"Tell me ... do you get bored? You will." Once again we are shown Aquaman cannot be made cool. He does a big macho show off to batman then gingerly backstrokes away. Some Canadian rock band named villain literally no one but super autists care about threatens to destroy the world but only a few people in Russia are kinda effected by this an-NO ONE CARES This felt like a lot was taken out but there was still way too much left in. I finally get to see all these characters and they fight CGI bugs.

A schizophrenic yet by-the-numbers affair that has all the emotional depth of smashing action figures together. So obviously forced into a mold by a committee in damage control mode that it's hard not to be distracted with all the obviously reshot scenes (so many dialogue close-ups), annoyed by the male-gazeyness of the Amazons or bored by the badly edited, ugly CGI action. Batman comes off as a chump and the desperate attempts to make Aquaman cool are hilarious to me.

I had a decent time. That doesnt go without saying there are some flaws. Some of the CGI was noticeably weak, and I also found the whole cube plot to be a little silly. The humor doesn't always work, but when it does, it's due to the chemistry between the cast. I would say they drive the film and make it watchable. Editing my review in 2021 - Zack Snyder’s version makes this look like a bit of a tonal, inconsistent mess. It’s not terrible, but it’s very crammed and rushed.

We did it, we the internet critics won. We criticized the prior DCEU movies to such a degree that they just decided to stop trying to be unique, and they just made a generic family-friendly Marvel movie.

I've been to a film festival these last days, watching movies based on their title alone. Man, that took me places; From Brasilian body horror to Iranian social satire. If you went in totally blank, you'd still be able to predict every single beat of 'Justice League'. There is no joy of storytelling, no will to try new things or play around with the silly ensemble of dated superheroes. 'Justice League' is a juggler fighting to keep the balls in the air until the next act is ready. Depressing.

DC is hit and miss with casting, and that issue is compounded with its hit and miss consume choices, Batman's ridiculous shoulder pads are a testament to that and The Flash looks downright idiotic. But Wonder Woman and Aquaman can almost hold this movie on their own. Unfortunately, Snyder didn't do them any favors with a villain that no one but devout fans would recognize, but at least Steppenwolf was lukewarm, which is a whole lot better than the crap Eisenberg took on Batman V Superman.

This is the sort of shit fest you get when a room full of weasel faced executives get together to A-B test the film project to oblivion. This isn't Justice League it's the Chinese wok stir fry of random bored looking actors playing superheroes. They couldn't even manage enough creativity to not rip off Lord of the Rings scenes either with the Motherbox. This hot mess of a franchise is probably non salvageable at this point. Gal Gadot remains one of the few bright spots. Reboot all except Gadot.

Justice League suggests to me that the DCEU is a sinking ship beyond course correction. I hate to compare the two but it has never been more evident that the DCEU is playing catch up with the MCU. It feels like one step step forward with the success of Wonder Woman and now many steps back with this underwhelming ensemble. This directionless and rushed mess clings to the likability of its protagonists. Yet the humour is forced, the CGI is notably poor and there is a complete lack of development.

It's like a shitty version of the Avengers. DC has always played catch-up to Marvel, and this is no different. It wasn't a poor film, and I enjoyed it, but it's come too late to the party. We're tired of Batman by now. Gal Gadot is a great Wonder Woman, and I liked seeing Jason Momoa redeeming Aquaman, but for the most part this film misses the mark. t's not a bad movie, but the bar has already been set so high, it still manages to disappoint.

A few fun action beats but mostly pretty dull, awash with weightless poor quality CGI which has no impact. Chemistry between characters is the biggest strength, specifically The Flash and Aquaman, but plenty of leaden dialogue. Antagonist Steppenwolf is very poor and exists solely to act as a punching bag for the heroes. The main problem is despite my issues with some recent DC films they often felt distinctive. This feels generic, an ersatz Marvel film and a bad version of The Avengers.

The movie introduces three new characters: Cyborg is a living plot device, Flash is sometimes funny, often terribly unfunny and Aquaman, while being the most interesting out of all three, does nothing except say YEAHYUH at one point. The villain is the worst villain of every movie ever and so ridiculously overpowered that every fight scene is boring by default. Batfleck obviously wants to leave the franchise as soon as possible. At least Gal is here to carry yet another DC movie by herself.

Perhaps the most professional rush job I've ever seen. Every Single Thing is half-baked, half-formed, or half-assed - and acting, pacing, and character suffer immensely. For as much effort that appears to have gone into it, the end result feels pained. (And frankly, it takes effort to piss away so much built-in potential - like pissing with a hard-on for the box office.) Cavill's will-o'-the-wisp of a mustache is really the perfect metaphor for DCEU's current care for these characters.

Succeeds at being the worst DC movie ever released (congratulation Clooney, your Bat Nips are now 2nd worst). Every single actor is terrible or miscast, even Gal Gadot, phones in this performance hard. The CGI is on the level of an amateur animation school that promotes in video game magazines. The plot is rarely there and very unfocused. Worst part, because Zack had to leave the project, the direction is uneven and Joss Whedon's script doctoring is noticeable, jarring, and in the end harmful

The overdue course correction in tone makes this better than its predecessors but Snyder's still in charge & that's still not a good thing. The story proper opens with Batman reminding us that he's looking for "fear" & a world inexplicably mourning the "hopeful" Superman (even though until now we've never seen Supes engage warmly w/ humanity) & u expect the usual joyless bad assery is on the way. Fortunately lighter heroes show up, but the video-game aesthetic & cliched world destroyer remain.

So against all expectation I was enthralled by it! It's glorious schlocky nonsense, comparable to Flash Gordon for its garish visuals and sense of camp. Edited to within an inch of its life - and I found myself actually wanting more! I have ZERO interest in the upcoming solo movies, but further adventures of the team in this live action comic book world, with computer game cut-scene visuals, and Whedon writing and directing, with a Danny Elfman score? YES! I'm in! What can I say? I love trash.

The sheer nihilistic grandiosity and insanity I was hoping for has been replaced with cookie-cutter storytelling and presentation the likes of which have never been blander. Knocked down from the dizzying heights of "Wonder Woman" and placed firmly back in the territory of its other DCEU brethren, "Justice League" is visibly trying to be better than what came before, and I can appreciate that. There are jokes that work and interactions that amuse, there are interesting dynamics that occasionally rear their head, but nothing can save it from a fundamentally flawed foundation and a weak premise, villain, and, and I hate to say it, team. Finally, a tonally sound DC movie. That'll be Mr Whedon's help right there. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a retread of Avengers but not as good. The bad guy is weak, the McGuffin wasn't set up ahead of time (that's why you have a shared universe guys) and the Flash is....no where near as fun as the TV one. Aquaman was kick ass though. Justice League feels like a trimmed-down, crowd-pleasing cut of a movie that probably wasn't great so it was edited into something that, at a minimum, was more tolerable. It is very uninteresting and unengaging in its current state. Characters have little to them, the plot is paper-thin, it's a mix-and-match of tones and shortens various conflicts to the point that they barely make sense to the audience.. Add in some dodgy special effects and you've got a movie that isn't very good.

I think I'm done with Zack Snyder films. After showing great potential with Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen, it's been a slow downhill car crash of filmography. Batman and Superman are just wasted here. They just seem like soulless husks of their actual characters. Affleck was phoning this one in from his sofa, and once you notice the CGI on Cavill's face, it can never be unseen. The 3rd act of the film looked like a video game, and that's a bad thing. WW, Flash and Aquaman were good.

Tragically, the visuals aren't even the worst of it, at best ringing of mid-century video game cinematics. Not nearly as bad as I expected, in fact a lot of it worked in my opinion. Despite having pretty much no lead in to Aquaman, Flash or Cyborg, each of them works as a good supporting role to the main three. As always Wonder Woman shines as the best element, though Superman's scenes were heartwarming. It felt like Batman's was the weaker story, a shame given his history and appeal. Yeah it had a lame villain, but this movie is clearly just a fun team-up fighting film, and it does that fine.

Whedon's upbeat town and Snyder's dark and gritty feel and visuals, the movie certainly clashed with itself. However, despite this I found it quite enjoyable. Weak superhero saga has some decent set pieces (especially 'evil' Superman), but too often feels as if it's trying a 'paint-by-numbers' steal from the Marvel films; rushed, hurried character development feels like amateur hour compared to the slow build over many years from the Marvel stable. Of all the recent superhero films, this feels most like a proper comic book. That's not necessarily a good thing: it's got over-exposition, jumpy editing, disorganized plotlines, generic random bad guy, gratuitous action scenes, cheesy dialogue, absurd leaps of logic, etc. Once I realized this though, I had a good deal of fun even with all of the glaring flaws. It doesn't help any that whoever was in charge of the cinematography chose to make all the actors look like they were either drunk or had sunburns for much of the film. A problem plague production with tons of reshoots, it lacks the excitement you should get from seeing all these heavy hitting superheroes on the screen at the same time.

If you were a superhero with a cliché-ridden script like this one, you'd be drinking a lot of whiskey too.

A schizophrenic mash-up of two sub-par director's styles and philosophies, the gaps smoothed over with an orgy of CGI that they didn't even have time to finish rendering. The Flash making quips and everyone else rolling their eyes is not a substitute for a good team dynamic. But hey, at least it's better than Suicide Squad, lol.

I guess this is better than the two Snyder outings so far? Man of Steel and Batman v Superman felt like ImFourteenAndThisIsDeep's attempt to make the exact opposite of The Avengers. Justice League tries to course-correct by making the most generic, by-the-numbers, and pedantic version of the superhero team-up that all of Marvel's detractors claim them to be. Staying with Synder's vision might not have made this any better but it sure would make it less pathetic.

Batman and Wonder Woman’s introductions in this film deliver on the campy comic book fun that modern superhero films could use much more of. After that, Justice League reverts to the expected melodramatic Snyder-isms and some cringey attempts at lightening things up in the sort of smirking-at-the-camera way that Whedon brought to the MCU and unsuccessfully attempts to integrate here. At least it’s only two hours long.

Coming off the (putting it mildly) underwhelming BvS and having been mangled by a terrible production phase, I was kinda surprised at how decent this turned out. Sure, the plot is almost as weak as the World-ender-of-the-week bad guy, but the cast was fine, and there were moments of actual fun throughout... Sidenote: The "botanic" resolution of the finale transitions perfectly into Annihilation... Just an observation...

I almost feel bad for the folks working on these DC movies, because they try to tackle heavy complex morality issues in Batman v Superman and people hate it because it's just a total bummer, then they make this movie to be a more lighthearted standard-fare save-the-world-from-evil-aliens movie, and it still comes up short. Flash was pretty funny, Aquaman was pretty pointless, and the plot overall felt generic and ham-fisted.

Non-stop choppy CGI green screen action, with no plot (totally forgettable alien dude wants to unite the mommy boxes and destroy the world!), and fresh off the heels of "Martha", add to that more WTF dialogue for the ages: "You smell good". Apparently Supes doesn't smell as bad as Batman. The Flash's "I'm just such an awkward nerd" schtick was grating as well. But man...Gadot is a gorgeous Gal.

Justice League begins with some minor promise. There is humor to be found in Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa. Unfortunately aside from Gal Gadot there is no real interesting performance work, The special effects are laughable, and the story could barely be called as such. It's all over the place and never feels as big as it's trying to be.

So it's not terrible, it's just not good. It has it's moments but mostly it's awkward and badly put together and makes the huge mistake of copying from the first Avengers without having a fraction of that movie's seamlessness, great pacing and easygoing charm.

An absolute mess. The whole film feels completely untethered to any kind of firm foundation. The screenplay is a disaster, Whedon’s jokes are awful, there are nonsensical narrative leaps all over the place, the CGI/design are substandard, & it has a desperate feel of scrambling to catch up with Marvel. But it’s full of characters I’ve loved since childhood and I can’t deny how much little moments gave me joy. It’s a poor film, and I’m cutting it too much slack.

Colour me surprised when I found this to be somewhat watchable. This is what can happen when it isn't trying so hard to appeal to angsty teenagers who love dc because it's so much deeper than marvel

Pleasantly surprised coming from very low expectations. DC finally might, might be getting their act together (I don't count Nolan-Bale superb trilogy 2 their credit). I enjoyed some of this ALMOST as much as a mid-level Marvel movie ;-) Cyborg = bit dull & Aquaman needs more to do but thanks to Ezra M & Wheedon 4 some long overdue humor. Affleck & Gadot play perfectly fine super-parents. Shame about Cavill's CGI lip but not their fault (reshoot probs + MI mustache). More hope 4 future DC pics

Pales in comparison to the Marvel team movies, mostly because DC was so far behind the curve it refused to do any world building. The bad is big and strong but this feels like a regular run comic book story and not some epic adventure. It doesn't really reflect much danger to the world, just localized areas. I don't know. Aquaman is as cool as you can make him and Flash had some good humor spots, and Gadot is always great so I am being kind and putting this at average.
