I commend Nolan for trying to break the boundaries of storytelling, but this needed far more compelling characters to make the gimmick feel like more than a gimmick. Inception was a brilliant story about a guy dealing with the loss of his wife. I haven't seen Interstellar yet, but from what I know, there's a deeper story going on there that sounds super compelling. Tenet is just a popcorn movie that tries to pretend it's something smarter without offering much evidence.

Switch off your brain and enjoy the show. Exactly as every other Nolan movie, there is no depth or meaning to this one. It's an interesting premise used to deliver tight action and stunning visuals. It's fun, it's face value, it's skillfully executed. Enjoy the roller-coaster and don't try to make it into more than it is - entertainment.

I would love to see what a Christopher Nolan would look like if he directed it while not up his own ass. I'll bet that he has a room where he stores each fart he makes and then uses that room when he "needs a hit". Maybe he has a mask like Bane wears.

Christopher Nolan is slowly turning into a pseudo-intellectual Michael Bay. Tenet isn't half as smart as it thinks it is; being obtuse is not the same thing as being clever. Some of the worst audio mixing I've heard in a while. You'll be riding that volume control like an unruly mule. And the constantly changing aspect ratio really chaps my ass. This is like if Annihilation was dropped on its head as a child. If you want Christopher Nolan filming things in reverse, stick to Memento.

It does bounce all over the place but it's not impossible to figure out the basic idea behind the convoluted plot. Washington carries the film nicely and everyone else accomodates him nicely through this epic journey and time espionage. Stay for the long haul because it does take time but it does come together in a fitting way. I can see how it's not a film that everyone would want to watch as it requires a lot of patience and willingness to see past potential gaping plot holes. Do that.

I’ll like this film in the long run, the same way I enjoy reading obscure PhD theses. This film is just as imaginative and preoccupied with proving itself, with what I call Thesis Masturbation. Here, an idea as simple as, “Your mission, if you choose to accept it,” becomes, “The physical projection understood as yourself as it anticipates to comprehend the multifarious commission presented forthwith, insomuch understood by the illusion of the personal selection of all probabilities...”

I liked it more than Dunkirk, although it is one of Nolan’s weakest films. There are some really great scenes here utilizing the inversed time, but if you remove that, the story is kinda unimpressive. The length certainly doesn’t help either, as I’m sure cutting this by half an hour would give it much tighter pacing. The issue of the sound mixing is indeed pretty bad, as the dialogue is the quietest part of the film. Overall, it looks great, and is occasionally fun, but very flawed.

It has almost everything you could expect from an enjoyable sci-fi/action movie, but there was something off about the script that seemed to lose its plot at times and to hide some of its flaws behind an impenetrable complexity, while in other places pummeled an audience with an embarrassingly unnatural exposition. I miss Jonathan Nolan. He always was the element keeping Nolan's masterpieces far from the mumbo jumbo area.

The longer I watched this, the more bored and confused I got. The characters lacked personality, the plot had nothing to make the viewer latch onto it, and the less-talk more-gunshots approach made any interest I had fade quickly. Aside from the fantastic soundtrack, nothing about this movie excited me.

Really loved the concept of reversing entropy with code and how Nolan turns that into a (mostly) consistent time traveling story using mechanics reminiscent of primer. But then you are supposed to build a gripping story around this concept with characters we care about ... and in this, i felt Nolan was much less successful than in his previous films. Still a cool concept with some great action scenes

as a science fiction geek. I could easily say that time paradox stuff is my thing but still, I didn't understand what was Nolan tried to accomplish with the tenet. I really like Nolan movies. I could easily say that I watched every his movies at least 5 times even we are talking about 'the following' which his student work. Tenet is wrong on so many levels I could easily say that it is not a movie but a theory about the time paradox which really shitty on the screen. DONT WATCH IT.
