sources and deemed to be "cool". The film is decent, if a touch generic. Lots of action, lots of CGI, a Reynolds performance that is interchangeable with anything he's done in the last decade. The cast is good but this is definitely not near their top work. Fun but forgettable.

Ryan Reynolds is just always Ryan Reynolds, and it's almost doubled here with the younger Ryan Reynolds played perfectly by the young Scobell. The plot is whatever, but it has more heart than I would have expected. It's exactly what I think most Netflix movies should aspire to be--entertaining, digestible, and fun.

Ryan Reynolds plays Ryan Reynolds. Sadly, I'm not a big fan of Ryan Reynolds, but this movie turned out relatively OK, especially for a Netflix movie. While I wouldn't call the kid the best actor in the world, he did get the best lines and was able to deliver them well. The protagonists all were pretty blah. Overall, I'm going to say this movie has a tone similar to a low budget Guardians of the Galaxy. Points off for the repetitive "nerd with an inhaler" trope.

1 zaman yolculuğu filmi. Gelecekten kaçan Ryan Reynolds, 12 yaşındaki olduğu yıla döner. Kendi kendine konuşan Ryan Reynolds, geçmişte yapılan hatalar gelecekte patlar misali geçmiş ve geleceği değiştirmeye karar verir. Özel efektlerin iyi olduğu film, geleceğimiz hakkında bilgiler veriyor. Şimdiki zamanı iyi kullanan film, fizik kurallarını da altüst ediyor. Filmin sonunda, Baba seni seviyorum. Adam gibi Adam. It's fairly clear about 10 minutes into this that much like the previous Reynolds-Levy collaboration "Free Guy", nobody gave a flying fuck about the plot of this film. It's a good premise wasted on a lazy, idiotic script. So ... I dutifully stopped caring about it too.

“The Adam Project” is an engaging watch that manages to be both entertaining and emotional, despite its flaws. [Spoiler] The ending is absurd. Why would the father not choose to prevent his death with the "we shouldn't alter the future" explanation, when they just changed a colossal thing for the entire human race? Really cheap, done for dramatic purposes. Other than that, it is a somewhat childish, family friendly movie (looking at you, disappearing bloodless murder victims).

Its familiar territory for Reynolds and at times you cannot help but think these films are beginning to suffer because he plays the same character on repeat. However then this tries to pull on your heart strings and does so effectively at times. We all wish we could change a moment of grief in our lives. Where this film excels is allowing us to understand we have only one shot with the ones we love. Aside from that powerful message, the action and story are fairly generic.

I enjoyed it. It'll absolutely be a divisive film. Firstly, it looked spectacular and was created for OLED televisions. Some of the best non-nature documentary HDR I've seen. A visual feast to be sure. It was also filmed (at least partially) in Vancouver, and it's fun to recognize some old haunts. The chemistry between the actors was pretty solid, and I'm not yet tired of Ryan Reynolds playing Ryan Reynolds as long as the execution of the surrounding pieces works. The science nerds will hate it(
